Tam n pups winter trip 2022

How crap a design is this? No wonder this van leaked, photo doesn't show it clear enough but this seam is completely under water

I just hope my sealant holds up

In other news I've been doing some of the graphics today. To cover the marks left from the old ones

That makes it look so much better.

Standing water on the seam shouldn't cause a problem but what about tidying it up with a section of ½ round trunking over the seam would also give more protection.

My mammy and her mammy

My mammy in town with my granny , note the caliper on my mums leg. She had polio as a child which was the later cause of all her Mobility issues, it left her with one leg shorter than the other which caused her hip and knee problems.

I love her smile in this pic , and is how I prefer to remember her than more recent pics where her health had declined.

My mum had a great sense of humour and could always lighten a mood and say the right thing .
Great pictures Tam you had me in tears there,I lost my mum 6 months ago and I still have my moments. Van is coming along nicely to.👍
Cheers Cris.

My mum was always one for changing her mind , it was a longstanding joke that anything she bought there was a good chance she would take it back either to exchange it or get a refund.

So we weren't surprised today when the funeral directors called and said the time of the funeral has been changed. Something about a family emergency with the priest but we all know its really mum having the last laugh .

I've now to contact everyone again to give them the new details lol.

I can only think some form of condensation but I don't know from or where. Do the dogs drink and drool? Ours drink and then shake water off their mouth.

Dog drool when they do a flap attack...

Maybe not the full on intensity of a greyhound but all dogs give themselves a shake.
Nah this is like little beads of moisture ...but the sheepskin is now damp . It's like it's being dripped on . I'll need to leave it off the seat tonight and see if the seat gets wet. I'm baffled as to where its coming from

Yep but not on there , they won't lie on the seat if the sheepskin is folded over. That's why I do it

Hi Tam
My Moby like yours has fibreglass doors (mine has 2). The passenger door let rainwater in because there were no seals fitted - I've fitted seals now round the doors

Mine only has one door and that's on the opposite side from this seat. But my door seals are fine. Windscreen now sealed too. It don't make any sense as there's nowt above it to leak. But that's at least 3 mornings now

I’ve not used sheepskins in the van so I haven’t experienced it but I think I might have read somewhere on here before about someone else experiencing damp on them somehow but I can’t remember who it was 😂

But why wouldn't the other one
Swap them over ,see if the damp one still carries on getting damp,or if the other one starts getting damp then at least you will know if it's the sheepskin or position 👍

Wool is a hygroscopic fibre. As the humidity of the surrounding air rises and falls, the fibre absorbs and releases water vapour.
Clip from an article I've just read, maybe the damp sheepskin is more hygroscopic than the other👍

100% condensation from the Ali strip it comes at due point in the early morning, drips a few and by the time your up the strip is probably dry, stick something to it like kitchen roll tonight and you’ll see it…👍🏼

Tam, Lay paper/newspaper etc on seat and other areas where possible drips may be dropping. This will help to identify and trace back the initial water source. May have to repeat this a couple of times to identify source.
Water is good at using ledges etc to run and drop away from entry point.
It’s possible for a drip to happen only every few minutes. Patience may well be required.
PS I suggest the above through experience 😞

While we are on the subject of sheepskin, do they stop u from getting a numb arse while driving for long periods. If this is the case I shall buy a pair😁
Not quite but they are a whole lot more body friendly than standard covers got mine from Ali Express

Is the underside of the mattress ventilated with slats or anything? I remember in our old caravan, the top of the table which dropped to form bed base, was always covered in condensation in the morning, from our sleeping bodies.

Yep it's on slats but dry under there too . Everything dry bar that sheepskin

Nah there's no trace anywhere on that Ali strip .

I'm gonna take the sheepskins out to let them dry and see if anything else gets wet
