Tam &Toby do Europe ...Take two

Better one there now, poor little dab can barely toddle yet, but with any luck I'll bore you rigid over the next couple of weeks :D

@monzer just noticed the "multi dogs ", not going to push my luck yet.
My little old Beardie is 15, deaf, almost blind and has dementia .The new puppy barely has her paws on life's staircase yet, so I'll leave my user name as is for a while. :)

Tam, I used to think that Milo looked like a wrinkled little old man but how's this for a wrinkly little old lady?

Planning ahead ?

If they could manage to make bread that lasts for more than 24 hours I wouldn't have to buy it fresh daily lol

Ah well I did like marie Antoinette and had cake instead.

At least I got my laundry done.

Ah but, it would then need to be full of all sorts of muck and preservatives.
Might as well buy white sliced Mother's Pride, other brands are available. Tho ' most are only suitable for rolling into a ball and placing on a bent pin :ROFLMAO:

I very rarely buy white bread unless it's a baguette I prefer brown or seeded bread.
In spain I can buy a loaf of brown with no milk that lasts a few days ...I don't eat enough bread really to justify buying it every day but I like a sandwich for lunch

Although the cake was good I might just start eating cake

Think of your figure Tam!
Drawing the birds might prove more difficult with a large gut that may well follow too much cake eating, not to mention the health hazards that go with it and the inability to exercise the dogs sufficiently.
All in all not a good move. ......then there could be type two diabetes - the possibilities are endless all down to a bit of cake!

Or you could make your own soda bread, dead easy, only takes an hour, fresh daily is best but is perfectly edible for three or four days.

At least the only close for 2 - 2½ hours where as in Spain the shops close for 4 hours & Resturants don't start serving until 9:30 pm.

before i post this , i know you know this but if for some reason you dont , bread is about the best thing there is to freeze, chuck a couple of sliced loaves in the freezer then you can take a couple of slices out when you have run out of fresh(y) and seal the bag up again for next time.

Not fussed about restaurant's I never eat out in the evening anyway ...but most supermarkets in Spain don't close at lunchtime ...probably loose loads of potential trade

My damm Microswitch has packed in again on my kitchen tap so I need to sort that again and I've broke the catch on my sliding window by the drivers seat ....I'm convinced this van hates me.

These days it's only in rural areas the supermarkets close for lunch in France.

If you don’t already have, may be worth getting a piece of aluminium angle, reasonable price from garden centres with La Mason and making a stop bar for the sliding window.

Anything will do that you can pop in the gap. Pop in a chinese or a ferreteria, when back here & you can get a jewellers cabinet type lock with keys.

How to refresh old French bread?
Put it in a bowl of water till it’s a little bit soggy........just a few minutes should do the trick, then drain off the excess water and put into a hot oven for a few minutes..............comes out like newly baked loaf.... deeeelicious!

Just splash some water on it and rub all over. 5 mins. in oven till it taps with a hollow sound.
