Vaccine Passports..

Of course a 'NHS APP' as a carrier relies on everybody having a Mob. that could download the necessary info.

We!!! have a phone. WE use this ONE phone for US.

We already have the situation where Mrs Emmit has received her second jab because she received info. by text. When I received a phone call AFTER her jab (she's younger??? ) to offer me my second jab I enquired as to why I hadn't been contacted by text.
"We only have your phone number. We don't have your Mob." ARRGGGHHHHH!

I think it is down to your surgery if they put the info there.
Yes they did about 5 weeks ago with all my health records, now the the covit vaccination record has gone where I had access to it befor its has been replaced by a message to contact my surgery, I did that and they don't know why its not there, l wondered if anyone else had this problem.

Have you checked the app thoroughly mine is under medicines, different surgeries put it in different places.

Just checked, mine is in under immunisations.

A United Kingdom vaccine passport needs to be recognised and accepted by all other countries weather travelling by land sea or air and our Government has got its nickers in a right twist over this and cannot decide which form this will take. By the time they actually agree what form it will take it will be too late. A right balls up!

Just noticed the travel vaccination passport along with the QR code has been uploaded to the NHS app, now just need to know where and when I can use it.

A big step forward. We just need confirmation this will be accepted by countries outside of the UK. Agreement appears to be close.

Just got it on myGp app had to upload a photo it confirms I've been vaccinated but no QR code.

Maybe I have this wrong but having been "double-jabbed" does not stop you from being a Covid carrier.
Any passport would need to be linked to a (PCR) test and then only be valid for a number of days from that test.

This is separate from the heath records showing the vaccination date's etc, its a separate section that shows the 2 vaccinations then after agreeing to share my data the QR code was downloaded.

Several friends have used it since the 17th to go to Portugal and no issues. Disagree it’s a balls up, quite straightforward

You are correct, that is an email confirming you have had the PCR and it negative. The passport is simply confirmation you have been jabbed, with what, when and how many times.

My granddaughter has just come out of isolation after having Covid-19, I'm l correct in think if she gets the NHS app this info.will be on it and can be down loaded if required.
One of Spain's rules of entry is if you have had Covit-19 a PCR test for entry is not required if a certificate can be produced, paper or digital.

forget going to the States anytime soon if you have had the AZ vaccine as it's not recognised there as part of the vaccine passport.

no it won't be on her records. we both had china virus in November, it is not recorded on our NHS app. The vaccines are. wife asked the nurse at the doctors when having blood tests if it would be on our records. The nurse seemed shocked that we wanted it on our records.

For anyone watching this thread that thinks having both jabs offers immunity from covid I can assure you it does not. I've had two Astrazeneca vaccinations, the second about six weeks ago. I had mild symptoms on Wednesday last week and took a Pcr test the following day which came back positive. Thankfully the vaccine is doing it job and my symptoms are fairly mild, like mild flu or a bad cold, some fever but paracetamol is controlling that well. Strangely it's day five today and my sense of taste and smell has just disappeared.

Hope everything returns to 'normal' soon and you do not get more symptoms

There was an interesting stat on the radio yesterday by one of the boffins that as a double jabbed 67 year old he was still twice as likely to die from covid as an unjabbed 30 year old.
No vaccine is 100%
The odds of either event though are really low.

How can we stop new variants emerging?

The SARS-CoV-2 virus makes around one or two mutations a month. This sounds quite a low number, and is in fact lower than for other viruses, including influenza. The more the virus circulates, however, the more opportunity it has to change. So anything that can be done to suppress spread of the virus will help to limit new variants emerging, including distancing, mask wearing, and handwashing.

The stats we use are for people dying WITH covid not from covid

Before using such a term (Refusenik) of offence to many please consider the origins:
The term ‘refusenik’ (the anglicised version of the Russian otkaznik), which spread across the globe in the early 1980s, was used to describe the hundreds of thousands of Soviet Jews (and also other minorities such as ethnic Germans of the Volga region) who were refused permission to emigrate.

These Soviet Jews, most of whom sought to build a new life for themselves in Israel, were persecuted as dissidents and traitors.

But unless theres another reason why the people with covid would be more likely to die of something else they form such a small percentage of the population that the odds of a significant number dying of something else within 28 days are vanishingly small. I think the with rather than from argument is a bit of denial.

Javid on radio 4 this morning said it makes sense to treat people who have had both jabs differently while referring to discussions to be held in parliament
