Those happy days, YouTube.

I didn't think it would end well, the truth is I still believe it's the wrong base vehicle and was never going to work out well whatever was done to it and whoever did it. I think the couple were trying to be too clever in their pursuit for a 'stealth camper'. For the type of off grid living they do, there are too many height barriers in the places they like to go.

Did they reveal total cost yet? LtT spent 6/7 weeks, so I bet that wasn't cheap and there were a couple of others spending at least a week or two doing odd jobs, plus storage overheads at the unit they were working from.

And to do van of that size with no toilet and a bed that doesn't seem to have been thought through just doesn't make sense.
According to Liam the terrible, he only charged them £5800 for the whole 7 weeks, he says they had more than that in free stuff, don't know how much the other two guys charged, but I would think Liam and Janine got away with less than 10 grand for the build.
In my opinion and that's all it is as other people like different things the bed should have been at the back with some sort of lift up arrangement, don't know what but they have plenty height, then it could then have been length ways and each could get in and out without disturbing the other.
That bed they have now is going to be a pain to get in and out of.
The decking is a complete waste of money and weight , wouldn't like to be up there with a bottle of wine and fall off the side.
The log burner similar.
No special toilet would be a complete deal breaker for me.
Again it's only my opinion so matters not one jot, just a shame to see a good project ruined.

In the live stream last night, Liam said he was paid £4800 for the labour MisterB

I doubt this figure includes the labour for the other guys who worked on the van, but that still seems incredibly cheap for 7-8 weeks work in a premises (IMO).

EDIT: chaser beat me to it :giggle:
(I thought I heard £4800, but could be wrong)

He said he charged 4800 and had no problem as that is what he quoted them. Latest video is an apology. I don't really think it was needed as I said before they were just stating facts.

Yeah sorry I was wrong it was £4800 but they had more than £5000 in free stuff.

He has apologised to Liam the terrible now.

Comes across as someone holding a gun to his head! On a positive he did refer to Liam and not "the van builder"
Yes I think they have have some troubles and worries we don't know about and just making things worse with this van build.

One thing about the last two videos, Janine is not seen or heard from.

I'd imagine that furniture van bodywork will resonate a lot on the road resulting in a constant boom sound ?
It also seems to leak like sieve
Wouldn't you think they'd have fixed leaks before converting.
Is Liam the terrible a recognized van converter, the vlogs of his I've seen, he always seems to have lots of unresolved problems with his vans that never get fixed.
It wouldn't inspire me with confidence.

No he isn't, he said that last night, that's why he didn't charge them much, he just wants enough to get by and enjoys the job, as a rule.
And mostly did what they asked even though he advised them different.

Really?? I know they ended the last video abruptly but I assumed there was an issue with one of their relatives back in Wales

If it's true, it's a real shock, I thought they worked well as a team/couple.

Hope they're both OK, whatever the situation is?
it’s like a drama series ( good for views ) with these van life YouTube videos .
I noticed Gadget John and his wife have split up and she’s got her own van now . Oh the drama

Could you put up with being married to Gadget John?😂

On a serious note . I don’t find it amusing that they have encountered problems with their relationship and I do admire the open and honest nature of the video . I guess they feel they owe it to their subscribers.
He is still a complete and utter bodger and I advise anyone to ignore pretty much everything he says with regards to van builds , in particular the electrical aspect . My opinion on that hasn’t changed .

I couldn’t watch all of Liam the Terrible’s poor me video but he accused Liam and Janine of using him for their channel. A bit rich given that he was also using their van build for his own channel. I thought Happy Days Liam was just documenting their week with the new van. Liam the van converter seemed to take it all too much to heart, all of them are putting the videos out showing their lives and know what to expect surely.
As we all agree, the whole project looked doomed the moment they showed us the vehicle they had bought!

I think it also shows the price to be paid for being a youtube vlogger and trying to earn a crust from your channel.
You have to lay your life out for all to see, pick over and take the critisism.
It must take a certain sort to do that.

I think it’s all for the views , subscribers,ad revenues and drama . The American YouTube van life “ drama” community is huge , with subscribers tuning in daily 😂

And that is the crux of this sorry tale, right from the start I did say they aren't the sort of usual folks you see doing this sort of lifestyle, to put it simply they are too nice to take it when something doesn't go how they want it to and they are trying to mix with people who are well hardened to the style.
If it wasn't for trying to make money out of YouTube they would have been far better buying a proper old motorhome ready done.

Only asking but why don’t you do subscribe on you tube.
Am I doing something wrong. ?
Mate, I said this before, earlier in the thread, no idea how this subscribing works, when they say press the button to subscribe, I haven't got one, where is it?
It is the same with all the YouTube things I look at, just havnt got a button just a full screen picture.

For those that maybe interested by the “ stats “
Liam the Terrible was at around 16 thousand YouTube subscribers before this “collaboration “ . He has now reached just under 32 Thousand so a very quick and huge increase in subscribers ( and therefore YouTube earnings ) . If this isn’t a set up to get more views and is actually genuine then it teaches us all a very good life lesson .
There is no such thing as a free lunch !
It’s no good increasing your subscriber base from another channel if those new subscribers now feel you have “ fleeced” the channel who sent them your way and make derogatory comments about YOUR channel ! These idiots could do with some basic and fundamental sales training techniques. It’s cringe worthy and embarrassing to watch these idiots implode .

The numbers are truly fantastic , how do they get these sort of figures.

If I Google you tube and search say ( kinging it ) brings up a channel of a delightful Welsh couple how live and tour in there van. I always see a tab that says subscribe this is free it only means that you like there input and crack.
And it is added to the list of channels you like. If that makes sense.
The more subscribers they receive the more advertising and the more revenue they receive from YouTube.

I think Chaz is watching via his smart TV . Not sure how subscribing there works ?

I bet ole mucker gets a fair few watching him
If you know them ,what is the relationship between him and George Saunders, they seem to be very similar.?

It's been explained twice also must have access to you tube on another device, perhaps the one used to post here?

I don’t know them, and yes they are of the same vein. George is Bedford way near the A1, he often does film of him going by frontier grain and co parts at sandy on the A1 on his way to his fields. Also clearing rubbish in his field next to a lay-by on the A1. Not sure where mucker is based

The one I posted on here came up on my Google news for some reason.
