Tam n pups winter trip 2022

So this is what I've been doing today. Had Derek Razamataz giving me a hand this morning till I got the main bit covered then he went home for a heat while I spent the next hour or two finishing off all the edges and fitting the new lights ....

Turned out rather well , not sure about the new lights, don't think they'll be as bright as the old ones but all 3 of them use 1.2amps together whereas the old ones used about 2.3amps each.

Lights seem bright enough after all.

Perfect that's reduced my power use at night by a third on the lights.

If I only have the fire on it uses no power for that. If i have both fans running then it uses 1.5amp . ...I had both on this morning for a bit when we got up .

But i very rarely would have both fans on and I never have all 3 lights on either so happy days...I should hopefully not have power worries on this trip.

Van is looking really good now Tam. I am impressed!
Lovely job looking good all Set for your next adventure (y)
hard to believe that is the van you bought
Aye its come a long way since I bought it end of June, I'm glad I got all the biggest jobs done before we found out about mum as I doubt I'd have done it otherwise. I nearly gave up on it when I discovered the extent of the leaks and the rot. I just hope that I've now solved the issues it had and that it proves to be a good van on this trip. And then I'll see what I decide to do next year. There's still work to be done on it , some is just cosmetic and others are just little jobs to make life easier. I've packed the paint etc I bought to tidy up bits here and there so I'll do them somewhere warmer and drier. The step needs sorting as it's a pita. And I've still the bathroom to sort out longterm but that can wait for now.

I think to date including buying it I've spent around 14k on it. I'd hope it was worth a bit more than that but who knows .

You have obviously never tried getting money out of a Scott.
Hey I'll be doing the hard job , fixing that old kia of yours 🤣. Might fix my reverse switch myself too . But if I have to bypass it and fit a flick switch etc then I may need some assistance. But that step is driving me crazy ... poor milo can't get in the van without it.

Changed your mind then? You said you wouldn't do it in the grey carpet.

Yeah I initially thought about painting it lighter grey, but then the condensation on the roof in the mornings made me decide carpet was the way to go .. decided to keep it a one colour and its come out quite well I think.

26° here today, but you're not coming this way, are you?

Have a great trip anyway.
Not this year . I want to explore Turkey and then maybe the balkans again on the way back from Turkey as it was a bit cold the last time I did them... I'd quite like to see more of Bulgaria and Romania

Tam I bought this wee boy earlier for a bit of craic on the beaches & deserts in Maroc ( or as Rosie would say... ("so you've bought more shite to put in your sheds") lol
