Tam &Toby do Europe ...Take two

In the Uk all the mway marker posts are in kms & tenth markers yet everything else is in miles ?
Isn’t it nonsense ... I teach school kids messire in mm/cm/m/km yet we measure height, road distance etc in imperial ...

Its not beyond attainment to be able to do both surely , I did it at school :)

Good point - though I guess they’re not really for general guidance use, more for breakdown and emergency response.

God, can you imagine the uproar if they tried to move from miles to km for speed limits and distances in the UK!

I confess that despite being born just as decimalisation was taking place, I think in a mixture of imperial and metric but prefer imperial - easier to envisage.

The best way would be to just do it. 50mph signs get changed to 80kph. Mway 70 becomes 110 . People will soon realise when the fines come through & that will pay for the changeover + a profit(y)

but I thought he was back in Spain again now?
It must be my age, I am getting bewildered! :)

So I stayed at colonia guell last night on the free aire , there was a british plated sprinter van there with this hippy couple in ...she was half Nigerian/Scottish and he was Austrian but had lived in the UK 10 years...nice couple

So I topped up with water etc this morning and then I drove to sitges this morning where I had lunch and a walk along esplanade, popped in to decathlon for an extension for my bike handlebars as I'm starting to feel like quasi modo ...also got another pair of sandals and 2 vest tops.

Left there and drove to porta roma, nice beach here real sand again not that gravelly crap, had a walk along beach and now back to Toby for an I've lolly:)
Sky is black it looks like there's a storm coming but might blow over.

Brilliant :sun:from Castellón down! Some bad weather coming in across Portugal & Galicia and will hit most of inland Spain...except for South of Tarragona and down to the very South of Spain where temperatures will remain good! Inland not good, Cataluña not good!
(They deserve all the bad weather they get!:swear:) So stay on the coast, Tam, and get away from Cataluña as quickly as you are able as the temperatures are going to drop 10ºC very soon which won't do your tan any good!

Surprising too as it's been really warm up here up till now. Even now it's pleasant it's just got a bit cloudy here today.

Most pipe threads in use on the Continent are Imperial BSP. UK sheet material isn't 8 x 4 it is 2400 x 1200 (= 94.5" x 47.2"). Don't ask me how I found that out :mad::).

T thought they standardised it at 2500 x 1250 ?

Where's @chaser when you need him.

It's been peeing down all morning, got soaked with dogs , got soaked coming out of mercadona....I'm now parked in salou as I've never been so thought I'd take a nosey.

I'm parked in the shitty part of town , rain has stopped at the minute but still dull so I've not ventured out yet
