Winter in Spain anyone?

Hi Sandra,

My Mum has her 100th in early December but we hope to start out just afterwards unless the respective governments ban travel. It'll probably be the last winter in the Frankia before going smaller. A usual stop for us at Cabo de Gata is out as the campsite has said that that, exceptionally, they will close for the winter so Totana and Los Olivos may be long stays.

We'll keep a look out you in La Azohia. We biked there from Los Olivos earlier this year. Have a good trip outbound. Tell Colin the e-bike ramp we made out of alumium angle is still working well!

Just noticed on the site we are on,,masks are mandatory and 95% wear them,,Guess the nationality that flaunt the rules ???The bloody French of course,,,Whats wrong with them?? BUSBY.

Masks not mandatory here on Area Narejos, Los Alcaceres! Actually just us two big ones one side and 8-12 vans depending on the day on the camping area proper. So not many folks at all. People very sensible in and about town and shops. Feel very safe and glad we came!

They are . Anywhere outside in spain a mask is required. Don't believe anyone who tells you being "on site" is different .It isn't.
It is required anywhere you cannot ensure that you can maintain 2m seperation from anyone else. & outside that includes any family, as most spanish find out the €€€€€ way:giggle:

Is that site part of the area. It looked closed off each time we have been there?

We stayed there last January for a few days both parts Area were rammed lovely area hope to go again next January

It looks like Benidorm is going to have a midnight to 6 am curfew. If you beleve Twitter it's a done deal.

The president of the Generalitat, Ximo Puig , announced tonight his intention to ask the Generalitat Lawyers' Office and the Ministry of Health for a resolution restricting nighttime mobility in the three provinces between midnight and six o'clock. morning . Said resolution, which makes a curfew effective at least until December 9, will be sent to the Superior Court of Justice to evaluate its legality and could come into effect during the weekend.

I will b there at Los Narejos in about 2 weeks and stay until march enjoyed my first stay there dec last year for a month.I like the area and have friends in Los Alcazeras.
Cheers Cris.

We used to have an apartment just outside Los Alcazeras (Roda).

A lovely area.

I don't imagine that a curfew from 12 midnight to 6am would affect that many folks, especially any funsters out there, they will all be tucked up in bed. (y)

Is that a separate part of the Area Narejos site Julie? I've noticed it before but didn't realise you could stand there? Is it for long-termers only or something?

That is one of our favourite stopovers - the restaurant is OK, was there in September this year again.

It is aimed at the spaniards that don't start going out until between 10 & 11pm. Another reason I always turn my phone to airplane when I go to bed as they think noting or ringing, texting, wassap, etc; to speak about renting our apartment.

Hi it is used as overflow area and for people that don’t want electric hookup,it is cheaper than main Area.We spent first night on it with no electric before moving onto main Area following day.

Cool, thanks for that. I’ve never seen the area full! When I was there in Sep they said they’d been empty all year. Good to see it’s turned around for them.

I was there feb this year and both areas were full, but i think it will be alot quieter this year for obvious reasons . Looking forward to getting there and digging in for the winter.
Cheers Cris.

Which areas of Spain are you not allowed to transit through at the moment because of local restrictions?

Somebody sent me this link to a video on farcebook

According to Spain Speaks you can transit through every province, but not stop in those locked down. Currently Navara, Madrid and Aragon. Also some major cities may be barred. It's changing all the time but doubt they will prevent travelers crossing provinces.

News to me?
Lockdowns are uauslly local & confined to the actual town.

Check his update today.
I did. I can't see how you can cross the border into spain without entering Navarra or Aragon?
I can't see how you can be asked to " Not stop" ? There's not too many who would want to enter at Irun & run to Valencia without stopping.
His channel is the only place I can find any mention of it ?

Pretty sure you don’t have to stop in Navara, or Aragon to get into Spain from France. Though I suspect, being sensible he was suggesting you don’t overnight in either province. My understanding of it is that the main towns in these provinces are locked down with limited movement in and out.
