Well....we came second, but the guys who won wanted to keep their prizes so we were offered the chance to gamble our £306! I really wanted to but my sister wouldn't let me as we had agreed beforehand that if we ended up with more than £100 apiece we would keep it. Jim Bowen and the crew came back to the hotel where we were staying and we sat drinking in the bar till the wee hours as he regaled us with tales of life as a stand up. Fabulous fun.

I probably watched that you know. I was a big Bullseye fan(y)

The hostage who's death prompted the SAS raid on the Iranian Embassy in 1980 had previously been a student at the Poly I went to. I once saw him ranting at a student meeting, and the fanatical gleam in his eye was chilling. It didn't surprise me that he volunteered for 'martyrdom' when the hostage takers wanted someone to shoot. A dark subject maybe, but topical.

@Gerri19 didn't know you were famous! Hitachi was one of our PR agency clients and Jim Bowen did a couple of the entertainment evenings we use to organise for their dealers. He was a good sort.

I live in a pod when away from home and spend the rest of my time under our Van

I passed my Driving test aged 17 in a Landrover. I have owned one every day of my life since.

This is my current one, and probably my last, after a 3 hour wash and polish in the sun today.

WOW!!! Very nice worth all the hard work.

Absolutely stunning Jim (y) my uncle and cousins have done off roading for as long as I've known with Landrovers/range rovers and my youngest cousin Terry has and races a Bowler, I did put a pic up a few weeks ago of it but can't for the life of me find it.

Movan, I can confirm the monkey tree for Jim. I climbed it 5 minutes earlier
