What are you up to this weekend?

This weekend proper football restarts... HOORAY...

But...

In between watching the matches live, I will be playing with my BRAND NEW lawn mower which does not have to be pushed along...

Hope to get all QMJ cut over the weekend.

Then, when all the "grass" is regulation length, it will be time to fix the RideOn mower starter motor. This will then whiz around doing the bulk of the future mowing while the new one is used on the smaller, intricate bit of "lawn".

JJ

On our way to Pateley Bridge as I type .
Enjoy your long weekends everyone .

We’re off to Loch Lomond tomorrow for the weekend.

We're in South Devon (Stoke gabriel) and it's not stopped raining since last Saurday. The site is a boggy mess. Couldn't get on to a pitch as the ground is absolutely saturated. So we've been sat on the tarmac 'road ' that runs through the field. quite a few caravans have pulled on , stayed for 10 minutes then pull off.

Sitting at home looking out at the rain, I undersatnd the Dover is a bit blockaded with ferry traffic so not going to the town and sod all else to do outside.

I am having a couple of days away with my daughter. We are staying at Commons Wood caravan park & have been into London today to see Wicked, having a really good time despite the persistent rain!

Visited daughter and family in Cotswold Good Friday...wow the traffic was heavy but we were OK and coming home around 20.00 we saw 4 accidents (all of which had been cleared apart from the broken cars on the hard shoulder) on a quiet M5 in the pelting rain. Today we visit the floating market on the Trent and Mersey Canal in Great Haywood.....the sun is out to play at the moment so we'll get the e-bikes out and combine the floating market with a bit of a bike ride. Hope everyone is enjoying a chocolatey Easter:D

Picking Harvey up on Friday from our local Adria dealer with a clean bill of health ready for the next 12 months travelling......then starting the year as we mean to carry it on......packing for our trip to Greece starting next Tuesday 10th April...so we've got 4 days 'give or take' to get him all packed up and ready to go :D:whistle:

If it ever stops raining, I will be washing the van, and power washing all the mud from the Chester Rally out the wheel arches and the chassis. I reckon there must be a good 50KGs of stuck dried mud under the van, plus the dollops that were flung onto the front by the tractor pulling us off the site :D
Still it was all worth it, fist rally in new van, first Funster Rally, renamed for next year as the Chester Funster Floating Rally :)

We’re very excited... my husband retired last week and we’re preparing for our first trip to Germany and perhaps Italy. We will have to return in six weeks time for a scheduled shoulder replacement - then we’ll set off for a longer trip to Norway. :D:D:D

Staying with friends in Teddington, they are off on a months cruise so having a meal before they go. Lucky buggers..

What I should have been doing this weekend is going down to Bordeaux to pick up a MH we ordered over 2 weeks ago, left a deposit and and paid the rest by bank transfer 11 days ago. Despite the closure of our local branch line and the predicted nationwide railway strikes we had sorted everything; arranged for a friend to drop us off at the train station, bought two tickets for the TGV, planned a leisurely lunch in Bordeaux and then a short tram ride over to the dealers.

Then, yesterday I got a call from the dealer asking where our payment was. His colleague in accounts had no record of it. We knew that the bank transfer had left our account on the 23rd so it was rather a shock. I was out on Mole Patrol so I relayed the message to Little Wife at home and she forwarded the transfer details to said 'colleague' who, after about 45 minutes found the missing €30,000 payment that she had received on the same day that we had sent it.

Today, an e-mail from the dealer saying that a 'Chargeur' had fallen and broken and had to be replaced meaning that the van wouldn't be ready tomorrow. Could we come next Friday? Next Friday is a national railway strike day so no, we can't.

Fortunately, a friend has offered to run us the 170km down to the dealer on Friday. So next week................

We are off to Castleton C&M Club site until Thursday (Peak District) any one else their

Camped at A very damp Dare valley country park! Not one of my better choices but atleast I have beer

Camped by the beach. Took half an hour to light the barbecue in the breeze last night. Woke to stillness and sun. BF8C38EB-DBB5-451D-A8E0-10D14C25BAB1.jpeg

Change of plan for the weekend! Went to Canterbury P&R. Couldn't go to Lymington 'cos I went to the Dr on Friday evening and my BP was sky high so I've got to go to the hospital on Monday for blood test and ECG. He's upped my BP tablets and the BP is now back to normal so hopefully everything will be OK.

Just fitted a triple 12 volt power point which runs off the habitation battery so we can charge our mobile phones over night. Also fitted a gas and smoke detector, and repaired the ornamental bedroom ceiling led lights, One isn't quiet the right color but it will have to do. Next job is to convert the Boot into a kennel for the dog.

Tuesday 10th April around 11.30 a.m. we leave for our 2 month trip through Italy down to Greece. Does anyone know if the pub near the P&R in Canterbury still doing lovely food...my OH is celebrating his birthday today so I thought we might go out to eat. Train to Calais in the morning 07.50:D
