What are you up to this weekend?

Should've been in the Forest of Dean photographing a van for a magazine feature. We cancelled due to the atrocious weather forecast. So, naturally, the weather was pretty good for a lot of yesterday... Oh well! Instead, I went to visit a van converter to talk about (shush!) my potential upsize in van. I'll be using Tonks the T5 for at least the rest of this year though as good converters have very long lead times, and I'd rather wait for quality.

Just cleared up the garden after my pal laid a new base for a garden store.....now it is Cider o'clock....decent Gwatkin Golden Valley...proper stuff not the wishy washy Heineken brands chem fest...... Then during the week....van clean up ready for the 25th...on a road trip to Yorkshire...

Off to Canterbury and Folkestone (BoB Memorial ) for a week , mad frantic prep time as I’m having my medial meniscus tear repaired three days after we get back so have to fit a pre op , bloods and ECG in tmoz and pack the boy ! Had to curtail the hol by a day as i have to get a proper COVID test and isolate for three days pre op . Looking forward to the holiday and to the op when i can hopefully get back running .

Watching the GP then whatever the boss wants done

Played golf today so tomorrow it will be what ever I'm told to do as have not been briefed by management.

Last weekend visited the grave of my wife’s Great, Great Uncle in Warsop, Robert Bye. VC.

Yesterday we visited the grave of John Rouse Marriott Chard, VC (Rorkes Drift), in Hatch Beauchamp. My connection to that should be obvious by my user name. (y)

I'll be cleaning up the van later after nearly being blown away/drowned by the weather at Salisbury CCC this week, and preparing it ready to take my Dad's ashes to their final resting place tomorrow.

And where will that be Tonk’s? Thoughts are with you. (y)

Thank you. Dad's ashes and those of and another family member are now buried at Milford on Sea. I was able to stop on the sea front there for a cuppa and a bit of 'quiet' time with them before the service. A place we'd often all been together. Although the weather on the 2.5 hour drive down was absolutely diabolical, as I arrived the sun came out. :)

Went out yesterday, first time on our motorcycles since October 2019!

Met up with our son, who had rode down from Lincolnshire, at Stratford-Upon- Avon. Fish and Chips, good chat then headed home to the South West………..glad we were on our motorcycle! We filtered for miles on all types of roads, seems most of the country were heading to the South West or Wales.

Lazy weekend at Quakers CL not been here before but it's top notch
