Morocco for fuel and in margane supermarkets for food shopping, hope this helps, gwyntaxi.:thumb:

crossing to Morocco

Just put this post on the Malaga thread but maybe should be on here

Just a couple of questions really, we have a very good quote from Camping Cheque £120 return including 3 camping cheques, we leaving on 30th Dec.

This means we will arrive a bit earlier, do Camping Bella Vista do camping cheques.

Also with leaving then we will be able to cross to Morocco earlier if anyone is going across nearer the 8th could they let us know , Thanks.
Hello there,
We hope to be crossing from Algeciras to Tangier Med on or about 9.1.14
well at least thats the plan, leaving Calais aire on 3.1.14.keep an eye out for
us if you like,gwyntaxi.:thumb:

Open Street Maps for Morocco is excellent - it even shows the location of cash points / banks.

Check out Asilah for example (first port of call for many) - two banks located on the high street. We used our Halifax Clarity card to withdraw cash in Morocco no issues - we also used it to pay for our shopping in Majane supermarkets.

These POI's are present when you download the maps to your Garmin as mentioned in an earlier post :)

Ok I need some advice from our experts
Elaine and I need recommended beaches sites for a stay of about 2 weeks
Requirements are
Sun and sand
A good site with electric
Shops bars within walking distance
Not too bothered about being flash but comfortable
We had always planned 1 extended stop to chill out probably first 2 weeks in February
All sensible suggestions gratefully welcome:thumb:
Sarcastic ones expected:Rofl1:

I did not see any and would not expect to find any. Atlantic park has the sun, electric, pool, a few shops nearby as is the sea but I would not call it a chill out place.

Cafes abound but not bars. It ain't a European Med holiday place.

For relaxation try Camping Moroc. No sea, no sand, it has a European feel - run by a French family. No shops either but they will take you into town for a small charge. It has a good restaurant, bar and pool.

Insurance MOROCCO

Hi there,
If my grey matter serves me well,I seem to recall a figure of approximately 100 EUROS for 1 MONTH ,obtainable in Tetuan,it's not not cheap and considerably
more for longer, personally,if your insurance hasn't got long to expire,I would consider getting insurance with COMFORT Insurance they cover you fully comp in Morocco and charge £17.50 extra for green card, ESSENTIAL for MOROCCO,
PREMIUM APPROX £382 per annum incl. European breakdown cover AANNDD
in event of breakdown in Morocco you pay recovery, call out etc,and they will re-imburse you on return if you provide receipts.I would rather consider that than deal with a Moroccan Insurance agent when you are back in U.K. THINK!!!Hope this helps you.:thumb::Eek!:

No expert but as I remember it there are two Atlantic Park sites. The one we stopped at is before Taghazout Beach and although an excellent site, there are few places nearby and no direct beach access.

The second AP is about 5Km beyond Taghazout and is ON the beach own bar restaurant and a couple of bars nearby, but as Malcolm said..... neither are Club Med locations. PM Snowbird, he is sure to know some suitable locations. Avoid the Municipal site in Agadir .....it is tip of a place.

I have copied and pasted a list for you of some of the ‘better’ camp sites in Morocco that have been recommended to me. I am sure you are aware none come up to many of the better European standards and most ‘bars’ are in hotels in the cities and can be very pricey. Having said that, there are loads of bars in Funsters motor homes at tagazhout beach. :Rofl1::Rofl1:

Camping Earth Ocean - N 30 ° 33' 46" W 09 ° 44' 25”
Camping Tazerzite - near (5 miles) Tiznit N 29 ° 38' 50 "W, 09 ° 43' 30"
* Camping Atlantica Parc N 30 ° 35' 15 " W 09 ° 45' 04" - gets very busy Website - nearest to what you might be expecting.
Camping Imourane Atlantica N 30 ° 30' 40 " W-9 ° 40' 52"
Camping Camping Euro – inland – Website
Camping International Tiznit N 29 41' 39 " W 09 42' 59" - inland, bars shops etc – arrive very early, expect it to be fully booked – French regulars favourite.
* Camping Moullay Bousselham N 34 ° 52 '39-W 6 ° 17' 17" - great location – would recommend as last stop before returning to Spain.

