Are they tasty?

If cooked correctly they are quite meaty , but they are really difficult to catch. They also have a thick stomach lining which needs a good clean.
They fight like demons and have a soft thick lip which is often detached during the fight

Mine love the vets and rush to get into the consulting room and are not bothered by injections all they hate is the dreaded rectal thermometer.

Pics from this mornings doggy walk . Lovely beach at Puerto de mazarron , churros and coffee , I ordered a cafe negra , I got a cafe con leche and it was cold buy hey ho. Jackie had hot chocolate.

It's warm now. Phone app says 20° but feels a bit warmer . Lovely .

Thing were going to head up to totana as there's a parade tomorrow that could be worth a visit

many years ago, infact on our honeymoon , I managed to get one out of the marina at Fuengirola, the chef at the hotel cooked it for our dinner that night, no idea what he put with it if anything but it was bloody delicious, I had to drag it round to some steps to get it out lol

We are parked up at La santa now outside of Totana . Got here about 4 ish I think , managed to get a look in the church and a walk around the gardens . It was fairly quiet then with only a dozen or so people about but they were preparing the statue for the parade down to the village tomorrow so at the minute not sure if it will be a quiet or a noisy night . At the moment you could hear a pin drop outside its eerily quiet . Not even a passing car or animal noises it's just silence.

Yeah that's right , we're in the carpark at the bottom this time. Probably stay here a couple of nights as there's nice options for walking .

Well if not its OK as we're aware it might not be , but hoping to see some of the procession tomorrow. Jackie's first time in Spain so she's not seen any of this stuff. I really enjoyed all the Easter celebrations so would be nice to see some of the Christmas ones.

I'll be quite happy as long as I don't gain any weight while I'm away ...I knew I'd want to eat out etc and more so over Christmas and hopefully Morocco where I can try all the different foods etc , then when I'm back in Scotland I'll knuckle down again and lose the other stone or so I want to . At the minute I'm still under the 16 stone so that's good as I have had quite a few treats etc while I've been away . Evenings is the worst when I give in to biscuits etc .

But I made sure I've a set of scales with me lol , I go over 16 stone and I'll be back to the strict diet again lol

Yes Spain and the Greek peloponnese are definitely my 2 favourite countries . But I think Spain has the edge for me as I get a mix between beautiful beaches lovely mountain areas but also great architecture etc ...so it kind of has it all. And I can speak and understand at least some of the language which does help


And then there's latinos mucho gusto

I'm carrying 5 fishing rods in this van I really should use them at some point lol.

Those fish always look like really easy targets as their so close to the harbour wall etc ... but I suppose looks can be deceiving. I do always wonder why there isn't anyone trying to catch them there.

Grey mullet are extremely wary and are difficult to catch with a rod, you need to get yourself a cast net Tam.

I would say don’t buy the biscuits in the first place.
But I drink wine and if I wanted to cut it out , you would say don’t buy it.

Dinnae come near my van at tea time Tam.... lol they're all wee Moroccan biscuits (and no it's not a wee bit of weed in the top of the plate! )
