What are you up to this weekend?

Just about to set off for Westbury White Horse via Gloucester to drop off an eBay sale and then across to the Caen hill locks at Devizes Saturday and Sunday.
Friends are coming over from Bristol in the afternoon and out for a curry and a few Tiger beers in the evening. :drinks:

Paperwork sitting at my laptop at home - probably all day as I’ve done none during the half term week. Tonight twin grandsons aged 12 coming for sleep over just for the one night. Then hoping tomorrow Saturday a nice day out somewhere - then oldest sons for the evening. Don’t know about Sunday yet perhaps a chill day????

Celebrating a MOT pass with only one very minor advisory !

Trip to the beach

Woohoo

Things went well today(y) We are almost there just a few niggly bits to finish off. Maureen supplied a heap of coffee, and when needed gave a hand. I worked through from 0900-1600, just wanted to get the damned thing finished.
We found a couple of things that could have been mortal IF we'd used the old fridge on gas. The bit that funnels the gas fumes out of the vent was lying at the bottom of the carcass, and the pipe feeding the gas into the fridge, was only hand tight. This was after a hab check, paid for by the last owners, before selling to us, by a firm in this area that told us "we don't work on M/Hs as old as yours"
So tomorrow everything should be up and running!

I’ve got quite an easy weekend, golf in the morning and nothing as yet planned for Sunday, hopefully a nice leisurely weekend, hope you all have a good one

We are in Ellesmere. Last minute trip to collect skis and other gear obtained from eBay (skis for me) and Gumtree (skis for Gilly) then on to Decathlon in Manchester for some bags and poles as in our madness we have signed up for four nights torture in Glencoe in a couple of weeks.

Gonna be a comedown from the alps methinks..... however I understand the bar is in the car park. Oh dear....

PS. The pup doesn’t ski currently.

The wedding was lovely and we had a wonderful time
They were so happy on their special day .
So glad it was a good do!!!

This is what I’m up to this morning, grading commercial truck casings .Some go into manufacturers but most these days are scrap. And scrap tyres for us is a massive problem and an expensive one.Its now costing us about £4000.00 a month to dispose of car tyres alone:eek:.Its all part of environmental bandwagon that exists now.

Just put the interior back on an MG TF 'cos my son found a leak in his. Also fitted three more fluorescent lights in the garage - the MG job proved the need for more light

It's amazing just how bad some people let their tyres get before replacing them.:Eeek:

I could write a book about it Brian ,some people just haven’t got a clue when their tyres are worn and worst ,it is very scary really.

Yes, I agree it's so dangerous ... I tend to go the other way and change them with a couple of thousand miles left.

That’s a good mindset to get into Brian, people just don’t realise how important the tyres are to the safety of the vehicle.

I hope the owner gets you to check his tracking & adjust it, otherwise he/she is wasting their money.
Just incredible how some people ignore this type of wear, that is until their MOT is due!
Did I hear something about old tyres can be shredded and used in the tar mac mix put down on roads, for extra grip in places like sharp corners and pedestrian crossings?

@TinaL they also use old tires for that stuff at childrens playgrounds. This weekend trying to get the house ready for us going away for a few weeks. Not got the extra bedding back in the eaves from the Christmas visitors

Yes but the tyres were under 5 years old so not out of date yet. Haha
You can scorn the 5/7yr option to change as much as you want, but I’ve witnessed first hand many times in my 44yrs in the tyre industry, the horrendous results of trying to push tyres further.
