Really? That's surprising.

I've seen folk on here claim over 30mpg out some vans lol
I dont understand why people are so fixated on mpg, given that whatever you have you need to burn some diesel, its the difference in mpg that you need to judge x peoples annual mileage, which on Mh's dont tend to be that much. I reckon most people spend more on extras and repairs each year than that.

Yes, thank you
I'm not bothered about mpg, I don't pay for fuel at motorway service stations.
We used 85 litres to get back from calais to chester. It is what it is.
Your van is a bit obvious for a Drive Off! ;)

I may have missed some posts when we were in France but what happened to the problem with the engine , has that been done now if so what was it?
Yes it's fixed.

It was either , sticky wastegate, hole in turbo hose .

We serviced it , replaced hose as it was damaged , worked waste gate with some release oil all at the same time then test drove it. Red light was gone

Brilliant result (y)
Aye he drives lovely now Charlie... very smooth and quiet. But the usual slow down on hills for a big van so I'm going to have it remapped in a couple of weeks which should improve that

Annual mileage in our Motorhome is 8 to 10 times what we do in the car.
I keep a check on mpg from a interest point of view, it won't go anywhere without fuel so no point in worrying about it.
I don't believe a lot of these high mpg figures people quote I think they like to kid themself.

26mpg average on my 2.3 150bhp 138 compactline over 3500 miles on my last trip.
Used to get 25-26 on my 4.5t Hymer with that engine so I thought the little Compactline would be better m the new 2.2 is supposed to be better but it is the 180 and I'm driving it a lot faster.

The comeradrie you share is fantastic.!!!!
Only scenario to Top that … would be for Lenny B to be there as well.👍🛵🚐🤣
Its the insurance problem that stops us, not going to risk 3rd party on a new van, no way could we afford to replace it if anything happened.

It's the others 3rd party you claim on though if they cause the accident.

So just don't cause any accidents lol and you'll be fine.

There's some very expensive motors in Morocco too.

Not fixated Jon, OK possibly a little bit  just interested really, in France driving like a granny trying to stay within their speed limits and all on back roads with roundabouts we got 17.75mpg, coming home from the tunnel and doing 65 a fair bit of the time the trip average on the dash was going up but can't work it out properly as Jen threw away the bit of paper I had previous fills and miles written on, it was a tailwind though.

I live in mine and I do maybe 10-12k a year most years so no point in me fixating on it. But as most of my parkups are free that makes a big difference to me . I know from just common sense that this van and moby had Same size engine but moby was smaller. Lighter and more streamlined so will definitely get less mpg with this than I did with moby.

Other than that I'll just fill when required as usual

I get irritated by people in VW's making comments about MPG and going to Cornwall :banghead:

My revenge is pointing out that they paid more for their poorly equipped day van than most people pay for a MH and they still have to sh*t in the bushes

Don't get me started on Cornwall.......

Any downsides to a remap?
Physics suggests you can't increase something without a decrease in something else

But they're not likely to list any negatives, are they?
Just paying for it. 😂 I don’t regret getting mine done. It’s a five ton camper so having that bit of help on the hills is great. 👍
