Rally The Last Peterborough Show April 2023

Thanks to all of the marshalls for organising and pitching us in very trying conditions. It was great to catch up after the winter break but not exactly deck chair weather for socialising. The entertainment was good and the Pimm's afternoon really enjoyable. Spent the last day or two wondering if we'd get off without a tractor tow and when ready to go engine wouldn't start. Thanks to Tony Gray coming up with the idea of jump starting off my leisure batteries and his extra long jump leads we got away without a tractor tow. Thanks Tony cally 👍

I would like to thank the funsters who helped the disable lady who was lost on our site last night all she knew she was by the clock but didnt know what club or make of van (think she came with family).
This was a good example. Why you cannot move from one area to another as Warners have a list of everyone surnames and what area they are parked.
So don t blame the marshals when you are not on their list and they say sorrow you can not stay.
I hope she has been United with her family.
If I find anything out l will keep you updated.
A big thank you for the security who picked her up and took her to the Bedford suite while they contacted Warners.
Once again thank you all very much.
Polly
Great to here she was united with her son. She was lucky we saw her behind a van stuck in the mud she was very disorientated as was I but mine was to much beer but at least we got her to safety. Could have been a must worse out come.

Thanks to all who made another memorable weekend; the organisers, marshals, tea-tent providers, coastguards and tug-boat captains.
And I think I can safely say (without contradiction?).…
Never Again!

If anyone else has starter problems I have one of those cordless jump-start gadgets you can borrow. (Only just read about your problems Pauline).

How long did you wait after we went Bryn? I felt guilty when the tractor came to us first

had a brill weekend up until we came back from peterbourgh on saturday afternoon and found a tag axle van parked only 2 meters from our door between us and dux delux. a big thanks to all the marshalls especially lee who helped us to fix and provide fittings for our tv aerial, next show for us will be norfolk. see you there, all the best terry and sue.

All those feeling victimised they had to be towed should know that your marshalls have also participated in the experience.
Pics please  looks like the training session at Quakers was a little underestimated 🤽‍♂️

We left about 1:30. We managed to crawl off without a tow but with lots of mud clinging to ramps.

We got out OK thanks to Lee Lee Fryer for parking us on a reasonably dry spot, the Concorde next to us had other ideas and really wanted to stay a bit longer  But with the aid of hydraulic jacks and some sand ladders we persuaded it to head for home.

I actually had and used 2 pairs of these sand ladders so I need the jet wash out in the morning to clean them up, the field will have to sort itself out;)

A couple of the boys needed their hooves cleaning as well, this is our friend James and I think it's Andy Andy from Sandy (correct me if I am wrong though)

Thanks to the marshals for their hard work and everybody for their good company.

Totally unimpressed by whoever it was….. the grey waste dumping was the low point

May not have been a Funster. Talking to someone in the Autotrail area, they had several people move vans onto their roadway last evening, one of whom got very aggressive when challenged this morning that they had blocked the safety path.

Thanks to all the marshalls work. So glad we have twin wheel rear drive and thankfully just drove ourselves out!
Had to reverse past a tractor after reaching tarmac and just as we got level with his tool laden rear end..... HOOOOOOONNNNKK !!!!

Blooming government emergency test signal! I was convinced I had hit him. 😀

Forgive this ignorant newbie but were the funster badges only for those staying on site? Saw the tea tent but was too shy to ask at the time.

If you are a funster you should visit the tea tent to say hello. Badges, stickers, etc are for any member and normally (currently) free as part of your membership.

The tea tent was also available to prospective newbies and acted as an information point.

BTW a number of funsters ordered Badges and didn't collect them :( I suspect if that continues Jim may have some thoughts on the wastage costs.

I was appalled at the number that people did not bother to collect

Thanks for that. I'll pop in next time!

I’d like to echo the others’ thanks to the marshalls for their sterling efforts throughout the weekend and to those working so hard in the tea tent. Thankfully the dreaded weather that was forecast didn’t materialise to the extent forecasted and didn’t unduly affect our enjoyment of the event.

We managed to drive off the planks (at 10am) that I’d placed under our wheels, to spread the load, and was able to maintain momentum for the short distance to road so all good.👍

Ian

Thanks for your efforts Kannon Fodda in trying to remove road block. As said we managed to escape unaided in the end.
Thanks to all the marshals for you efforts over the weekend.
followed your tyre tracks and made it to dry land then helped a funster with a flat battery

Some weirdo has been shining a powerful torch through my cab window………no idea who it might be but I have my suspicions

Many thanks to all the Marshalls and to Jim and Sian for a fun weekend. If I ordered badges and did not collect them then I apologise. We found both of ours from previous events. I hope Jim just keeps them in a box for another time.

Very pleased with my heavy duty plastic duck boards as we did not need a tow but we were close to the track in the middle of the field which we reversed around to get out.

It appears on an earlier post that I had badges at the tea tent, I never knowingly ordered any or mistakingly ordered any, however these cost money and I don’t expect anyone to cover my costs if I mess up so I will be happy to donate some teabags and/or sugar to the tea tent at the next rally we attend, (probably lincoln now) and apologise profusely for any confusion Sorry Jim

The girl singer tonight has been excellent.😀

First time we have been in the entertainment this weekend. Lighting rig vastly improved over the same old rig they have run for years.

Thank you to all the marshals and to Jim and Saun :)

Must admit I did not really 'feel' the show at all.
Food and indeed a lot of kit was vastly over priced and apart from our lot at the FUN stand it just felt 'flat'
Perhaps it was the weather, perhaps other things but I am not sorry it was the last one there

To be honest it was only nostalgia in that it was the last one that made us attend

Warners seem to go out of their way to treat Funsters badly

On the plus side, the new lithium set up all worked superbly . I shall be doing a bit of a write up on the whole job with links to the various parts used
