What reaaaally bugs you about your motorhome?

Couldn’t you drill a couple of new catch holes, so it catches less open?
I don't really understand how the stays latch and unlatch at each of 3 positions, I can't see any 'holes' in the stays or how the mechanism inside them works even when removed.
I cannot see a way to dismantle them either, unless you know better ?
I was wondering if a much shorter stay is available but didn't get much job from the dealer.

one part of the stay has holes in it that the catch, catches on (I think from memory)

they so also come in a range of lengths. But unless you have a supply it would be a guessing game.

We replaced ours - used stiff card to try different sizes/shapes. Sent the agreed dimensions to a company that laminated it to a sample we previously decided on as an off cut rather than have to buy a whole sheet. Under £50 and looks great.
Hi pandas
On a previous motorhome, we often struggled with the size and weight of the table. But we never got round to replacing it with something smaller and lighter. We're thinking of changing the table on our next van, and plan to pinch your stiff card method for sizing it. I appreciate that a number of van converters offer custom-sized tables - please would you let us know which one you chose?
Many thanks.

Not enough sockets, only 1 usb and that’s in a daft place, shower light switch is in the kitchen, do these designers actually use motorhomes. Vented skylight above the bed, not vented in toilet, so no sleep. Plus the usual table too big. Some work to do x

We simply went for a supplier that make laminated products. Lamform on 01202 892 485. if it helps our size ended up as 750 x 530 x 30mm. £55 plus courier £15. They supplied the board and laminate. A perfect solution for us.

Its got to be the back window on our Adria, the window is a push-open to latch, push further to release the latch. The window is in the toilet/shower room at the rear of the MH and is required to be opened regularly when the motorhome is in use.
On the outside of the window is the Thule bike rack and this limits how far the window opens. It opens enough to reach the first 'latching' point but wont open further enough to unlatch it.
We have a solution to live with this issue, carefully wedge it open with a used toilet roll inner cardboard tube. However open the window just a little to far and it latches needing the 2 window stay units to be unscrewed from the window frame in order the open them out and return them to the closed position.
We have to keep a cross-head screwdriver at hand for this operation.
Does anyone know of a 'fix' for this ? ( apart from removing the bike rack, which we use on most trips ).
Why not affix something to the rear of the bike rack so that the window when opened 'hits' it and thus cannot be opened past the first latching point, you'd still need to wedge it open but at least wouldn't run the risk of pushing it too far out. Alternatively see if you can replace the existing arms with the ones with knobs on that you can tighten at whatever opening distance you wish with no 'latches' to worry about.

Have a search for "chippys workshop" on the internet. He is a specialist is making tabletops for campervans and motorhomes. Very popular in the VW world, but a table's a table :). I got a custom top made by him for the Lagun Table mount I fitted to my AutoTrail. Loads of different colours, patterns, shapes and sizes he does.

Even easier ..... https://chippysworkshop.co.uk/

My right hand drive a-class is continental. The cab door is on the left side. Which isn't an issue in itself. But they didn't consider moving the switch for the door's electric window or the mirror adjustment. I can't reach them from the driver's seat.

Ridiculously large table in our Bailey. Once it’s up you either can’t get into the seats or if you’re already seated that’s you stuck.
Have a look at Lugun table leg we fitted one in ours and its created so much space its unbelievable. Once you have the table up you can just push it out of the way in any direction. Best thing we've changed on ours!

I've got one but it dosn't fold and its a monster which is why we took it out..
Also might want to put it back if we sell.

Just to clarify- You switch it on/off by twisting (indicated by light on dash) then set it to current speed by moving up or down. Each subsequent Up or Down tap increases or decreases the speed by 1mph

If it is On, and you brake or change gear, it switches OFF, but by pressing the button on the end, it resumes the previous set speed.
All cruise control system switch off if you change gear or touch the brakes regardless of whose vehicle make you are using. Speed limiters on the other hand are IMHO far more useful as they continue to operate despite braking or changing gear but you are controlling the speed up to the speed limit set with the accelerator pedal. Cruise control of course takes away the need to operate the latter pedal. I find that in the UK with crowded roads the cruise control is more a nuisance than what it is worth.

That's just reminded me ... on ours they did put one on the drivers side (RHD) however they left the original control on the left side so when we first bought it we tried to use it and thought it was bust as it didn't work, it's just a dummy.

It would be nice to have cruise control for motorways and speed limiter for the rest.

Even my ride-on lawnmower has cruise control! ( .... and 2 cupholders and adjustable lumbar support in the seat!) :giggle:

The absolutely inane placement of the grey tank waste pipe/dump. Situated roughly 2 inches from the rear, right side wheel, it both prevents me from reversing onto ramps should i want/need to and is also situated so low that it massively decreases ground clearance. It's already been cut shorter to get around the first problem and when changing the tank to winterise it properly, we'll go to a side-mounted waste exit for the entire tank.

Hi
No I’ve not fitted to a Bailey but I would imagine it could be done. We had to build out the bottom with a block of stained wood where the leg attaches so that the upright cleared the cushions.
See images attached.

We had to buy extra long bolts to go through the block. The leg will take 22kg of table top I think ours is around 15kg and made of Corrion and big enough to fit 4 plates plus.

Lynne Roy Eh? How strange - Our T7 has 3 mains sockets along the kitchen / lounge side under the lockers - each with 2 x usbs next to each. There also a mains and 2 usbs in the bedroom. Both the toilet and shower skylights are permanent vents but also push up to open further and can be tilted to catch the wind to increase flow. And the shower light switch is next to the toilet one in the loo.
