Tam &Toby do Europe ...Take two

Bermejales, outside Alhama de Granada.
The sun is trying to come out but not making a very good job of it and it's still pretty breezy. Huh.
Yesterday I was perfecting my suntan, today it's wooly socks and thermals.(n)5

So you're where I met you last year?
I was gonna pop up that way next week sometime.
It's a warm wind here I'm still only in shorts and vest top and it's mostly sunny just very windy

Yes,I'm here permanently now.
The weather has been good, still chilly at night but usually lovely from mid morning onwards.
If you are this way it would be good to see you and Jade again and meet chubby Milo. :)

Aye I will defo be up there just not sure which day yet ....I'll be going to nerja then up there before going to Malaga. Probably some time next week.

Did you go into Alhama de Granada last year?
It's a really interesting old town with it's roman baths and what I believe is an amazing walk out through the gorge.
It has an Aire just inside the lower edge of the town, (don't get trapped in on Friday mornings by the market).

I don't think I did visit alhama de granada last year ...I spent a couple of days at the lake on my way from Granada then went to motril.

Yeah I zig zag a lot ha ha but it breaks up coast and country.
I want to spend a week around Malaga so I can get some tan before I start to head north again towards France.
Where I parked last year I'm right on the beach so easy to lie out in the sun without being far from doggies.

Think I'll visit alhama though.

Couldn't stop at nerja last year as there was a circus in the parking spot and Frankie was too big so I'll stop there. Then there's a service aire with a motorhome wash point I can give Toby a good wash at :) then I'll head up through the hills to where you are

I'd better hide my van before you get here, it's really neglected, poor thing. At the moment I'm in the process of getting it re-registered on Spanish plates so I don't have to make that trek back to the UK each year.
Tho' I don't use it much, I want to keep it to explore more and so that at least if I have to go back to UK at any point I have the means of transporting myself and the dogs.

Isn't it really expensive to do that ?

That's what I'd been told, but all in I think it will have cost about €1000-€1300 by the time it's completed .
In the long run it would have cost a lot more driving to and fro each year for it's MOT.
Had I been remotely mechanically minded it would have been cheaper. I had to put it into a garage to get the headlights adjusted ( just turning a knob and running a wire between the two sets of rear lights so I had two fog lights instead of just one on the wrong side).
You could have done that with your eyes shut ( probably so could I,but I have no confidence whatsoever around vehicles ), give me something with 4 legs that wears hair any day.lol :D

That's not to bad then I had heard it cost 25% of the vehicle value which is crazy

Yeah, you hear all manner of stuff which is nonsense - having said that my van is now 14 years old , maybe if one was bringing in a new or nearly new one it might be a different story.
However the transition isn't completed yet so I'd better not count my chickens just yet.

Let me know when you're there, i should still be here until I set off back around 18th, washing machine open for business. I note there's a few vans parked up by the supersol very close to me on the N340

I've now parked up at motril ....I did try to go to torrenuevo for a change but somehow the road had disappeared so ended up at the same spot in motril I stayed last year.
No hardship as it's a nice spot ....

As far as Spain is concerned it’s winter! I tried ages to get shorts the other year, and all anyone had was scarves, hats and gloves!!

They have plenty of crocs and blooming flip flops though.

Just not classy sandals....

Hot feet are the cross you have to bear for being in warm climates and shorts while us back home have rain and cold.

Quite clearly I am very envious. :D

I’m so pleased for you that the pooches have so quickly bonded.

That looks like the spot with the "No Autocaravan sign" been there stayed there, nice spot.:D2
Can't say I've seen it lol . But policia local has been in every hour or so and Guardia civil twice. Never even gave me a second glance.
All the beach bars etc are closed. Maybe 4 or 5 vans here spread around the park
