Yeah I saw a couple of reviews on park4night from November saying van broken in to which isn't great , I had no probs here last year but I'll be vigilant.
I'll be sure to check out the fish n chips too

i feel the same about churches but im always got at the back of my mind that religion is the longest running confidence trick and the churches were built grand to inspire awe in the very people who were paying for them

I personally believe religion is all about control ....control the people to do as you wish, set rules you don't necessarily follow yourself by installing the fear of eternal damnation.
But I also think many people need something to believe in.
 
Had a nice walk along the promenade , braw and sunny now and quite warm. I love the parrots here I remember them from last year

Did it though? I mean I know Christianity isn't all religion but the Romans were pretty civilised before old jc showed up lol
 
I don't care what anyone else believes in, as long as they don't try to convert me (SWMBO and myself are Jedi, as that is what I put on the last two census forms).

They certainly were and used their own pre-Christian beliefs to aid the control. That and a load of torture.

I am a great admirer of the pre-Christian Romans, their engineering is still running today in places, plenty of aqueducts in Spain which supplied Rome with millions of litres of olive oil every year. Their concrete still supports the roof in the Pantheon, though this was AD a bit.

If you've not been near Avila you may not have seen the hundreds of square miles of olive groves, quite a sight.

Not such a nice day here today it started off cloudy and I got soaked when out with jade.
Sun is making the occasional appearance now though so not too bad. We are having a lazy day. Lying in bed reading at minute
Well I am ,jade is trying to see just how much of the bed she can spread herself over

I may attempt to find a barber this afternoon as I could do with a trim.


Must be a coachload of Chinese tourists here today as we passed many of them with pac a macs and cameras while out our walk .

Lots of them smiling and pointing at jade which always makes me nervous ....I'm never sure whether they think she's cute or if they are picturing her on a plate with some rice and green peppers...perhaps in a black bean sauce.
 
Stop it Tam! Poor Jade it doesn't bare thinking about! ( I never know which bare/ bear that should be).
I was also thinking about your slashed bike cover and that it was a good job you hadn't heard and accosted him, with himm having a knife that doesn't bare thinking about either. :(

A few questions, if I may, about where you are parked.

How quiet is it at night?
Is it OK at weekends (seen some reports that the parking meters are working at weekends)?
Do you feel safe there?
Can you take dogs on the beach?
When are you leaving?

Asking for a friend ;)

Jeeso so many questions :p

I'd say it's pretty quiet at night...You get the odd car going past but didn't disturb me ...no teenagers in noisy cars ...You just hear the waves crashing mostly.

Where I'm parked which is where the coordinates on park4night will bring you too the meters are locked till March or April.

I feel perfectly safe , there's been reports of breakins but from what I've read it's rare.
I have alarm set when not in van and nothing valuable left in sight etc.

Signs saying no dogs on beach but I've seen several locals with dogs on beach and the promenade daytime is very popular with dog walkers.

I'll be here till Monday morning probably unless I get itchy feet on Sunday.

fighting to the death and throwing people to the lions for entertainment isnt my idea of civilised still we have ant and dec who make me wish for a sudden death

I think they should bring back feeding to the lions personally, I bet it woukd be more effective than prison
 
Certainly gets busy at weekends , just been out with jade for a pee and 5 or 6 motorhomes There now 2 of which just turning up..at like 11.15pm
