Your Beer of the week

I sampled a Sour Beer at the Hop Inn, Brecon tonight. Very refreshing. Certainly not a session beer at 11%, but a good one with seafood IMHO. I visit this establishment each time I visit Brecon. There is a vast selection of beer and ales in bottles, cans, and on draft. It is also a friendly place to spend an evening in. Certainly worth a visit if you hapoen to be in the town.
Safe and happy travels.

Last night I tried a brew dog black heart stout, and also a Fell brewery Cumbrian dry stout, they were both very nice! Full of flavour and easy to drink!

St Austell Brewery Bottle Conditioned Proper Black IPA.
It's on the 4 for 3 deal at Asda.
£2.15 for a bottle so works out at £1.61 a bottle when you buy 4.
Fantastic drop of stuff, especially at 6.0% abv!

Have you tried this one?
This is a local one (for me), from Catalonia.
This is an Inèdit, in catalan (Untold in english).
A beer crafted by our great Ferran Adrià.
It's a wheat soft beer, in the Witbier style, originally from Belgium, made with unmalted wheat, wich makes the beer have more body and smoothness in the mouth.
Interesting flavour.
Cheers 🍻

Yes mouth feel, that's the main thing for me.
I've started mixing 1/2 teaspoon of cornflour in my Carlsberg, it producer the same effect!
:giggler:

I know it's not beer but couldn't find the equivalent wine thread so here goes!

If you can find this in your local Aldi snap it up for Christmas (or before!) it's excellent.

The missus called in at Tebay Farm shop services on her way back yesterday and got me six bottles of Sam Smith's organic lager, which we can't get locally.

I was clearing some stuff out of the car and found an early Christmas present for me too, felt a bit guilty, but I will hang on till the day !

As you probably know my hobby is beer, so how about just once a week we post about a beer we have had during the week (good, bad or indifferent beer or lager), not a your favourite beers but as I said, one you have had during the week.

Let me make a start, this week I have had a bottle of

Thwaites, Golden Wünder, England

It is supposed to be an Oktoberfest beer, 4.6% very pale yellow with a very thin head, slight sweet hop aroma, rather watery initial taste but with a bit of a citrus aftertaste. I found it to be very ordinary but not a bad beer.

Friday I had a beer in the centre of France called the “beer of the moment” yep at €9.50 a pint, one expected something great. Well this was a blond lager beer, I am sure it contained fairy liquid. It was grim, drinkable but grim.
The annoying thing is the food was out of this world,.. Gravelax : salmon with pickled vegetables and micro herbs.. I have never had food as good as this. I like gravelax and have had it many times, but my god this was exceptional. The sweet was finely sliced pineapple with a light apple syrup and a green apple sorbet.
Then yesterday in Pamplona, oh my, an Italian restaurant in the Square, beetroot, wafer thinly sliced on olive oil, Parmesan shavings, rocket leaves and walnuts. Simply divine. I’m on a diet.. why is the food so good..

We had a London Porter from Aldi and that’s quite pleasant
