Tam n pups winter trip 2022

We have done a fair bit of driving today , after our morning walk which we just had around the Belleek forest Park again we headed off following the coast up to Ballycastle...we went to a few spots that over excited park4night contributers had made out to sound heaven on earth only to find a dead little village with nothing to see bar the sea ...so ended up skipping a large chunk of coast and cutting down through wild nephin national park ....I jumped out the van a few times here to take the odd photograph and on one of these occasions disaster struck ....I accidentally hit the push down button for the door lock on the way out and ended up locking myself out the bloody motorhome 🤦‍♂️ engine running , dogs all in the van all lockers etc locked and me on the side of the road in the middle of nowhere , fortunately I hadn't slammed the cab door so while it was on the catch and locked it wasn't completely closed so there was a small gap ...but off course all the lockers with my tools etc in were locked ...the only one that wasn't was the little hatch where I fitted my compressor but of course I can't fit through that one. . Luckily for me the charger cable for my wee hoover was in there , so I managed to make a noose and pull the button up but I did have 10 minutes of panic and scouting around on the ground trying to find something suitable before that.

These are the pics from there . ...and my wee noose that saved my life View attachment 675690View attachment 675691View attachment 675692View attachment 675693

We then headed on to burrishoole Abbey, which is a ruin but not coastline so a change is as good as a holiday eh lol

We had lunch there and another wee walk . I had considered spending the night there but had zero Internet connection and not much options for a morning walk etc so decided to move on to the next village which is Newport. Lots of no camper and overnight parking signs here unfortunately ..so can't stay in any of the carparks but I found a side street with no signs so bugger it I'm staying here tonight . We had another wee walk around the town , the house with the red ivy is Newport House, then the cathedral and then over the old railway viaduct which is now just a footbridge . And back to the camper . We've been lucky today and the rain stayed off but it's on now and chucking it down . Not planning to go out again now though so I'm not bothered. We've possibly missed a few scenic spots by cutting out a section of coast but to be honest I never planned to do the whole 1600km of coastline as that's just too.much off the same thing . I could be doing with some sort of quick reference plan of things that are worth going to see and stuff that isn't as obviously a lot of the waw is not that fantastic but many things are . I haven't...its just a case of turning the key off and on at present till that padlock light goes off . It usually does after 2 or 3 times . Then it starts first turn if the light is off.

she's a wee cutey and just smiling and the most sociable out the 3 of them.
We had a Jack Russell years ago & he used to smile like that when you arrived home.

I had an mpv that used to do that. So annoying. Mate suggested doing what he had done. strip all the covers around the ignition switch & when it fails to go out hunt around the transponder with the spare chipped key until the light goes off. remove chip & tape in place permanently.:LOL:Refit covers.

Hopefully, enjoying himself...
...not to mention creating the content to keep us all amused.

Yes, I'm aware you were trying to be humorous... but it takes quite a lot of time and effort to diarise a day.

Hi again Tam,
Just saw your latest updates and your asking for places worth visiting etc, I am loathe to try to tell people wheres good and where isn't and obviously the weather plays a massive part hence your reading park4night reviews sounding great but it probably was when they were sitting on a warm evening watching the sun go down over the Atlantic knowing its just awakening the folk in the east of America as it hits the horizon its quite a sensation to experience but unfortunately your arriving in Autumn when it's blowing a hooley and lashing! 😂🤣
But for what's it worth I'll hit you with a few places you might enjoy, obviously everyone has different ideas of it but here goes... (from where you are now)
Westport.. beautiful little town in the shadow of Irelands holy mountain Croagh Patrick ( nows there's a hike for you!) Lol
Further south Connemara national park... Irelands Highlands beautiful scenery and lots of film locations from John Wayne's The Quiet Man to Maureen O'Haras Gone with the Wind ( there's 100s of beautiful places to see, Mams Cross, Kylemore Abbey to name just a couple
Leenane, Irelands only fjords where the fresh salmon is to die for, back on the coast road through Letterfrack, Clifton, Roundstone Spiddal and into Galway take the Sky Road it'll blow your mind its like Alton Towers in a motorhome lol
After Galway your into County Clare, and check out The Burren (Lunar landscape like nowhere on earth) Full of ancient Dolmens and fauna you'll not see anywhere else, out to the coast again Lisdoonvarna (the town of lovers) you'll hopefully find out when you get there lol
The Cliffs of Moher breathtakingly beautiful
From here personally I wouldn't bother with Limerick although it has a beautiful castle of St John but not much else (sorry Limerick lol)
I would get the wee ferry (costs buttons) across the Shannon estuary to Tarbert , your now in County Kerry, Tralee, Killarney etc in this area you'll be spoilt for choice for places to explore, castles, lighthouses etc etc including the Ring of Kerry, check out Lady view (named so by Queen Victoria on her visit to Ireland who said it was the most beautiful view in the world) Macgillycuddys reeks (Mountain range) further south the road to Kenmare Bantry Bay heading into County Cork, towns like Skibbereen and Kinsale by the time you've seen all this you could head inland again, Tipperary (it's a long way you know! Lol) castles and ruins galore, Kilkenny the same.... hopefully by this time you'll be ready for Europe and beyond! 🙂
Of course you could ignore all this and just do what you want.... 😂🤣
But I'll throw on a few pics here to whet your appetite 😉

