What are you up to this weekend?

Friday night, drinks with next door neighbour for her birthday. Then who knows! It's half term and we have a beautiful motorhome sat on the drive, but not a lot of spondulicks to play with. Can't decide what to do! Brit Stops book arrived today, so may try that option. Anybody got any suggestions?

Are you in the CCC Gerri ? They always have lots of cheap rallies and even temp holiday sites in the school Holls. Up and down the country. Or do what we do , phone a nice country pub, ask if you can park in the carpark if you book in for a meal . In the winter we always get a yes.

Gerri there is a ccc rally organised by Coventry DA at Warren Farm, Brean Sands for £10 per night with ehu. We are going next Wednesday for 4 nights. It's on the ccc website or google Coventry DA and details are one there.

Or find a CL or CS site. The one we stayed in last weekend was only £13 a night with EHU, water on each pitch, grey and black disposal plus a toilet / shower / wash-up module.

Remember you don't have to go far from home to have a lovely break.

Thanks for this! I've just checked it out and texted someone to see if there is still room! A bit worried as we won't know anyone!

Me neither! Apart from my sister who is also going. We aren't getting there until Wednesday afternoon but thought it looked good and as long as you are a member of the camping and caravan club and take your membership cards with you all should be ok.

Will be planting water lilies and other water plants including bulrushes on and around my Angling club lake that has been drained, widened, reshapen and dredged to make deeper. £10,000 of new Tench, Roach, Bream Crucian Carp to be added when lake has been refilled by natural springs.
:reel::reel::reel::reel:
Whereabouts is your club lake? Is it open to the public? We are always looking for new venues, but now we have the motorhome we are finding it harder to find lakes with camping near enough to lug the mountain of tackle!

Hi, thanks for your interest but it is a member's only lake.
I can recommend Gabriels fishery in Edenbridge, Kent. I often camp and fish there. There is a camping field right next to the complex of lakes. Check out their website.
Tight lines!:reel:

Don't worry about that Gerri, we always go as a couple . Not en masse.
We very rarely know anyone when we go.
When we leave , we do!
If you go to these rallies regularly , you get to see familiar faces from various district associations .
You don't have to mingle if you don't want , you can if you do.

Hi! Funny you should say that, as I had just seen that one and looked at the website, but unfortunately the camping bit closed at the end of September! Will definitely try it though..looks brilliant.

I caught my personal best Perch (2lb 9oz) at this venue earlier in the season and am in line for a trophy from my club at the prize giving next year.
I've reserved a place on the mantelpiece!

Used to love Amen Corner, saw them in Edinburgh once. My sister won a competition in Fab mag to meet Andy and Steve Ellis from Love Affair, she travelled to London and they took her to a stall to buy soup and one of them gave her a lucky sixpence. I thought at the time last of the big spenders.:(
This weekend I'm going to watch said sister's 18yr old grandson play rugby.
