Have travelled the length of The Algarve a few times over the years,,meeting someone here next week.BUSBY.Hell of a rush, you have missed a few gems before Lagos.
should have crossed the bridge then got off dropped down to the river ,turned right and followed the coast around its really lovely.Just used the toll road from Port Covo to Peniche. Michellin's route finder said around 10 euros. I paid 29 euros. Nice drive through Lis on on the big bridge though. There must have been at least 50 men in the water collecting shelfish. Nice views too.
Don't miss Foz do Arelho. Now in Peniche. Super little place and a large Aire near city walls. I'm the only Brit here, surrounded by loads of French and Portuguise with the odd German thrown in for good measure.
Fantastic recommendation. Now looking across the bay at some fantastic scenery.Don't miss Foz do Arelho.
Totally agree with you,it's for when we are on proper aires or campsites Alan.best not use an awning though . specially if wilding . its asking to be moved on for camping .
we never got asked to move or anything last winter but kept to the rules . watched several get moved on but we were left alone .
as far as i,m aware awnings shouldnt be used even if on an aire . or thats what lots of signs say and its in some of the books .
but i do pass the aires and can read things . i do have an old aires book that quite plainly tells not to use awnings etc .Aires come in many guises, a lot in Portugal and Spain are more like small camp sites but of course you wouldn't know that as you never use sites
Maybe I shouldn't have said aire as I think they call them camperparks in Portugal ,here we are at the camper park in Falesia. Very large pitches, this is called a motorhome park.as far as i,m aware awnings shouldnt be used even if on an aire . or thats what lots of signs say and its in some of the books .
