Planning ahead ?Oh dear Tam, part of travelling is embracing the local culture. ....and planning ahead
I very rarely buy white bread unless it's a baguette I prefer brown or seeded bread.Ah but, it would then need to be full of all sorts of muck and preservatives.
Might as well buy white sliced Mother's Pride, other brands are available. Tho ' most are only suitable for rolling into a ball and placing on a bent pin
At least the only close for 2 - 2½ hours where as in Spain the shops close for 4 hours & Resturants don't start serving until 9:30 pm.This is a stoopid bloody country
Where else do supermarkets completely close for lunch
I want to buy lunch the stoopid eedjits
before i post this , i know you know this but if for some reason you dont , bread is about the best thing there is to freeze, chuck a couple of sliced loaves in the freezer then you can take a couple of slices out when you have run out of fresh and seal the bag up again for next time.I very rarely buy white bread unless it's a baguette I prefer brown or seeded bread.
In spain I can buy a loaf of brown with no milk that lasts a few days ...I don't eat enough bread really to justify buying it every day but I like a sandwich for lunch
Although the cake was good I might just start eating cake
Not fussed about restaurant's I never eat out in the evening anyway ...but most supermarkets in Spain don't close at lunchtime ...probably loose loads of potential tradeAt least the only close for 2 - 2½ hours where as in Spain the shops close for 4 hours & Resturants don't start serving until 9:30 pm.
These days it's only in rural areas the supermarkets close for lunch in France. Not fussed about restaurant's I never eat out in the evening anyway ...but most supermarkets in Spain don't close at lunchtime ...probably loose loads of potential trade

I've broke the catch on my sliding window by the drivers seat
Yes I remember you showing me that before. If you don’t already have, may be worth getting a piece of aluminium angle, reasonable price from garden centres with La Mason and making a stop bar for the sliding window.

Not had that since 2014 thoughShould have kept the Moby Tam
A class with proper cab doors and windows
Use a strip of timber, I'm sure a man of your cabability can get your saw out & find a tree.Yes I remember you showing me that before.
I need one now as nothing stopping the window from being opened
Anything will do that you can pop in the gap. Pop in a chinese or a ferreteria, when back here & you can get a jewellers cabinet type lock with keys.Yes I remember you showing me that before.

Was very disappointed first time I went in a ferreteria. No ferrets to be seen anywhere.a chinese or a ferreteria
How to refresh old French bread?Planning ahead ?
If they could manage to make bread that lasts for more than 24 hours I wouldn't have to buy it fresh daily lol
Ah well I did like marie Antoinette and had cake instead.
At least I got my laundry done.
Aye only it never does only take a few minutes ....25 minutes plus last time I tried itHow to refresh old French bread?
Put it in a bowl of water till it’s a little bit soggy........just a few minutes should do the trick, then drain off the excess water and put into a hot oven for a few minutes..............comes out like newly baked loaf.... deeeelicious!
