The resurrection of Doc, bringing a 20 year old neismann Bischoff Flair back to life after 12 years off road.

Black streaks come off really easy with baby wipes the cheap ones from Lidl or Aldi, also brilliant for bugs and flies.
I'd need a stepladder though unfortunately. Even at 6 fit 3 I cannae reach 😁

Just had a sort of telephone interview with a campsite in Dorset... it sounds like a fairly relaxed one , mostly a night warden just making sure there's no problems, no noise after 10pm etc and 2 days in office answering phone sending emails etc . Sounds alright , not sure how much it pays yet so waiting to get all those details by email , they had said about popping down to see them but not really possible between now and me going away . So will see what they say .

Had a few response from other ones too just telling me they'd be back in touch after the closing date.

Not as many looking for single wardens though, but I guess it's still early as there's new ones added almost daily .

Some of then though are unreal what they expect for a minimum wage job. Some are expecting 40-60 hours a week lol.

But with a free pitch to stay on etc I only need to make a few hundred quid a week to live off so the part time ones suit me better I think .

A FEW hundred quid a WEEK and you don't want to work 40-60 hours!

You'll be lucky OR am I really out of touch with today's world of work? 😱

Minimum wage now is nearly £12 per hour so 20 hours is 240 quid

20-25 hours is more than enough for me if I'm living on site .

That's the job description

At Last! thanks to the few that helped me remember the Funster MH repair guy, that had great reviews etc I now not only have his name (Dave Newell Leisure Vehicle Services) but also found the useful potential advantage/disadvantage video he did on fitting a tuning box to a MH.(y)
Tam you can watch while having your Tea later on, enjoy.

I doubt you will be doing a lot more than 20 hours , two 8 hour days , 7 12 hour nights,
Plus bank holidays looks more like 120 to me.

My understanding of the evening work Charlie is mostly being on call incase there are any issues.. obviously you have to be paid for that but its not like being out doing manual physical work .

I'll be interested to see what they say in the email she's sending with how much its paying .

But it sounds OK at the minute.

I've not been offered it yet , I've had a chat on the phone with one woman but she said another woman actually does the hiring etc and she's going to send me details of the pay etc and take it from there.

I'd love to have something set up for my return before I go away but it's still early days yet . A lot are just wrapping up the 2024 season. There's been a few fulltime all year round ones I could have had but doesn't suit me .

Uncle lenny just been on the phone , he's coming back tonight now as been a family issue . So I better shift me van over a bit so he can get in 😁

Oh and his van is pulling over to the left 😁🤣 I've started a craze

Looks a nice site that. As to the role, one of the worst jobs is the “evening warden”, especially at weekends and the high season.

You do know you’ll get someone calling you at 3am telling you the rain is keeping them awake and what can you do about it…😳🤪

So in a nutshell the Same as I said ... pros and cons to both.

I won't be suddenly driving an 8.4 metre 6 tonne motorhome like nigel Mansel. But when I'm sat on motorway cruise control on at 60mph and I reach an incline hopefully I won't have to come off cruise and drop gears to stay at 60mph . And on those steep windy mountain climbs I won't have to drop right down to first gear.

That's all I want from a remap or tuning box. I won't be peeling the tyres from the lights etc.

I'll say I understand sir what plot are you on I'll be right over with my rubber mallet

Hi Tam me again, I know your trying to get sorted for work before you leave but don't just take the first one. We did and now we're bloody working the winter in Northumberland :cold:. We work for minimum wage but pitch + Ehu and washer and dryer included, they are a great couple and it's a lovely site. We also misunderstood when they said 30hours then 20 mid winter (y) but it wasn't until we started we realised it was between us  but as it turns out hubby is doing lots of maintenance work for them so they are paying the extra hours and that suits both parties. Just make sure its the right one for you and the pooches, good luck 💪🤞

Yer, he shouldn't have shown us the name of the site, should be?

He doesn't know my face so I bags first go.
(I've been growled at by the best!)
😄

I'm waiting on more info from a few sites lol. I've not said I'm taking that one, I havent even been offered it.

I've applied to a few , Northumberland, Cumbria, Dorset, Devon, Scotland, Cornwall, Sussex and even one on the hebrides, I'll wait to see what ones if any I get to the interview stage with etc. None will be starting before April anyway so I've time to decide which one is best option for me.

There's one that's adults only in Cumbria I was most keen on as it's all ground and maintenance work and 5 days a week they've said they'll get back in touch mid December when they're doing interviews .

Yes a lot of the couple ones the hours stated are split between 2 people. A few I've enquired to I've stated I'm willing to do both roles but I'd want to do around 30 hours max really as otherwise the dogs would be alone too long each day but it depends on the site. One where they're happy for me to go check on the dogs etc would be fine working a bit more but not doing winter work lol. I'm only looking for April till end of October
