The resurrection of Doc, bringing a 20 year old neismann Bischoff Flair back to life after 12 years off road.

Weather is a joke ...I was out cleaning the polish off ma black bits and got soaked again . I'm now back to hibernating inside having lunch . I've a wee bit wood to glue in my wine cellar but that's about everything inside till my bits arrive off ebay.

One thing the rain does though is make you appreciate a good bead ... and that's before wax View attachment 956082View attachment 956084

Try being a gardener. It's been a bloody nightmare this summer. Yesterday forecast 90 percent of chance of heavy rain all day so planned to be indoors and it didn't rain till 6pm then absolutely shat down. Today chances of very light showers so go to work and it keeps dumping torrential rain on me then the sun comes out so get all hot and take off coat then it goes black again 😡

Aye that's what it's like here today. I stepped outside with the dogs in lovely sunshine earlier. I just bent down to pick up some dog bags to take to the bin and the heavens opened... so it was back inside again. And it's done it everytime I've gone back outside. And weather forecast doesn't show rain till later today.

Jade & Ella thinking " **** me does it never stop raining? get us back to Greece"

I have to say though and this is a grab tissues statement.

I really love my new van , it feels like home and I can't quite believe it's mine sometimes. It feels so much more expensive than what it's cost me and for me it's just perfect. If I could design a van for myself this would be damm near close. The dogs love it too as they've got plenty space and plenty choice of places to lie and get comfy. I can get all my stuff in it without it feeling cramped or untidy. I love my bathroom , I love my bedroom, it's just Aceballs.

And I'm really appreciative of the many people who have helped with the whole transaction from the old van to this one , its been hard going at times , a bit stressful but it's all come together and now I have it in a condition to be proud of I'll be doing my utmost to keep it that way. It's a van I can be proud of

It's almost a year now (29th September) since mum passed and life has done well at keeping me distracted and occupied ...who knows maybe in some other place she had a hand in that ... I Hope she can see what I spent part of my inheritance on .. I was patient lol. My sister spent hers on a new house and brother blew half his on a new car and big feckin fish tank .

I waited as I wasn't sure ... I said if the right van came up I'd have it

And I believe this was the right van.

Now I hope I've not just tempted fate lol.

Never mind being a gardener, although you have my sympathy, what about being an arable farmer and this situation probably goes some way to explain why I didn't want to take on the family farm.
It's hard enough to plan the weather a week ahead, try trying to predict a year, and sometimes two years ahead, with your family wealth & health dependent on you getting it right.

There a lot of jokes about never seeing a poor farmer but in truth you don't see them because many of them used to be on the farm working bloody hard 365days a year!

No food banks and hand outs in those days!

Don't know about where you are but have you had to water any of your outdoor garden this year?
I haven't, first year that I can remember in 70 odd that I have not watered anything.

It feels expensive Tam because when it was new it was equivalent to a £250k van now, you are feeling the quality not the age, happy travels (y)

Aye its hard to beat a bit of good quality Tam, speaking of which I might know a boy selling a nice Roller would maybe do you now your into your quality.... this ones full electric so you could nail a couple of solar panels to the roof of her and away you go, free road tax too! 🤣🤣

Cornwall is the closest thing I've found to the wild Atlantic way. Its rarely warm , rain is never far away and its windy quite a lot.

Not sure why it's so popular with tourists lol.

Well,… you’re still here….😆🤣😂😉

The cause of my window leak was a bit of rubber seal missing. I've sealed that with some ob1 ..I might add a bit more later to try and tidy that up a bit. But hopefully reduces the amount of water that comes in View attachment 955544View attachment 955545View attachment 955547View attachment 955548View attachment 955549

Then we went shopping for some storage boxes .

And I did a few modifications in my side locker to hold the containers and to stop stuff falling off the shelf. I can now store bottles etc along the edge and there's a spot to put my hoover or drill batteries to charge them from the small 300watt inverter .

And generally just tidied up the locker as previous owner had cut the shelf to accommodate a gas bottle in there. So with some leftover 2x1 and plywood from repairs to moby I've created more useful storage areas. And then I stained them and the existing unstained framework in there for the seat base etc. .

P.s the small metal bracket on floor will be painted when I'm painting the towbar etc black.

Next area to sort out will be the garage....

Suggestions for a use for the old battery box are welcome . View attachment 955568View attachment 955569

Fish pond?

By all accounts weather has been better?
Here back up to 34º today:hot:🥵
Only 32° here today ( still in the van going from tree to tree ) :Eeek:
Glad we are not having jobs to do, it's bad enough just keeping cool. 🥵😎 Bob.

Are you sure it's the 'weather' causing that? 😄

🙏 Oh please God make this the truth.
I can’t stand anymore tension, and please - keep Tam away from EBay and other internet sights that advertise vans - campers or otherwise etc - for all our sakes. Thank-you!🙏🙏

😜 Seriously pleased for you though Tam.
Looking forward to reading the next chapter👍.

Tam, are the plants real, they may suffer from lack of light up there.
I have some Air Plants they are much easier to keep & look after, I stuck mine on a bit of old branch and just mist them with water every now & again.
They must be happy as two have reproduced and one had a flower.

You can get quite artistic with them and there are all sorts of types, some that trail too.

Nah they're plastic lol . But look very realistic . I'd forget to water plants to be honest. I wanted lavender plants to ward off mosquitoes but they don't do well inside apparently so plastic ones will have to do. But make good use of those otherwise empty shelves

Thanks Tam. :)
This is the second MH which has had to have the frames out to replace the glass, and the second time on the Flair between owners. :( It took two of us a day and a half to completion, and that was just replacing the static units.
The cost? Thousands if using the likes of Broonfools, Troubleworld, or Floundhams. :(

Cheers,

Jock. :)
Hi Jock, we're you able to get the glass units(s) locally or we're they bought from overseas? Thank you. K
Thanks Tam. :)

Finally caught up, van is looking great. Envy your rain, only a little bit but melting here 29º wish i had aircon, moving on to cooler, supposedly, area tomorrow.
Typical Scot come out for the sun then complain it is too warm 🤣
