The resurrection of Doc, bringing a 20 year old neismann Bischoff Flair back to life after 12 years off road.

It's weird as only one side has the streaks
That wouldn't be the side she leans to by any chance Tam? ;)

Ours tends to get them on the side of the awning, ie, run off from the aluminium mounting frame, and from the conspicuity mirror above the passenger's cab window, which stains the glass. :(

The recent advice we had from a professional detailer was to use Autoglym caravan and MH cleaner, followed by their Resin Polish.

Re the size of the Flair, it's the height which gives many the perception that it is huge, not so much the length. ;)

Tam, can I ask how you got on with insurance and Breakdown Cover with repatriation please?

Cheers,

Jock. :)

I don't take offence Charlie.

You repeatedly think I'm wound up when in truth I'm as calm as a cucumber. 😉

But you are a nippy auld bugger at times 😁

Actually I'm sure that colonite dude was called Charlie too .
That was certainly his user name, he stopped posting when it was pointed out that his advice was “cut and paste” from another forum.

It is on the side it leaned too but I need to remeasure that as when I parked it on a different spot on the driveway the other day and measured it there was only 5mm difference so it may well not be a thing.

My awning side seems OK but it has a seal on the top to stop water coming behind it from the roof.

I use autoglym body conditioner for washing usually . In fact all my stiff is autoglym bar the grp stuff I got from Feltwell and the farecla wax .

Not because I believe its the best out there but its a brand I'm used to and some I've had for years.

I haven't changed my breakdown cover , I'm still with safeguard insurance which provides it with the insurance , and I've still got a nationwide flex account too . I know both have an 8 metre limit apparently but I'm hoping I don't have to use it 🤞🤞

If I need to and they object I'll remove front and rear bumpers lol and I'll come in at 8 metres 🤣🤣🤣

You'd be lucky to lose half an inch from the overall length, never mind half a metre.

The advice I got recently, was to stop using Meguiars GRP products for boats and RVs, despite me using them for years on the GRP front, but instead, use the same Autoglym Resin as used for the painted surfaces. :whatthe:

Cheers,

Jock. :)

Yeah my grp was really flat though so it needed the grp restorer to bring it back up . I did it with srp after that though .

You'd be surprised. At how big the bumpers are . Definitely 400mm between then on mine

Have you tried Fenwicks? When it first came out about 1993 I did a demonstration on a very old caravan at Shepton Mallet show it was amazing it was the first time anybody had seen it sold nearly 150 Lt.still use it today👍

My new OE gear knob arrived yesterday, and at a third of the price of some UK retailers. ;)

Off with the old (which you can see has cracked in two places), and on with the new. That needed a bit of force with a rubber mallet and a spot of silicone spray. ;)

Yes I don't like colonite. I use super resin polish then farecla showroom wax over the top. It's weird as only one side has the streaks
Usually dirt coming off roof causes streaks same with boats

Already have one ,that's what I washed it with today. Never took streaks off though
But did you put baby wipes on the pad? That's what I meant for you to do to rub the streaks off.

David and goliath

You know the more you drive it and look at it the smaller it becomes .....its only really when it's parked next to another one it looks huge View attachment 972817
Uncle Lenny will soon upgrade to something far bigger then yours Tam, I think a grand empire is eminent 😇😆

Autoglym SRP made a right mess of our first Hymer Jock, the front bonnet area, it went so dull and patchy

The very same Part No as the ones we had fitted. Obviously, they compress a fair bit and look shorter once fitted. Are you doing all four Tam?

Cheers,

Jock. :)
It's madness as they list 2 different types and the distance sizes listed are different too. One says no fit other says yes.

But the ones you sent me the link for Said they didn't fit.

I've been under and looked and these certainly look the right ones .

Only doing the front at present but might do the rear next year.

What, even after the shine was restored first Paul? :whatthe: Unlucky. :(

Aye but my roof is spotless
So is ours. I even clean under the solar panels with one of these, as you'd be surprised at the sh1t that comes out. :whatthe:

Yeah I machine polished the entire roof including the skylights then waxed it. Lovely and clean now , rain just runs off . Not a lot of room under my solar panel though.

I get this quite a lot with my Renault master , I have my details entered on eBay with reg number and everything else and yet sometimes when ordering stuff that is the same for every model master it comes up with this won't fit when in the description it says it does.

Yeah I often have to find the part number for the item elsewhere and then just do a search for that.

It went from shiny to really dull with the SRP, so do you use it now on the bonnet of the Flair?

I use it on mine.

But you should really only polish a vehicle twice a year. You can wash and wax it as often as you like but shouldn't need polished all the time

I did for 8 years and it was pretty good when it left us 😀😉
Northernraider. When Rita and I turned up at one of Martin's Meets at Shrewsbury Showground, Jen's first reactions were that she didn't initially recognise their old MH....... A. Because we had changed the Reg No, and........B. Because according to Jen, it was so much shinier than Martin had left it.

As you'll appreciate, I declined at the time to get involved in the discussion between them both..............but felt really chuffed at Jen's observations, (who wouldn't? 😉 )

Cheers,

Jock. ;)

P.S. Sorry Martin. 😉

I do mine every time Christmas falls on the 29th February! 😄
Never polished a motor in my life, what's it for it will only be the same again after the next trip.
