Tam I’m so sorry this has happened to you.Ok so I've had a call back from the surgery ....initially the nurse was worried as I said I couldn't support my own weight while trying to sit or stand and was talking about sending me to hospital for x Ray's etc ...but after me telling her that while lying down I can raise my knees to my chin etc and have normal movement in arms and legs they've decided just to give me a 5 day course of diazepam which I can take with the paracetamol and ibuprofen and see how that goes but to phone back if it gets worse.
I've had a couple of paracetamol etc this morning and managed to crawl over to the sofa and trying to sit up for a bit to have a coffee ....spasms shooting all ways at the base of my spine at the minute but I dont think just lying down all day will help me much.
Not sure how i did it as I'm fairly active everyday between doing jobs on the van and working at nights ....i must have just moved funny while getting up from under van or something
Never had back trouble before and I'm hoping it's not the start of longterm bother either .
Bloody hate being incapacitated
The spasms arent fun though as everytime one hits i jerk myself
Sisters taken dogs out for me at least...poor milo is a nervous wreck with me shouting out in pain when i move
I have to say the painkillers have done wonders today as I can stand and walk about at least so I've been trying to keep moving as much as possible..Tam I’m so sorry this has happened to you.
I did my back 3 weeks ago stepping down from a garden chair ( after chatting to the neighbours over the fence. )
Lieing down is the only pain relief but the dr has given me diazepam , codeine and paracetamol.i had to have a campode and a frame as I just couldn’t move!
Well the physio came and has givin me excersise and said move at least ever 2 hour
Please get your dr to help and use a frame of you need it ( although I felt Like an 85 year old!!)
Take care and get good pain killers and stronger if others don’t work !
Big big hugs!
Ouch ...I'm hoping it's not anything like that and just a pulled muscle or something...but yeah its bloody excruciating without the drugs....I was moving about great yesterday while taking plenty painkillers ...but think I'm gonna have a few mornings like thisMy niece couldn't get her husband into the car so phoned for an ambulance. Spoke to a paramedic over the phone who said "It wasn't a good use of an ambulance" and he would contact their doctor. Receptionist phoned them a couple of hours later to say they had made an appointment for him later that afternoon. Niece explained that he couldn't get in the car, "Oh, then you should phone for an ambulance" was the reply !
Long story short, doc made a home visit and diagnosed a prolapsed disc, got him on diazepam as well as the oramorph, but he's still in major pain when he's not sleeping.
Good that you're back getting about though Tam, but don't overdo things.

Another night off work though ....that's about £250 I've lost so far this week .....this getting old is nae fun.
I am gonna fit my new locks today though as that's not too strenuous ...just drilling a couple if holes and putting screws in
