What are you up to this weekend?

Yes and even after many trips silly things still happen!!( like driving off with the electric plug still in!!eek!) not recommended! We had a laminated sheet to tick off jobs!

Not driven off with the electric hooked up yet, but do have a check list, good idea to laminate as things either get done twice or missed when we are both getting ready for the off.

Rob did! ( I'm such a snitch!) when in Ypres and luckily I was outside the van so he hadn't driven far but it completely pulled the plug off ! Luckily amongst all his c--- /stuff he had the tools to mend it!!
Live electric wire!! I kept thinking all those Belguim and French neighbours were sniggering into their wines!!

Thanks guys....hoping we won't drive off with EHU plugged in:( having a list definitely makes sense....we 'do' lists in our house...have a long one for tomorrow :D

Have a great time , best way to learn is to use it (y)

Heading to Bletchley Park with the grandchildren who are interested in the Codebreakers of WW2.

Staying in a hotel tonight (shock/horror) then visiting Bletchley Park tomorrow.

Not this weekend but early next week. Angola visa has finally come through so sometime next week I'll be taking the flight of my life.
I've flown a fair deal with my son but this next trip will be from Port Elizabeth to Jo'burg (BA flight).
Train to Pretoria.
Then heli (Squirrel) to Sun City to top up fuel then longish hop to Maun in Botswana, refuel then to Rundu on Bots/Angola border for overnight.
Next day to Ondangwa (still in Bots) flying along the edge of Etosha, refuel then across the border to Lubango and possibly on to Luanda but might need another overnight before that last leg.
Some aircraft registration to be done in Luanda then son flies east to a mine somewhere in the bush to start 3 months areial surveying and I fly back to Jo'burg and PE.
With this type of flying you get to see just how big, and empty, Africa is.
I savour every moment even if son is an ABBA fan and listens to their hits all day, every day (repeated through our headphones :-) )

I'm going to Waxham in sunny Norfolk, for our maiden voyage in Derek! (don't ask:))
If the SAT TV works, Ill being watching the rugby. If not will have to find a pub with it on(y)

It's Ralph's turn to be on call, workwise for a week, so I've booked this Saturday in to work . I'm doing fri, sat, mon, tue next week too, then that's it for February and March . So we shall be getting away a few weekends .

This weekend ?.... Being vanless, I'm going stir crazy and I'm desperate for a change of scenery, so I'll be ringing round a few B&Bs across the Lakes, with the intention of heading over early Monday for a bit R&R (after weekend tourists have left)

In Rome having just had fantastic meal after the Scottish game (great result!!). pity about England France. Hope it's a great game tomorrow.

Stayed at the Pilot Inn at Dungeness last night and had a lovely fish and chips meal

Sooooo our first night was sooooo special.....absolutely lovely....the weather was fantastic...and we found an LPG garage about 2 miles from Chirk so we were able to fill our newly fitted LPG gas system. Things we've learned.....1) the van is not noisey, I expected there to be rattles of all sorts but ....no rattles...some squeaks when we hit bumpy roads but no rattles.....mind you I had taken careful note of all the advice I received on here and used lots of tea towels. 2) we need to Google local LPG stations....3) need to have mud flaps fitted...4) need silver screens 5) need jumbo levelling ramps. 6) it's very hot on board...make sure the heating is set at 2 or 3 no higher. But.....we had a lovely trip....had a delicious supper with some champers to welome KC to the family....OH had a hearty sirloin steak..I'm pescatarian and do not eat meat...I had delicious piece of salmon...we both had garlic mushrooms and totatoes..with warm baguette. Watched a bit of TV then had an early night........slept well though I was very hot during the night and had to get up and turn the heating down..mmmmmmm much better....slept well for me.....have hip arthritis so night time is not that good....had a leisurely breakfast and left around 11.00...discharging waste water before leaving the site....that went well. On the way home I decided to 'bite the bullet' and took over driving on the M54 and then on the A 449...just to get the feel...looking forward to lots more driving....but my OH is a sickly passenger so we shall have to wait and see. We have to take her back tomorrow....the Thetford is not working very well...the red 'full' light keeps flashing ....we explored that...we think the cassette may may leaking and causing a 'short' ..so back she will go to have that fixed. We used Tesco bio in the holding tank and it worked much better than the Loo Blue....so 'thank you, guys'...that's a tip I picked up here. We definitely enjoyed our night away and are really looking forward to our long trip in the spring.
