What are you up to this weekend?

Pickering for us .
We've decided we're going to buy a house there within the next 5 years. So we like to go and spend the odd weekend there , walking the streets , checking out which bit we'd prefer to live in. Chatting to the locals in the pubs and shops etc. No doubt a curry will be on the cards at spice4U too. It'd be rude not to !

Going to stay in bed, recovering from looking after 6 and 4 year olds for two days on school nights. We can't understand how we did it fulltime, even when younger. We do love to have them but they do tire us out.

Trying to motivate myself to get out and clean/detail our motorhome.

Its the silly season for the marine side of my business on the run into Easter so I have been machine polishing boats and waxing them pretty much back to back so my tank is running near empty!

At least I can crash out on the sofa and watch the six nations later today and again tomorrow. (y)

Yep being a grandparent is bloody hard work, but very rewarding. We certainly sleep well at night after we have had ours.

I've been stripping the lounge wallpaper whilst Max demolished the hideous 80's fireplace that we inherited with our bungalow in December.
It's amazing what you find hidden in fireplaces obviously the workman couldn't be bothered throwing out his lunch rubbish so hid it behind the bricks along with half a bag of coving adhesive.
The Coke can is advertising the 1988 Olympics.

Woke up, well was woken up early by someone who fancied a distance breakfast so left home at 0630hrs and had a delicious breakfast in Southend-On-Sea. Got there a bit early so had to wait for Rosses to open at 0830am. Anyway had breakfast then walked up to Leigh for a quick half. Lovely walk on a lovely day. I kid you not, Southend has a lot going for it....and it is full of Essex boys and girls to boot...(y)

NEC tomorrow not spending any money though :LOL:
Well we didn't quite manage this although spent less than a tenner on a couple of replacement LED spotlights for the van.

We still had a great time with some friends there and had a meal and a few drinks in our hotel after - definitely spent a bit more than a tenner there though!

When did cleaning your motorhome, car, motorbike become detailing? when I worked in the motor trade as a panel beater it was called washing or cleaning. Is the term detailing used to make it sound grander than it really is?

Still at Cabo de Gata - lovely sunny weather now!! :)

On the move again tomorrow to Mojacar area - camping Cuevas Mar hopefully - if not then maybe Cueva Negro or El Cantal de Mojacar (nearly always space there)

I washed, cleaned, machine polished, clayed and buffed out both paint and GRP surfaces and then went around tidying up the edges of the silicone sealant, used a glaze on the cab area and then applied a coat of wax.

Some people would call that 'Cleaning', other people would call parts of what I did 'Detailing'.

Who is right, I wouldn't dare judge. :)

Getting the van ready for my 1st trip to Spain in a couple of weeks… today curtains & nets washed and drying; still scratching my head on where/how I'm going to stow the twin tub, genny, oil rad and coolmycamper… space is valued in the ol' Hymer 640… now find my self dreaming of motorhomes with hangar sized stowage garages. Oh, the extravagant luxury of it!! Why oh why, did I choose a smaller van when I could have had more length for my $… but that said I wanted compact.

...you love it really:D....we're off on March 18th on a long meander through France from the tunnel down to El Puerta de Santa Maria on the Atlantic....back up through Barcelona and then France to the tunnel for the end of May.....you never know we may come across each other...enjoy your travels:D

Now that sounds like a grand adventure… and judging from the map, El Puerta de Santa Maria seems close to Cadiz which is where the compass points, so we will keep a look-out for you, of course, "...the idea is to remain in a state of constant departure whilst always arriving…" enjoy :)

Nice one..I like it:D yes, El Puerta de Santa Maria is just across the water from Cadiz it's one of the reasons we like it and we can walk from the campsite to catch the ferry to Cadiz....a grand adventure indeed, our first in the MH and we are really looking forward to it. Happy travels :D

Well done the both of you and good thinking, lacking the sharing foresight now have a passenger rather than a p2; guess each partnership has a different dynamic, incidentally we live two miles from Rockingham, small world... enjoy :)

:-( :-( We'll be starting our long journey home. Making a detour on the way to meet up with some friends in Gabarone then back to Jo'burg and overnight to Heathrow followed by that picturesque and delightful meander around the M25.

It's been exceptionally hot down here this year (37C forecast for today), 6 weeks and not a drop of rain, dams are dangerously low.

Once back it's heads down to plan my next campervan bimble.
By this time of year I've usually worked it as far as Calais but undecided whether left, right or straight across - this year I can only see as far as the end of my drive.
I'd really like to see a bit more of GB but I'd miss the space and freedom of France........ still pondering.
