Tam &Toby do Europe ...Take two

So what are you waiting for, track down the owners, get renovating.
Easier said than done lol ....I'm also thinking there might be a reason they've been abandoned ...and stripped ..basically only the brick/concrete works been left

Looks good and the dogs have a swimming/paddling pool again (y)(y)
Yeah we've just been down for a second swim....I wish jade would go In more though as she's black she needs to cool down more.

I struggle to get her to drink aswell.

Milo drinks like a fish and swims like one too ...Can't keep him out the water

Probably built illegally......

I do think it may be reclaimed land there's a few signs about but can't make sense of them.

Nice spot though ...I do like Andalucia I think it's my favourite region even if it is the hottest

Try her (well both of them) with what I call 'licky plates'. Bits of cheese, ham, chicken or whatever they like put into the bottom of a small plastic bowl, covered in small amount of water and frozen. Then turn it out upside down onto the ground. They will lick through the ice, which keeps them rehydrated, and eventually get to the treat which keeps them occupied.

Spain has been cracking down on buildings built on or close to beaches - not allowed

boy dogs drink 4 times what the girls do
Is that a fact or is it just something yours do ?

I've always thought jade doesn't drink much but it doesn't seem to bother her to much and I don't think she's dehydrated going by what I've seen on the internet..but ive not seen anything that's said male dogs drink more ...it does say puppies tend to drink more and I guess he is only 10 months ..

She seems healthy but he definately drinks a lot more than she does

Rhonda looked great Tam,but although you waited til late evening it still looked pretty warm! Lovely photo's though, thanks.
If you've developed a taste for Tinto Verano (which I must agree with), I hope you are going for the sin alcohol variety if you're driving (wouldn't want you failing a breathalyser).
In my opinion as long as Jade has plenty of opportunities to splash around in the shallows she'll be fine (heatwise), the @dudess idea of doggy ice lollies is absolutely brilliant and if you are not near a lake or stream get them to stand in a washing up bowl of cold water.

mitzimad boy dogs are much the same as men then eh? tho' with the men it tends not to be water lol.

Our terrier, Poppy, definitely drinks more than Harry, but she wees more as well, nips out, bobs down, job done... Harry wanders round the grass looking for the best blade of grass, his wandering gets faster and faster and when he goes its like he's filling a bucket!

Yeah ronda is a nice wee town I liked it last year too ...to be honest it's not dropped below 21/22 even overnight in the last 2 weeks so it was still warm when we went round but not the 30+ direct sun it was earlier.

Not keen on the no alcohol lol so it's the 4.5% alcohol one I get But I only drink a few pints of am evening and I'm not then driving till around 10.30 / 11 ish next day so should be fine I'd imagine as I'm no wee.

I think jade is definately getting enough to cool down but I'd still like her to go in and swim more as she can do it and will sometimes but more often than not she lets Milo do the hard work then nearly drowns him wrestling the stick of him lol.

The ice lolly idea is a good one although I've not much room in the freezer lol its full of my own ice lollies and ice cubes ha ha

That's the thing with mine Milo will do the toilet anywhere in fact he often doesn't even stop when pooing lol

But jade ...she paces back and forth like a numpty finding the perfect spot then has this big palava to get positioned etc.

And when pooing she likes an audience so despite my efforts to try and get her to poo on grass etc she waits till we are passing a restaurant or crossing the bloody road and then does it ...and when she's anchored down those legs there's no moving her either

But she doesn't drink as much as I think she should

I have a Samsung S3 but it doesnt take photos as good as yours Tam,,or is it me and not the phone??BUSBY.

Bye the way guys I've another query and looking for advice from those who have been.
So I'm back in the area again where I could get the ferry over to morroco for a couple of weeks or a month. I never went last year and I kind of felt I maybe missed something so I'm considering going.

Is it worth it ?
What's there to see and do?
Do folk speak English easy enough?
What sort of price is the ferry for a 7 metre van , me and 2 dogs

Any probs with dogs ?

If it's gonna be overly expensive for 2 to 4 weeks I won't bother but if worthwhile I'd quite like to see it before I go in to Portugal

You will need a green card from your insurance Tam and a lot of insurers don’t do them...
If they do they can be expensive for Morocco and the ferry is a few hundred £’s..
We’re hoping to go over for one winter....

TerryL and PhilandMena have been many times and know a lot more ....

Ferry is just over €200 in the winter, probably too hot until the autumn.
If you are still with Safeguard I don't think they will give cover anymore.

I already have the green card which is valid till end of August that's why if I'm gonna go it has to be this month.

Northern Morocco has temperatures similar to the Mediterranean but to see the real Morocco you need to travel much further south - and as said above, it get's b----y hot! In all honesty in two weeks you won't have time to see much - I think everyone who knows will say less than 4 weeks is a waste of time and money.

If you're serious, download my article from Resources and check out the "Morocco 2016" thread (best one for info and photos).

Bummer Tam, sounds like you'll just have to have another trip down the way one winter, what a nightmare ??

Well I was thinking 2 -4 weeks really .
It's more the dogs I'm unsure of

Tam lots of nice photos, can’t make up my mind about the blue village as I like the houses painted white.

Thanks for going to the trouble of showing the photos to us, we do appreciate them.

Yeah I wasn't too keen on the blue myself to be honest... but it was a little run down so that didn't help it any

I like the quirky little hilltop towns with the narrow lanes and passages etc

just going by my experience of dogs weve owned or looked after,my sons dog clears our large water bowl every day when he stays with us and with our bitch it can last 3 or 4 days i think its the constant marking his territory

Yes, They would both need the titre test to ensure there rabies anti bodies were above the 5 mark. Takes 3 weeks to get result + 128€/dog at my vets. Had alfie done a few weeks ago in case of no dealas would need it to exit UK & re enter eu .

Do I need that to enter Morocco and return to Spain though?
