Tam &Toby do Europe ...Take two

We did that area about 2011, we’d just sold up and were exploring!
Fantastic roads & scenery, some good walking there too!
We always wonder why they seem to build right on the top of almost inaccessible rocks, but maybe originally it was for defence from us Brits!
1300’s we killed an awful lot of French!

Completely lost internet yesterday as I was in the wilds by a fake lake or Lac artificial as the French called it....it was weird cause it looked like water , it felt like water but it's apparently a fake ...who'd a guessed :D. Lac de chudanne.

We assume you meant 'doddle', but it is time you dawdled a bit.

I could not believe you arrived at St. Croix at 0930 yesterday and did 2 more villages the same day. I expected to see you walking the dogs along the lakeshore 'beach' at St. Croix and staying for a day or two.

Geoff
Should be titles "Tam's whistlestop tour", poor bloke has only given himself a year to do it. :)

As long is he is parking next to lone motorhomes in car parks leaving hab door width +1mm gap!!
Far too much space to qualify as a Frenchy, saw one Frenchman asked another Motorhome to put his step in so he could get in next to him and the bloke did, of course there was loads of room elsewhere.

Well I'm now in an area called "Le mas" stopped at a little village as I can't go no further as there's only one road and it's got a bridge at 2.8 metre high and too narrow to drive through...2 very frantic French women ran towards me waving arms lol .

So I'm in the church carpark which the road getting to is ridiculously narrow ....I'm going to video my exit but for now we are going for a walk around the village.

Not wise to follow my examples Tam.:D2

In these small villages That’s how the desperate single local girls find boyfriends/ husbands lol , they’ve got to take any opportunity that lands on their doorstep ‍♀️

I could literally throttle them ...the town is dead apart from these 2 old wimmen planting flowers on the entrance to the town. They stopped me and made signs about being too high and wide etc and directed me up this really narrow road to the church. I walked through the village and there's no narrow or low bits in fact the road the sent me to the church is a lot worse ...but now to get back on the road I have a problem as it's a 45° turn and also on a steep incline or I need to drive back up the road I came to find somewhere to turn. Bloody idiots
I'm gonna video it lol meanwhile here's the pics of the town which is nice but every one is dead

They might have traveled in Africa , its common practice there for locals to give you directions which line to take thru muddy sections , but they do the opposite , so they can earn helping you get out when you end up in the deepest hole .

We obviously all had very similar thoughts about the French women lol ;), though perhaps we should give them the benefit of the doubt maybe after the village the road narrows and has a low bridge.
On the other hand is Tam getting too choosy? so maybe they weren't students. .......:p

A couple or 3 miles further up are the clues d'aiglun.

I am really going from memory from here but i think it gets a bit tight and twisty and teh rocks come out into the road and the river turns into a Clue for a walk around. I think there are some recesses on the left that double up as churches ! Plenty parking space for a perusal about.

enjoyed the video Tam and your adventures.

So.....

After that I decided to film another bit as there looked to be nice scenery coming up ...

And well this happened :p

All that squeaking is my overcab bed which does drive me nuts lol. Bumpy roads are a nightmare.

So other than that here's a few pics from the rest of the day and where I'm parked now for the night.

The first one was the village which looked nice as did the view around it hence setting the second video up. Otherwise wouldn't have captured that. I then headed towards grasse. Was at 1269metres at one point hence the snow.

That was brilliant Tam! Well done for the video, the music, your honesty, your restraint
and the final tune (that could be the sub-title of your upcoming book).(y) :D.

Now I know how to compress the videos and have a way of holding the phone in place I might manage a few better ones of some of the routes ...

Ours drops down slightly after a few bumps. The co-pilot helps me push it up again from time to time.

What happens if you meet another vehicle in that tunnel? Can you see the other end before you go in? Scary man!

We met a 53 seater coming in the opposite direction in that tunnel and a peugeot estate who felt it was wide enough for her to pass my motorhome. Had to reverse for the bus cos he decided it was his right of way. To be fair the wife was over her side and was looking down, the driver doesnt quite get the vertical view of the passenger !

We also met a coach in that tunnel with the same result !

There will be two french femme up in that village saying to each other

WHAT IS IT ABOUT MEN THEY JUST CAN’T DO AS THERE TOLD ‍♀️

Tam who said this lol
