And? You liked it?
He did but he ideally wants automatic, whereas I prefer manual

Anyway I sent malcolm a message about it earlier and I'm going to phone him for a chat about it later.

Have you actually been anywhere in this one?
Going to Lenny's doesn't count.
Can't see me getting anywhere in it either to be honest, mum can't be left on her own at all now and with just me and my sister doing everything it's hard even to do any of the jobs I need to do on it.

Brother is near useless, he was through today , asked him to watch mum for an hour and got a lot of excuses so been in house all day . Spending another night in here too as sister not well today . She's coming up to help get mum in to bed etc as somethings are better done by her but then she's going home again .

Busy busy busy these days .

I should add , I'm not complaining, I will do anything to make mum comfortable and happy. And I also understand my brother lost his wife to cancer etc , but he gets off lightly and its irritating.

mum in lots of pain tonight and very tired so just getting her up to bed. Hoping the dogs dint steal my pizza

God bless her. Cancer is a bastard🤬

Thinking of you Tam. It’s hard for you and your sister. As others have said you will need something to do when Mum passes on. I’ll be interested in your chat with owner of RMB. DO let us know if he’d accept your offer? 🤣

Just a thought Tam, would it not be easier to make your mums bed up downstairs just to make life easier for you all.

It would and we suggested it ages ago but she's not having it. Bathroom is upstairs though so would still have probs getting her up and down.

If I knew for certain I was going to continue fulltime vanlife then I'd likely dive in and buy that rmb as other than the upholstery and converting it to lithium etc it's almost perfect for me and combines a nice motorhome with a merc vario durability.

But at the minute I've no idea how I will feel later on and this van being cheap leaves me a lot of financial security next year if I want to return to bricks n mortar
I can fully understand your reasoning on the RMB and further consideration when it could be a full time 24/7 arrangement particularly as you will no longer have a base to park a number of Vans for future projects, therefore, you have to consider a much longer term view of your lifestyle change as you will be pretty much stuck with it.
In addition once time passes and the level of a new normality kicks in your thoughts on Bricks and Mortar may well be in Portugal as you have previously mentioned or elsewhere abroad.

l do get you being persuaded by the options the RMB offers the four of you.

Tam, When my mother was dying we contacted Macmillan Nurses. the were fantastic and they were there almost every day until the end.
Aye they've offered but she doesn't want them

Milo just had another one of those seizures , lasted nearly 10 minutes that time , not had one since we were in Spain.

Sods law as my sister was here and I wanted her to video it but palliative care nurse phoned at the same time , so never caught it on video. He's always pushed right in to me when he has them so I can't video it myself . As usual he's fine afterwards like nothings happened

Maybe you could talk to the Macmillan nurses about your mum not wanting anyone in. I'm sure that's not unusual but you and your sister need the help. I expect they've had to work around that problem before.
We found with our parents that they didn't want carers in (not with help with nursing I'm glad to say but washing, getting up etc) but when someone came it didn't take long before they accepted them as being useful and also another friendly face in the house some of the time.
You're both doing a good job but it is hard physically and emotionally.

Maybe nearer the end but sis and I are managing OK just now. Just back from asda with mum , she enjoys getting out the house .

Perhaps Milo has picked up your stress and worry over your Mum.
You said Ela had noticed.
Oh no Tam the last thing you need is something else to worry about. I hope Milo is ok.
He's been having these events over the last couple of years but thankfully not very often , it's definitely some sort of seizure, the first one or two he had I thought it was his heart but I now think its more a seizure, not a fit as he's not jerking about etc he just goes rigid , his jaw clamps shut and he trembles and drools , eyes are staring and blank and breathing a bit fast ...it lasts about 5 minutes usually then he slowly becomes more aware ...but takes about 10 minutes before his muscles relax and he starts looking around etc ... then a few minutes later he's absolutely fine

We had a rescue dog a few years ago that started with one isolated epileptic fit that gradually became more frequent. Initially controlled with medication but he often went into crisis (status epilepticus) which is life threatening. We had to control immediate situation with rectal Valium then urgently get him to the vet. Often took him several days to stabilise . He was eventually on a cocktail of anti convulsants. Wonderful boy who succumbed to something entirely different.
