What are you up to this weekend?

Habitation check this morning at marquis Motorhomes Preston then when that’s done up to derwent water Caravansite Keswick for four days . Will be taking a lot of warm clothing lol.
Just got here quite a few mh not so many caravans but no sign of life .

Did you get down here for granddaughters birthday party? The roads are a nightmare!
No we haven’t travelled down today, we were checking the weather for tomorrow, it’s supposed to be warmer ha ha 6 deg, and no snow, will see what the roads are like

The roads are crap at the moment. We have snow falling on top of ice on top of snow on top of ice.

We have had the motorhome from new and she is now 18 months old and and the bulge/bubble has not got any worse. To be honest, having spent time investigating the cause and satisfying myself that it wasnt delamination, I can see no reason why it should get any worse.

The biggest issue is that the dealer no longer holds the franchise so they are less than enthusiastic to get involved or carry out any repairs and have palmed it off onto the manufacturer for the side to be replaced. Thankfully the manufacturer has been very professional in their approach to the situation.
It seems that Swift are acting professionally in your case.

I would ask for the job to be rescheduled to a more convenient time for you.

Other manufacturers appear to be less willing to accept responsibility for manufacturing faults. Take their offer, but at a time of your choosing.

Its a cosmetic issue being claimed under warranty, the bulge/bubble itself is smaller than size of a table tennis ball cut in half.

My reservation is based upon sending our watertight motorhome with no damp issues away to have the entire side removed and a new side installed requiring the refitting of windows, hab door, garage door, gas locker door, BBQ point, water filler, etc, all of which will have been removed from the original side before being re-installed. The risk for hairline cracks or leaks is very real and any issues will need to be addressed direct with the factory moving forward because our supplying dealer no longer has the franchise.

Having spoken to the factory today, with the delay due to the weather, we are unlikely to get our motorhome back until the end of May and the thought of losing the use of it for three months for a small cosmetic issue is making me question the whole thing. :(

I personally dont believe that the side needs replacing. My current thinking is to submit a repair plan to the factory and if they agree to the process, then I will carry out the work myself.

However, I have taken on board your comments and I will sleep on it and see how I feel about it in the morning. (y)

The bulge/bubble is just below the bottom left corner of the this window, as I said, its cosmetic and unless you know its there, you most likely may not even see it.

Probably not the best position but could be covered with a pretend flap/connector/reflector/aerial point/badge /crit air sticker/fun sticker rather than take the side off?

Off to Newcastle on Sunday. Hotel and train booked, weather permitting. How bad is it in Newcastle, any of you guys know.
Thanks John.

Well we made it down to Dorset for our granddaughters birthday today, travelled down yesterday and roads were better than we thought they would be. Sun is shining today and was a warm night in Motorhome

We’ve had a nice time at West Stockwith . Had a the usual walk up the canal to Misterton and back . Some real ale in the White Hart . Freezing out , but toasty warm in Pug .
We’re heading home after a big Sunday Lunch in the Waterfront .
Glad you made it to your Grandaughters party Val n Bob xx

Clearing out the mh and getting rid of some stuff we thought we needed but never used all ready for the handover on the 16th

Sat in a very quiet Dover docks.. arrived at 9.50.. 10.00 was full. Quick trip to Spa. Back late sunday in time for tea and medals.

going to thurnham hall for a few days, not in bus in car.

I’m working Friday and Saturday this week so we aren’t away .
I’m promoting Amstel beer on Saturday, handing out samples , so I should be very popular!

It’s quite fitting actually as we are going to Amsterdam next weekend.

Picking up a Caravan from John Wicks - I thought he was a murderer in a movie

Senior management’s sister has bought a Caravan but hubby is not confident yet to tow it home - sigh......

So as ex tiggers it apparently falls on me - West Ham, rugby and beer is now off today’s agenda

Girls hey........

That will be well mucky by the time you get home today, with the rain and all the muck on the roads from the beet. Will you be washing it down as well, haha.

I read the first line and thought you were changing ... again!

We're off to a small CS at Burnham Market or as it's often called in these parts,
Chelsea-by-the-Sea, for a couple of days. That's if the old Mercedes can make it after standing around for over a week :dance2:

Off to Burrs Country Park for a long weekend. Ann is singing with Rockchoir during the day on Sunday at Bury station, from about 11.30 ,the hearth of the ram Ramsbottom, fire pit restaurant Rawtenstall, the brown cow pub and the trackside pub both Bury. All this and a steam train ride. What’s not to like? They are raising money for the East Lancs Railway.
The same thing is happening on Saturday with other Rockchoir choirs. Not sure if the itinerary is identical but I can check if anyone is interested. Mike
