Full bodied, tasty, full of flavour, and warming. It is also retaining it's head as I make my way down the glass.
Cheers.

I forgot to mention Golden Glory, which is another favourite of Badger Beers for me. I am sure it has been re labelled. It says it's a new beer, but it has been brought back by popular demand apparently. Not had either the poacher nor the stout Jock. The golden champion is to my liking though, and drink it fairly regularly.![]()
Knowing your taste for strong ales Steve, this would be right up your street, ie, up there with Broadside.A proper man’s beer that one..well done Jock.![]()
I think you could well be right there Jock. Will keep an eye out for this one, thanks.I forgot to mention Golden Glory, which is another favourite of Badger Beers for me. I am sure it has been re labelled. It says it's a new beer, but it has been brought back by popular demand apparently.

Sorry Steve, I was referring to King Goblin as being up there with the Broadside, and not the Golden Glory which you might find a bit tame.I think you could well be right there Jock. Will keep an eye out for this one, thanks.![]()
Oh right, sorry Jock, I misunderstood you. I’m of the opinion, if a beer tastes good, then it’s worth buying, regardless of strength. I’ve had beers around 3.5 & 3.8 that have had a beautiful taste. Must mention here though that Old Crafty Hen & Mcewens Champion are also firm favourites of mine.Sorry Steve, I was referring to King Goblin as being up there with the Broadside, and not the Golden Glory which you might find a bit tame.

looks very pale for a Brown AleThis Brown Ale from the VIP Brewery, Lindisfarne, has slightly more flavour, but I have to say, neither this nor the Stout above, are beers I'd be rushing out to procure at anytime. I'm disappointed TBH.
Cheers

Thats probably why it was more like pish, than beer Joe.looks very pale for a Brown Ale
A very flavoursome hoppy blond ale brewed over Peterborough way is, Oakham Ales JHB @ 3.6%, and very popular. I prefer the Bishop's Farewell which is less hoppy and slightly stronger at 4.2%.I’ve had beers around 3.5 & 3.8 that have had a beautiful taste.

They used to do a brew called Cold Turkey @6.7%, but it was withdrawn after the brewery got their knuckles rapped by HMRC, for not declaring a spirit they had added at some stage of the brewing process.

Where we live 10 x miles further north, we have a local brewery called Hopshackle Ales, which are all to hoppy for me excepting their Resination, again at around 7%, which I would sometimes mix with a half pint of a low volume bitter, which gave me a lovely flavoured pint at around 5%.
At 7%, it should have been called "Resignation".

Sounds a bit like J.Wadsworth's in St Ives, but they tend to do spirits, especially whisky .Visited Beers of Europe today in Kings Lynn, great selection from local beers to plenty of options from around the globe. They also have a new taproom and looks like they might be making a motorhome stopover available.
Drinking Timothy Taylor landlords tonights but did get a few Kiwi tastes from home whilst I was there.
Good choice with landlord. I’m looking at the brewery across the valley right now. Can’t make much out because it’s dark. I’m not a fan of the landlord dark really. It’s just Ram Tam renamed.Visited Beers of Europe today in Kings Lynn, great selection from local beers to plenty of options from around the globe. Whilst having had TT Landlord many times Glenn, I've not seen nor had a dark ale from the brewery before. Is it a rich malty flavour?I’m not a fan of the landlord dark really. It’s just Ram Tam renamed.

Aye it is a richer maltier flavour but they caramelise the sugar to create the much darker colour and malt flavour. It’s generally a winter beer.Whilst having had TT Landlord many times Glenn, I've not seen nor had a dark ale from the brewery before. Is it a rich malty flavour?

That sounds right up my street Glenn. In fact, I am slavering all over the place just thinking about a pint of it.Aye it is a richer maltier flavour but they caramelise the sugar to create the much darker colour and malt flavour. It’s generally a winter beer.
Well, the dash definitely made it more palatable.and am tempted to chuck the rest down the blooming sink................or try it with a large dash of lemonade first.![]()

Following on from that post, I tried the other two bottles, the first of which was this one.........Well chaps, I bought 3 x Belgian/French type beers from Aldi, when doing the shopping last week, (shopper's perk I call it).
I was really looking forward to this one...............

What a disappointment! It was quite tasteless, (and no, I've not got Covid.
), lost it's head almost immediately, and had a sort of musty aftertaste to it. I've only had 1 x small glassful, and am tempted to chuck the rest down the blooming sink................or try it with a large dash of lemonade first.
I just hope the other two Belgian beers I bought are an improvement on this one.
Cheers