I accidentally hit the push down button for the door lock on the way out and ended up locking myself out the bloody motorhome 🤦‍♂️ engine running , dogs all in the van all lockers etc locked and me on the side of the road in the middle of nowhere , fortunately I hadn't slammed the cab door so while it was on the catch and locked it wasn't completely closed so there was a small gap ...but off course all the lockers with my tools etc in were locked ...the only one that wasn't was the little hatch where I fitted my compressor but of course I can't fit through that one. . Many years ago Alan got locked out of our car at the side of the M6. Greenflag man came to help and said "if I can't get this unlocked you need to pick a window for me to smash", luckily he managed to unlock it. It happened to us once more in the car park of Pidou in Calais and there was an ambulance coach parked so Alan borrowed a metal coat hanger from the driver and broke into the car to open the door. It was an electrical fault and we got it repaired after that.

Some people don’t have access to that. You could post a thread in the pets section for some photos of your dogs.
Thanks, someone told me at the time, but I haven't put anymore up since.

Yes, and that's the reason I am not going to bore the arse off him by putting up pics of me and my dogs:giggle:(y)

Jeeso tinder

Who's idea was this?

Don't get me wrong I'm getting a fair amount of interest and quite a few messages. But honestly everyone of them 2 or 3 questions in I get " what do you do for a living/work " etc

And answering " I work part time when I need to "

Does not satisfy any of these people....I then get a dozen more questions fishing...it feels like an interview Oh Please!

Honestly when did the world become so obsessed by work and money ?

I've tried changing the conversation and it either comes back to that or the conversation dies and they dissappear

I think I'll be deleting it again as it's depressing

Knowing what people do in life is important for people seeking a relation ship, however you need to explain your life style, it might not appeal to lots of people but there will be people who are looking just for what you stand for in life, and yes forget about tinder for any serious relationships , it’s for other purposes , give Match a go, much better, but just realise that your nomadic lifestyle doesn’t make dating easy, it might attract people but only after they have fallen in love with you, that takes time and isn’t easy when you are constantly on the road, but there is a business idea there, start a dating site specifically for full timers, thank me later but don’t forget my 25% share of the dating site generated income please, it all goes towards the Morelo fund😇

It is probably they dont want to lumber themselves with what they consider to be a liability , rather find a sugar daddy , thats the main prob with shallow tech . Dont let it get you down you never know whats round the corner :)

Maybe just take some time out for a while and concentrate on your wellbeing and your dogs. I know lots of people on here, me included really love your posts and comments. You are looking in the wrong places Tam.

To be honest how you live your life should not bother genuine people. I know for a fact if someone met you, liked you then fell in love with you they would live in a tent on a dirty boggy field with you AND your dogs!! That's what I would do if I fell in love with someone, then maybe later talk about moving into a building:giggle:

Put a brief description of your lifestyle in your bio. That'll help filter out a lot of the folk who aren't keen.

Most A Class owners only use the hab door. - Stupid Boy.
Lots of no camper and overnight parking signs here unfortunately ..so can't stay in any of the carparks
Not been for a few years, normally the locals tell you park in front of the signs, they are only there for the travelers.

Aye but when I'm just nipping out to take a photo I'm no going to climb through the back standing on dogs etc. It's quicker to just go out my drivers door . Anyway the hab door has a habit of locking itself anyway lol.

I did that originally and still had folk starting a convo and disappearing.

Think I'll just delete it again , saves me getting any disappointment.

Put a clothes peg on the button so you can't knock it down so easily or at least it would make you aware before you slam the door.

Problem is getting anyone to actually meet up these days . It's either all online chat or folk wanting to meet purely for a bit " fun" .

No one seems interested in actually dating etc these days ...its soul destroying.
