Tam &Toby do Europe ...Take two

and it's full of French people!!!

Who make absolutely no effort to speak English, or if they do mispronounce words by saying "zis" instead of "this".

Absolutely disgraceful:mad:

as an aside to all this, no aspersions on tam , but if you cant motorhome in france you are stuffed most other places, we have been to spain in the van and wouldnt think of doing it again , same with portugal, both very nice places but nowhere near as motorhome friendly as france. spain and portugal, ryanair bed and breakfast made for each other, van no .
must add this is just my observation , not knocking anyone who disagrees.

Nothing to do with not speaking English and you added someone elses quote to mine about mispronunciation.

Feel free to quote me, but don't misquote me.

What?

I quoted your post that read "And its full of French people!" so how on earth did I misquote you?

It was my comment about mispronunciation, not someone else's.

That's what I think too. Some the grate is hinged so it can be lifted which I think is normal but this one was fixed.

It's in a right mess and embarrassing as you don't want the person behind thinking it was you.

At Canterbury P+R the grating over the dump point, for both grey and black waste, slides by use of a rope, but many people are too thick or lazy to do that and empty the cassette on top of the grating.

The rope should definitely not be handled without gloves!!!!

Some people do remove the grating - but then do not put it back, presumably hoping to watch a MH backing up to dump grey waste to drop a wheel in:(

Apart from that the facilities are great. The new facilities at the other P+R will be even better.

Geoff

Not fussed about restaurant's I never eat out in the evening anyway ...but most supermarkets in Spain don't close at lunchtime ...probably loose loads of potential trade
Most supermarkets in France dont close for lunch,,BUSBY

I think I'll be trying to get the Santander to Portsmouth ferry back when I'm heading home too.

Tricky with the doggies, I think the dog friendly cabins sell out very quickly and they make not like the on board kennels.
However, I hope you soon get back to somewhere you are happier touring and there is still a lot of Spain to discover.
I will suggest taking some of the Camino routes and stops towards Santiago. There are lots of inexpensive restaurants and every evening there will be people of all ages and nationalities around and I’m sure you could have some lovely people interactions if you show a little interest in their journey and your doggies will be a big draw for them to approach you in turn.

Found this on another blog I was reading, it reminded me of your previous thoughts , guess we’re all just human

Sun) In the pub at the moment charging my laptops, feeling a tadge sorry for myself, on occasions it all gets on top of me, I feel so so lonely sometimes, it really is hard. I don't mean hard as in hardship of living I mean hard in the solace I have to endure. Not long ago I had a house, a family, children around me, and now its just me. No one to talk to, no one to watch TV with, no one to laugh or joke with or.. even argue with. Nothing. Just me, and It Fxcks me up

Getting lonely, It's hard on your own. Having some fun times yeh but I reckon most people couldn't do this. It's a lot of mental pressure. Alone 90% of the day. I sometimes wonder about my life.

However, it's perfectly possible to still be alone/lonely within a group or amongst a crowd.

Nice pics Tam, I've missed too much of your thread now to even try and catch up but at least via WhatsApp I sorta know where you've been . (y)

I then went to brezier where I spent 3 nights by the canal. I met a young lad there who was homeless living in his van which was a right old wreck.it was quite funny at first as he actually knocked on my door and asked if he could have some sugar for his coffee......he had 2 stray cats and 2 stray dogs living in it with him , I've never seen a lad so dirty in this day and age...hands like he's been down the pit ...hair like a birdsnest and clothes in tatters :( ...So I let him use my shwer and i offloaded some t shirts a jumper and a couple of pairs of trousers ...they might be a little big on him but at least they were in one peice and clean ...and I've way too many clothes. He spoke reasonable English for a frog :p ...poor lad couldn't be more than 19 or 20 years old .

Anyway we had a nice walk along canal to visit the 9 locks and up to the city to see the cathedral but couldn't as it's partly covered in scaffolding and the other side has a massive tree in front. Best pic I got of it was from the bridge on the canal.

After brezier I headed to narbonne for a services and then drove on to Spain and got here Saturday afternoon to port de la selva
Its been very windy since getting here ...overnight Saturday I thought Toby was going to blow over despite hiding behind a big Concorde for shelter. Had a walk along the coast to the lighthouse yesterday in the wind which was hilarious as Milo was getting blown over

Smashing pictures Tam, looks like a lovely area even if it is France.
I wonder how many Ponts de Diable there are in France.
We looked down on another one at Thueyts, just off the N102, in the Rhone Alps a couple of years ago.

Richard.

Great pics Tam. Just west of Narbonne there’s a field full of those old Citroen vans with the corrugated iron bodies, don’t know what they’re called. Guy there does them up for resale. Always wanted to buy one and drive it home to England but was “discouraged” by the duchess.
I know we aren’t meant to criticise spelling on here, but you mean Bezier don’t you! And roses......Rodez?:D;)
Enjoy your day!
Well done for helping the Frenchie kid!:)