Having spoken to the boss she has suggested: * International Aglou Beach N 29 ° 48' 13 "W-09 ° 49' 38 " Website As usual she is right this is closest to your requirements. :Rofl1::Rofl1:

Hope this proves useful.

Andrew

* Have stayed there.

At the moment we are in Oliva. Lots of blue to one side. Quite a lot of grey to the other and a fair bit of wind all round.

While we are in Antequera, (Malaga), lovely day, bright blue sky, warm sunshine, but..........vanless and suffering from cabin fever and going ever so slightly ....... stir crazeeeeeeee!,:swear::swear::swear:

Have a safe journey.

I will probably be going over from Spain at that time and happy for anyone to come along.

We have a safari room but wont be taking it to Morocco. Last year we had no need for it. We did use the sun canopy and windblocker (Lilypad) which when pegged out wide gives good shade as well as allowing good ventillation.
Hello how do you obtain a green card insurance for Morocco my insurance company don't supply

Marjohn:thumb:

Had a similar problem on the Morocco 2013 trip when my Spanish insurers would only give 2 weeks cover. Meant we had to buy insurance cover at Tanger Med on arrival, easily done 30 days cover about 100 euros.

Did not renew my insurance but went with different company who provide 90 days Green Card.... maybe you should consider new company when you renew if you intend going to North Africa again.

Others will be along soon with better advice perhaps.

(suppose I should check out they will do the same this time)

Who is your insurance with? I am with Safeguard and just rang them today and they are issuing a green card for free.
Try ringing your insurers and see what they say. There might be a small charge.
Mike

How do you get a insurance green card for Morocco my insurance company don't do it thanks marjohn:BigGrin:

Hello !!!!!!!

Read the answers you have already received, repeating the question will not change the answers.

You can only get Green Card from your own (current) insurers. If you are certain that your own insurer will not provide Green Card for Morocco then........

1. You will need to buy insurance in Tangier
2. You will need to change your insurers at next renewal.
3. Change insurers now.

Regards, Bryan

I agree with Bryan, you need to be actively thinking of changeling your insurer, checking the amount of time you can stay in Morocco if you buy one in Morocco or as a long shot if you are in the CCC or CC or even the Motorcaravaners club they just may be able to help.

Comfort Insurance do a green card so that could be a starting point, but some where in the threads I am sure it has been talked about before.

You also need to get a camping carnet organised if you don't already have one, it will save you trouble later on.

If I were you and had a hour to spare I would read this and the 2013 thread through make notes of anything you have not done, as come December the post becomes more erratic and it is coming to the final planning stage.

Let us know how you get on I am sure you will be able to sort it out.

Green card moroccoi

ok, seem's the Morocco 2013 thread just wont die and the forum is getting split a little as there are now also 2 morocco 2014 threads running..

I will start the ball rolling again for 2014 and state our plans.
We hope to be leaving UK first week of January and head down to Algeciras, possible short stop over in Benidorm if we get time and at least an overnight at Bella Vista so we can meet again with Rudi the site manager to finalise the meet there in March.
Ferry over to Morocco on or close to 15th January and we will be spending 4-6 weeks there.

Others from the 2013 group I know are planning to go and they will no doubt post here soon.
Some are planning to spend Christmas and New year in Benidorm, so if others want a meet up then camping Villasol in Benidorm looks to be a good spot this winter.

Andrew and myself have also approached Marjal, where we had the 2012 meet, to try and obtain a deal for funster who may be traveling down on route to Morocco, the Bella vista meet or Spain in general.. This is not confirmed as yet but I will post once I have full details.

If we now make this the prime posting thread we can maybe start to form some some of list of who and when people plan to travel. Newbie can then maybe get hooked up with some of the more seasoned travelers....
