I got a couple from Dunelm …

That's where ours came from they are OK but do need brushing a few times a week to keep them in good shape.

Last week we we at a German Market there was a stall with only sheep skins.
Cheapest were €60 the best were I think €200 and you could really tell the difference.
I think we will probably invest in some new ones for the new van and they won't be the cheap Dunelm ones.

Have they been ‘cured’ or or ‘prepped’ properly? Just a thought.
Folk are correct in previous posts re them absorbing/releasing moisture though in my experience.

I'm not sure , the ones I have in my van I bought in Azrou from one of the huts at the monkey forest. The other ones I have I bought from the tannery in fez.

These are what we bought. They wash really well. No sign of moisture and no numb bums either

Wool .. my nemesis ... just the thought of sitting on them is bringing me out in a rash, same is if I actually DO sit on them ... I can't bear wool touching me, it makes me itch like mad and brings me out in a nasty sore rash ... I'll stick to my fake leopard skin ones ... even though I'm a roughty-toughty Yorkshire lass I won't attempt to deprive leopards of their real skins!

The Eagle eyed might say " its not identical to the other side" but it was never identical to the other side when it left the factory either. And to make it identical now would be very difficult. But I think it looks rather good for now.

There's still a few bits I want to add but that's the biggest bits done .

As for the damp Sheepskin it’s possible that particular one didn’t get tanned properly or not as well as the others, just leave that one out!

I think all of those external plastics would suit Halfords (or another) grey primer spray job. As with all motors, wheels make a big difference, can you get trims for those wheels?

Heya Tam. Just been catching up as not been subscribed for the last year as we moved back home and didn't go traveling last winter. Sorry to hear you've had a tough year and condolences for your mum. I look forward to following your travels this winter and will probably hit you up for some advice about Morocco as we are planning to go this winter.

Yeah I plan to paint the plastics as the cassette door and the gas bbq/shower etc has yellowed. Can't decide whether to paint them grey though or body coloured. I need to paint the mirrors too as they're chipped

Oh great. We are leaving Nehaven on the 31st of December so will be in Morroco a similar time I reckon. Actually keen to see if there are others going over together as it's our 1st time

I honestly don't believe this but just had funeral parlour on the phone again . The funeral has to go back to original time of 10am but its yet another priest that's doing the service.


My mum is having a right old laugh somewhere. ...I've now got to contact everyone again . They'll be thinking I'm taking the piss
