Arrived at camping municipal ouarzazate.....

Hi Tonka,
There is a very nice Supermarket there now second exit on roundabout past Pirelli then about 500 yards on right.
Good prices and one of the young Ladies speaks excellent English
They were all French there two weeks ago as well.
If you go to Blue Meski, it is more of a dump than last year but a nice guy has about 8 spaces outside his resteraunt just on the right rather than going down the ramp to the oasis.
Steve

Thanks on info.. While I sunbathed, the rest of the group have already been out and came back loaded up with carrier bags...

Arrived at camping municipal ouarzazate....
We need more Brit's the froggies just grunt and stare.

Like we are bothered. :thumb:

Beer o'clock....

Here maybe for a 3 night stop, could not haggle on price.. 50dh or 80dh with electric......

Hope it's not as crowded as it was when we stayed last year. It was so crammed we could hardly open our habitation door. I could have reached out of our window and through the froggies window next door and helped myself to bread from his table!
We vowed never to return.
We did find we liked the site a few km north of Ourzazate near the turning for Ait Benhaddou (no 115 in the book). It even has a decent swimming pool.

It's fairly busy but with spaces.. We have found a nice spot for all 3 vans side by side with room for awnings and meeting area. The Frenchie who thought he had a football field in front of his sunny outlook has come in for an awakening when we pitched up and beer o'clock started... :Rofl1:

Tafrout to Agadir

We were advised to only travel this road in this direction. I am so glad we took the advice. There is one section in particular where the road has no hard shoulder. It is along the side of the mountain. We were against the rising side but the traffic coming towards us was next to a very long drop. It is the only area where I found the drivers on the other side stopped to let me squeeze past rather than speed past me. It is a very beautiful area.

Pictures were taken further on when I was able to pull in.

Getting out via Tangier-Med

As promised, this is how we did it - no guarantees that it won't be changed when the next lot come through 'cos they're still building.

We aimed for the 1300 ferry so arrived around 1045, i.e. after the previous one left.

Directed into the parking at the gate, head for the giant "Tickets and Check In" sign and park there. There are the usual touts trying to "help" - just say no, you don't need them.

Go to the ferry office (Accionna) in the second block of offices on the left with your ticket/voucher. We were told to go away and come back at 1300, but were handed a red TransMediterranean sign to go in the windscreen. If you want change, the bureaux are all accessible from here. There's toilets and a small cafe too.

Returned at 1300 and were given boarding cards - one for each passenger plus one for the vehicle. We then proceeded along the dockside to the police posts, the boarding cards checked twice along the way. At the police post hand in your passports and yellow exit forms - you get your passport stamped again.

Proceed to the next block which is Customs. Hand in the two "Export" forms plus the drivers passport. One stamped copy will be returned with your passport; keep it, it's your proof of export of the vehicle. We were then directed to a mobile x-ray scanner which did 3 vehicles at a time. But you have to leave your vehicle and we were ushered well away while it was done.

You then drive all the way back to the loading berths - your quay number will be on the boarding cards. Then park up and wait........

We were delayed because the 1300 ferry wasn't running - it looks to have been substituted by an ex-ex-ex-P&O Channel ferry so it's probably not going to be a fast crossing. It was wobbling about a bit when it came in.......

Wow!!! Just had a furious exchange with a French man in Mustafa's
Forecourt
We were just sitting in the van waiting as you do! At Mustafas when we were jolted forward by a van reversing into us
We jumped out the man working inthe yard ( who I think was directing him) hastily started checking our van saying " no problem"
The driver got out and just continued his business as though nothing had happened! He then got back in his van
So I waited til he came out and then asked him to apologise to my husband as he had hit us and not even acknowledged his error

He told me he didn't understand !!
BIG MISTAKE!
I m amazed at how good my French is when I'm absolutelty seething with anger
I told him in no uncertain terms that he did understand me and that he would apologize to my husband for the "accident "! Suddenly he comprehended!! He bowed to Malcolm and said Sorry!!
I then said it may be only a small word but it says a lot!!! I got back in The van . I was shaking and my husband said he was really proud ☺️
Phew! Got that off my chest now x
Note to self " learn some strong words of abuse in French! ":Rofl1: Cathryn Bolt

I did not know Cathryn had it in her. She was bloody marvelous. :thumb:

NOTE TO SELF..

Give Cathryn a wide berth if she's angry... :Eeek:

:Rofl1::Rofl1:

Good for you...

Today I have made a resolution NOT to say Bonjour to all the Frenchies...
It's good morning and thats it... Fed up of having a "grunt" in reply to my French greetings....

Tina and I have also just gone through the same procedure and now waiting on the dockside for our ferry.

May I say thank you to everyone we met, travelled with and chatted with as we have had a great experience. Would I come again... Absolutely. Would Tina come again.. Not sure. She struggled with the culture but she did enjoy the company as I did of the Funsters.

Now going to visit friends near Perpignan for a few days before crossing on 28th.

Safe travels everyone... Hope to see you at a rally.

Tina & Colin

Foum Zguid to Agdz

I meant to post this earlier but better late than never

Fuel at FZ and about 20 miles up tge road ,
when the road R111 splits we took the right fork R108
it starts as a piste road (we met a frog coming towards us saying the is road very bad and he had turned round )
we carried on ....
The piste road carried on for about a mile then goes onto single track tarmac , then varies on and off for about10 miles ,
The worst part is about a mile before and after the quarry ,

just take your time and pick your pull off places , as some of the tarmac edges are a bit of a drop ,as in 6 inches ,

About 2 miles after the quarry the road becomes really good again ,

Basically the road is about the same as from Tafraoute to Tallouine ,

The scenery is great Enjoy :thumb:

Suggy Squad now encamped at Hamada du Draa in Mhamid. Several other Brit vans on site. Site puppy gave Jess a good telling off and told her in no uncertain terms who was boss :Rofl1:

Have been told they sell reasonably priced wine in the restaurant here so hope we can get some tonight for the party - its is Holy day don't forget

Bumped into Baz, Sue, Ray & Joan as they were en route back towards Zagora. They said they were a bit 'duned out' now and were now heading off towards the gorges back in the middle of Maroc.

Sand sand sand sand Algeria sand sand sand and then more sand :Rofl1:

Hi Malcolm , which road were you on? Was it the R104 , or if it was on white roads on the michelin map , which villages were you passing through on the route so that others can follow , :thumb:
