Just bought ours home from storage for a pre-winter check, as we only got it in the spring. I noticed that the channels and pipes below the bonnet that drain the windscreen area were getting bunged up with leaves and acorns, so I've cleared them out. Also noticed condensation forming on tins and bottles in the over kitchen lockers so they're now in a stacker box in the shower.

Quite a lot of condensation on the windscreen when I picked it up so there's now a moisture collector with white crystals on top of the dashboard.

Otherwise it seems OK. There's mouse bait set inside and out, but so far no signs of nibbling.

I replaced the wing mirror that was fubarred in Fort William. New mirror guards too and I see he has improved them further with expanded foam inside (y)

I changed from white ones to black too as I think they stand out better.

So I have a spare UK passenger side cover going cheap

Got our Motorhome back on 17th, been in the dealer since 28th September to get some warranty work done including a new locker door. I thoroughly checked it over on pick up and drove the 75 miles home only to discover the alarm wouldn't set.
They hadn't lined up the sensor properly on the door, out by about 10mm. A 3mm drill bit, small cross head screw driver and ten minutes, all working again.
The dealer did offer to send a driver and take it back to fix it, though didn't offer an apology or a thank you for me doing it myself. More likely made a note to blaim me if anything goes wrong with it.

It's fine if the tw@ts keep to their side of the road.

I' like to give a huge TA! to Alb @Oscar for pointing me in the right direction when I was looking at replacing my leaking aircon condenser.

£99 for the unit.
Half hour to un-clip condenser.
Half hour to install new condenser.

Happy daze. . . it works !

'Fitted' (well just screwed).. a solar powered PIR motion sensor LED light to the side of the van, just above the hab door.
So when it get's dark it just glows a bit, but when someone approaches the door area it lights up the area, very pleased with it. It can be removed if necessary.

Not as such, there is a control switch accessed from the back to select, on all the time (in darkness), off, or sensor activated, the unit is easily removed though.

No chance of fitting cables for the solar panel today then

Picked a fine day to do it, but engine service and new coolant.

Also added Slick 50 to the gearbox through the gearbox breather. Easier than I expected.

Ah, but you didn't do them out in the snow did you. That looks suspiciously like a nice warm workshop!

In passing, what's the general opinion about using gearbox additives? Don't recall any discussion about them before but I may (and usually am!) wrong.

We have a sliding wall which divides the toilet washroom and the shower area
It moves across to make the shower available. Great way to maximise space.
However one of us.
Sue says me
Did not bolt it in position.
It did not enjoy a ride from South Yorkshire to Manchester
swinging around.
Now re-hung
You should have heard the kerfuffle

PP Bear where is the gearbo breather on the Fiat?
Hope the pictures help. They're for reference, I didn't need to strip as far down as they illustrate.

I took off the main air hose into the top of the air filter only and slipped my arm down the back near the bulkhead.

You can find and feel the airbreather near the far edge of the gearbox and it simply popped off.

I then fed a long plastic pipe (screen washer pipe) into the breather hole and the other end used to put the additive in.

From steering rack to ebay Eberspacher! I've been trying to test it. It fires up runs for a minute or two then shuts down. I'm not sure why, maybe needs properly bleeding. So I've removed it and I'm disconnecting the pipework and replacing it with two short pipes fed into a bucket of water. I can get at the bleed screw when it's off. The weather has stopped play at the moment - no snow but rain, rain, rain.

bill

Hmm
Now what have I done

Fixed a cotton sheet UNDER the mattress to cut down drafts from the garage into the bed

Booked an air-con re-gas in Sheffield Tomorrow - for the princely sun of £30 for a 550g of gas

looking for a few bits but my work list before our next full trip are

1/-install a USB socket at front of van connected to leisure batteries
2/-Change single socket to a double socket in living area
3/-look for and fit a USB strip to awning side of van as awning illumination
4/- look at removing and re installing electric step higher up (remove spacers and lift ) when the weather picks up
5/- fix the nearside rear wheel arch when weather improves (got too close to a wall in Spain)

A few weeks ago, I moved the leisure battery from under the drivers seat into an external locker and fitted a second leisure battery. These are kept topped up by a 120watt solar panel.
When I moved the battery, I cut back the original 12v Hab wiring from the drivers seat and connected it to the batteries. I checked and double checked the wires I cut to check there was nothing connected, they were dead so I insulated the ends and tucked them away.
Everything seemed fine and we went away for 6 weeks.
This week we went away for a few days ( Christmas markets in Brittany) and became aware that the leisure batteries werent being charged by the split charging system. Solar panel was working fine though, keeping the batts topped up.
Last week, I also had a screeching relay, that started when I switched the engine off and stopped when I switched the 12v supply to the fridge off.
Thinking they were related, I changed the offending relay, checked all the fuses and changed the split charging fuses as a precaution.
Everything should work now right ?
No, I discovered the leisure batteries were still not being charged when the engine was running, and now I discovered the cab battery wasn’t being charged when on EHU.
I spent an hour or so tracing and checking wiring and eventually thought I would recheck the original battery wiring.
14.45 v with the engine running!
So, I connected these wires back onto the battery ( other end still insulated) and everything is working as it should.
I can only assume there was no power on these wires when I originally disconnected them as one of the split charge relays was faulty.
Bloody motorhome wiring........

779 post never thought it would get that many

i fixed the alternator belt today and changed the oil it was fairly clean but decided to do it any way
