Did you test the van out up "The Electric Brae"?, that should have saved some diesel eh?
I always wondered about parking on Croy Beach, its that narrow bit past the Croyburnfoot Caravan Park that looked a bit tight.

There's a tight turn in a dip there where quite a few vehicles have grounded before, careful on the way out again.

Aye I saw signs for electric brae...not sure if I passed it yet as I was expecting something steep.


There is quite a tight bit just along the road but by that time I was committed anyway so just went fir it. But made it ok with room to spare.

I only put 1 tablespoon of sugar in as the apples were quite sweet anyway . So it's not bad not too sweet . But I've no ice cream or custard anyway so just a slice with a coffee.

We've been for our morning walk and just about to head off to another spot this time in the North part of Galloway forest ...I know this spot often doesn't have good Internet signal...in fact it's pretty non exsistant so if I dissappear for 24 hours that will be why ..but its too nice a spot to miss.

So will see what we see

Before I left mum's I picked all the apples from our orchard ( one tree ) but had surprisingly a large crop.

Make apple and apple turnovers

So guess what I've been doing , now I'm not gonna say I'm a Baker...cause I'm better at eating cake than making cake but how hard can it be eh

Peeled a dozen apples, chopped in a pot with a tablespoon of sugar and a couple of teaspoons of cinnamon .... boiled it up for a bit to mix and soften .

Popped some shortcrust in a pie tin ...and some puff on a baking tray .. filled ( deep filled ) with stewed apple and cinnamon . Then in the oven for 20 minutes . The smell is amazing View attachment 662717View attachment 662718View attachment 662719View attachment 662720

yep we had a bumper crop off our tree too, so I have done what you have done and made apple pies and crumbles and stewed the rest of the apples and froze them ....

Lunch stop and doggy walk . Zero Internet or phone signal there unfortunately . And not many walks that weren't on the road which headcases are flying down so moving on to glentrool

Tonight's parkup . Always been a favourite spot of mine down this way , although I have to say I've always thought Bruce's stone should have been called boaby's boulder...it would sound more Scottish..
Took me ages and about 10 photos before I managed to get a couple of the dogs in front of the stone where they weren't either fighting or licking their bits.


We might have a go at the merrick tomorrow or a dander roond the big puddle , depends if its dry or pissin it doon.
