The resurrection of Doc, bringing a 20 year old neismann Bischoff Flair back to life after 12 years off road.

We used to get our 12v fans out the back of old computers, there little wonder the economies in trouble with all these kids buying this Chinese stuff.
More money than sense as my poor old Gran used to say! 😄
I thought a lot of PC fans were 5v?

Why is it if I say something I'm rubbing it in but if others do it's good advice.
I told him a fortnight ago to leave it alone , now he is in the same position he would have been if he had took my advice but saved himself a lot of stress and running about.
It's not that you've said something per se but that you keep saying it ... we know, we all 'heard' it the first, second or probably 10th time :giggle: so there's no need to repeat it again ... why 'kick' him when he's down?

Everyone can be wise after the fact - if it had worked would you instead be eating humble pie and congratulating him on persevering and getting it done?

How many times have I said it then as far as I know just the once and I even said it to him in the flesh when he was here.
What would your advice be then , keep asking other folks to do it who have said they can't.

I'm considering a chip instead .
Sounds like something I said awhile ago , as I said I’ve been using them for years
Never had or heard of problems BUT I have heard of many problems with remapping

Get it ordered & save your self money & headache

I'm just unsure of them .

There's one on ebay apparently for my van that plugs in to the diesel commonrail £59

But I've heard a few reports that they can cause issues with overheating etc.

Tam bite my head off if you want, but why don't you just leave it alone now you are so close to going, you never know one of these garages in morroco might just have what you need.

Oh sorry minxy , bloody hell I have just said it again.
Sorry.

Tam ive done two motorhomes and two cars wuth the boxes, never had an issue.
Last mh was a 2.2 peugeot/fird puma, sluggish from roundabouts ir on hills, after the box fitted i was turning it down from the usual 5 setting. Lots more torque.
Havent had this 3.0 fiat done long enough to say the benefits but from what i have seen it will pull in a higher gear than it did and doesnt sound laboured or have any juddering etc.

Seems to me it's a long way to Newquay and based on your experience so far they may well think they can do the re-map and then find they can't. If it were me I'd think "it is what it is" and get on the road, keeping it in the back of my mind in case an opportunity to have another go surfaces.

Uncle Lenny HB may have some good ideas when you see him, he very occasionally does. Though he is less competent on German wine :ROFLMAO: .

Just drove up to Findon to use one of the revolution laundries . The steering wheel is now better but I dunno I feel this van does still want to go round in left hand circles. Not really been on any good roads though so it's hard to tell.

Is the wheel base wider?
Does it sit in the grooves in some roads or more like one wheel in one out
You might now need to increase that torsion bar by a couple of turns

I dunno... to be honest it could mostly be our shitty roads .

All I can do now is see how it is when in Europe.

My current one is in a Renault master , I bought the van new , chip has been in since year 2 , has now been in 10 years , I’ve never heard of overheating problems , at £60 buy it , use it , if you aren’t happy for any reason unplug it , you’ve spent more than that chasing a remap

Edit I sold the one off my last MoHo to Bustup15

Tam, I had a chip express one in the van for 7yrs installed it after 1k from new finally replaced it after 60k for a remap and to be honest didn’t really notice a great deal of difference between the two. Oh by the way never had any issues with it or coresponding engine issues. I also had one on my old van which was the old 3ltr engine

Knowing absolutely nothing about these things, just what do they do that these professional guys couldn't.
Why couldn't they have come up with these?
