Your dogs living the best life ever...We have done a fair bit of driving today , after our morning walk which we just had around the Belleek forest Park again we headed off following the coast up to Ballycastle...we went to a few spots that over excited park4night contributers had made out to sound heaven on earth only to find a dead little village with nothing to see bar the sea ...so ended up skipping a large chunk of coast and cutting down through wild nephin national park ....I jumped out the van a few times here to take the odd photograph and on one of these occasions disaster struck ....I accidentally hit the push down button for the door lock on the way out and ended up locking myself out the bloody motorhome engine running , dogs all in the van all lockers etc locked and me on the side of the road in the middle of nowhere , fortunately I hadn't slammed the cab door so while it was on the catch and locked it wasn't completely closed so there was a small gap ...but off course all the lockers with my tools etc in were locked ...the only one that wasn't was the little hatch where I fitted my compressor but of course I can't fit through that one. . Luckily for me the charger cable for my wee hoover was in there , so I managed to make a noose and pull the button up but I did have 10 minutes of panic and scouting around on the ground trying to find something suitable before that.
These are the pics from there . ...and my wee noose that saved my life View attachment 675690View attachment 675691View attachment 675692View attachment 675693
We then headed on to burrishoole Abbey, which is a ruin but not coastline so a change is as good as a holiday eh lol
We had lunch there and another wee walk . I had considered spending the night there but had zero Internet connection and not much options for a morning walk etc so decided to move on to the next village which is Newport. Lots of no camper and overnight parking signs here unfortunately ..so can't stay in any of the carparks but I found a side street with no signs so bugger it I'm staying here tonight . We had another wee walk around the town , the house with the red ivy is Newport House, then the cathedral and then over the old railway viaduct which is now just a footbridge . And back to the camper . We've been lucky today and the rain stayed off but it's on now and chucking it down . Not planning to go out again now though so I'm not bothered. We've possibly missed a few scenic spots by cutting out a section of coast but to be honest I never planned to do the whole 1600km of coastline as that's just too.much off the same thing . I could be doing with some sort of quick reference plan of things that are worth going to see and stuff that isn't as obviously a lot of the waw is not that fantastic but many things are . So many walks, so much to explore, new experiences every stop.
