Look on the bright side Tam, Cloudy & Wet means not much solar, you stuck in van watching tele, charging up all your phones & laptops etc. lights on all day, means that you can discharge your leisure batts down to 55/60%, Then you can see how much, and how longer you can get 20amps from the alternator before it drops down to 5/6 amps(y)
There you go every cloud has a silver lining.:giggle:
LES

I think that is something on the fridge control circuit nothing to do with getting power from the alternator.
Have you got a photo?

This is the relay screwed to back of the fridge....it used to make a high pitched buzzing noise when i started the engine up so I replaced it ....but then I recently refitted the old one to see if by any chance me swapping it had caused any issues

Made no difference

I had assumed that was the relay for powering the fridge

In other news my clamp meter has arrived

Is this the setting I need to check current ?

The relay & cables look big enough to power the fridge. I wonder if a previous owner fitted it because of problems with the one in the EBL.

Yes settings look right on meter.

No idea ...although the wires from ebl for fridge are still there too so I don't know

I did have a thought the other night and wondered if maybe the relay for battery charging in the ebl had also been changed and maybe causing an issue

Anyway ill run the batteries low again tonight so i can check the amps on all cables tomorrow and see what that throws up

Pretty sure my fridge has a 12 volt "automotive" relay on the back of it, I thought it was there to run the 12 volt heater element when you're driving, activated by the fridge's circuit board to handle the higher current ?

More conflicting information from vet this morning

I'm at albavet having the dogs rabies vaccinations done

This vet is adamant that after January next year the dogs will need a blood test done to return to the UK

I told him that I had been told different and that it was to enter europe after January but he says its not

How long is the blood test valid for? Sounds like you need to get one (two) done to cover any eventuality.

Found the answer on a .gov.uk site.

The blood test will continue to be valid as long as your pet’s rabies vaccinations are kept up to date.
