What are you up to this weekend?

We're outside a citadel in Portugal planning to visit today. Another nights free camping in Monseraz.

What's a citadel anyway?

Spending the weekend fitting a new water pump and alternator to Baz in the hope that this will get him ship shape for our first proper trip away over half term. Still not planned exactly where we're going back that's half the fun

Spent the morning hoovering and steaming wooden floors, sweeping up leaves, picking up apples from next doors tree ( :swear2:), and some 11+ tutoring with my daughter.

Had the bike MOT'd this morning, so hopefully be out on it tomorrow before the storms set in. In between I will be carrying on with sorting the rainwater drains which have become blocked.

We've had to replace the oven and washing machine at home .
Both went within days of each other. So having a weekend at home .
Ralph's replacing the electric motor on the window, drivers side on the Motorhome today too.
It's been sticking.

We've just done a 2 hour busk in aid of Cancer Research's 'Stand Up To Cancer' campaign :-)

Tomorrow we will be giving 'Shirley' her annual clean and polish and then planting-up some daffodils. (There's so much green stuff on Shirley's roof, we could plant the daffodils there!)

Did some maintenance on our 22t digger this morning in the middle of the Forrest with my son, mainly welding:eek: Its in the 30s in the shade here, an I'm welding in direct sunshine, I'm Knackered!!!:whew:
I'm off to have a look at Twin Lakes Campsite tomorrow; its only a couple of hrs away, and we will be going to the meet in May(y) and if I don't go somewhere I'l get dragged into more work:rolleyes:

I think I've just played at apple day in aid of Cancer research, the problem with apple day is........ you guessed it CIDER, it's not particularly wonderful (the cider that is) but it's incredibly potent, so i'm feeling very impotent now..... is that right? Noooo, that would be important, sod that cider, hic!

Not away in the MH this coming weekend, got to work Saturday morning :frowny: and then off to the O2 to see Lady Gaga with DD on Sunday

I like Lady Gaga I spotted her at Heathrow a while ago, she had just flown in from Israel wearing only a g-string I had this overwhelming feeling to follow her through the airport but her large helpers preferred me not to follow her into the lift. She is great on stage too. Have a great night. Who is DD?

Eurotunnel Friday evening, heading for a week in Amsterdam.....

Got to get the van damp tested at Portsmouth on Friday, so off to Corfe Castle for a long weekend!

Eastbourne to see daughter and her newish husband, then 4 nights at which ever Brit stops take our fancy. Interspersed with walks along the beach or Southdowns, pub lunches with real ale and log fires, evenings tucked up in the Moho slippers on, DVD box sets. Bliss, we know how to live it up... 17 year old youngest son might go a tad stir crazy though!

Nothing this week because the poor old van needs a rest, Last week though:
Monday Went to NEC and stayed overnight.
Tuesday, Saw show, got jealous, left drove to West Auckland on A68 parked up.
Wed. Drove to North Berwick looked around and at the LAW parked up at Bard Ness got rained on so hard it sounded like a conveyor belt of gravel on the roof and very blowy too on a cliff top..
Thurs. Went to Edinburgh to drop off an aircraft engine to a buyer ( good sized Garage on a Chausson) went to Loch Lomond stayed on a site up the shoreline, more rain.
Friday. drove to Lake District stayed at Patterdale got rained on with more heavier gravel rain, only harder, making it difficult to sleep.
Saturday. Drove over the passes to Settle into the Harrogate area, TOM TOM got us thoroughly lost in tiny lanes trying to avoid non existent M/ways of the Dales then to the A1 and drove home.
Arrived in Dover, Knackered. purpose of trip see show, deliver engine. Done with diversions because it was worth it while we were there? It rains a lot up there does it not.

Very cheap deal with Haven, 7 days for £63.90 at Haggerston Castle North Northumberland, keen birders so a five minute drive from Holy Island, Lindisfarne. Weather looks intersting over next 48 hours!

Saurday move to hotel, hoast dinner for long distance relitives
Sunday Daughters wedding Day,
Monday rest, count pennies left in bank

We are off up to Largo tomorrow until Tuesday. Might go hunting Scottish Rubies on the beach whilst the drake is fishing. We are hoping the weather won't be tooooo bad and are taking the bikes.
Monday wasn't too bad and we got out for the bike ride. Did 16 miles down to Elie (the tide was in so didn't get to go ruby hunting) and back. We will probably go back next year and spend longer.

We went because it isn't too far from where we live (last minute decision to have the weekend away) and we'd not been there before. Lots of interesting geology with the raised beaches if you are into geology.

Next weekend is the Perth Canoe Show, we were going to take the van and have a couple of days but think we may just go for the day as the weather seems to have turned.

I'm working Friday and Saturday at Monks Cross sainsburys . Then we've got a few friends coming over Saturday night to ours. Sunday , just chilling . After I've made Sunday lunch of course .

The Badknees will be heading to Southport on Friday afternoon for the weekend

Friday night, drinks with next door neighbour for her birthday. Then who knows! It's half term and we have a beautiful motorhome sat on the drive, but not a lot of spondulicks to play with. Can't decide what to do! Brit Stops book arrived today, so may try that option. Anybody got any suggestions?
