Rally Chat That Dammed Illusive New Forest Meet

Got amps and mic .if you are still looking .Roy
Well done Roy - does this mean I don't have to test mine Sandra @Armytwowheels ? I only ask because having just looked at the amps, without our Little 'un I wouldnt know which plug went into which hole.....

I may take my life in my hands and test out the smaller one - if it works, and if I can get a tune out of it (the uke not the amp - even I am a little bit 'amp' literate), I will bring it as a back up!

Yes, yes, yes. Aren't Funsters just great. Oh this plan is so coming together, thanks Khizzie, @Popeye will kiss your feet at the meet! :*:*:*
Oooer I didn't think that sort of thing went on at these meets and rallies!!!:rofl:

No they are not all the same that's just a dirty rumour put about by dinghy sailors.

Thanks Roy, always knew you'd be a useful old git.

Ere less of the useful you foot kisser , just remember your place in society. .

Has a anyone got a sound system, as in a mic and amp, that we could borrow for this meet please?
Yes, but it looks like you are sorted with @Khizzie 's offer. It's always a tight fit when I have to fit the amp & the wheelchair in (as at the Falkirk Wheel), so I won't plan to bring them unless there is a last minute change of plan.

Thanks, will keep that offer in mind, but we should be OK with Khizze's kind offering.

Just to let you know folks to keep a look out for Joy @movan. It makes no difference whether or not she has the postcode she is always getting lost and is for ever blaming poor Tom. Tom. If she hasn't turned up by bedtime please send a search party out!! Lol

You will probably find her in a lay-by just don't mention 'badgering'!!

I think we ought to fit a tracker in her van so we can all follow her progress on Google maps. It could be quite entertaining!

Sorry it's taken a while to get back to you. I am not sure what is being organised by @Popeye, but I am sure it's going to be good and he will tell us in good time to get our vans loaded and wardrobes ready!

Hi Amytwo wheels I am looking forward to my first meet I am called stumpy for obvious reasons as I have a proper pirates leg. I have just spoken to Hornsy and I would like electric hook up as I have some medication that must stay at a certain tempriture so want it just in case they said to make the booking team for our groupe aware as well thanks a lot

Serious question now: I would normally drain out my water now. But if cold weather would put a peg to stop it automatically dumping. . Because it is so late in the year would it be too risky to 'peg' the dump valve ? Also ... when I heat the van heater only on gas, does it matter that there is no water in the tank.. is it needed for a coolant or anything?

Or shall I just bring extra blankets?

If you are using your van Joy, there is no need to drain down. I seriously doubt it is going to get cold enough between now and the meet to cause any problems. If the heater dumps it's load between now and the meet, just reset and refill.

If you are in the van, using heating etc, it will/should not dump.

@movan - Joy mine allows the heating on even if no water in the hot tank. I would expect yours to be the same. Do you know what type of boiler you have ?

All.requests for EHU will be sent off to the site shortly, I will amend the list to show the latest requests later today.

Hi Sandra - I think EHU will be weather dependent for us - hopefully we will be able to leave the decision until we get there?

No need to drain down yet Joy
Maybe in January when it's below freezing - but in autumn you're fine.
You may want to put the heating on first thing in the morning, but that's about it.
Leave draining down until the winter

On arrival you will get a newsletter with all the timings etc and any useful information I can glean from the campsite.

Nearer the time I will be asking you for approximate arrival times, so your novice Marshals can be there to greet you. I will also let you know if you have to check-in with the campsite first, or if we are allocating your pitches. All will become clear in the fullness of time, I am sure it will:pray2::pray2:

Welcome Friday -an evening for meeting old and new friends, while enjoying wine and cheese nibbles, no need to bring anything (other than your best smiley face and a chair) unless you don't like cheese and wine!
