Tam n pups winter trip 2022

Take care Tam driving home, good to hear that you are feeling better now 👌

Sitting in Lane 1 at 65mph coming up behind a truck so I indicate , check mirrors nothing there in lane 2 , check again clear so I pulls out , next thing I'm being hit by the rear end of a Renault captur.... knocks me over in to lane 1 and hard shoulder ..

He's adamant I hit him ...I don't see how he could have suddenly got in to lane 2 unless he pulled in from lane 3 just as I was pulling out .

But given I'm in a left hand drive and there's always a blind spot it may have been my fault but I think it's more likely 50/50.

He doesn't want to go through insurance, it's mostly his alloy wheel that's marked and a scratch on rear arch. ..mine is mostly paint on the bumper but a bit fibreglass damage , he wants £50 to cover wheel damage without going through insurance, I can't be bothered arguing the toss so I said I'd phone him tomorrow View attachment 804690View attachment 804691View attachment 804697View attachment 804701
Probably rub out with T-Cut his. Yours well he should be giving you the £50

Looks like you both moved in to the same lane at the same time, if that is not 50/50 what is? In skiing/snowboarding etiquette, the uphill skier/snowboarder is responsible, he's uphill as he's chopping your nose off, I'm sure that will stand up in a court of law 😂 😂

Tend to agree Tam. He's probably come down lane 3, pulled back into lane 2 as you leave lane 1. But he must have been flying as you would still see him in lane 3 when you indicated?

Not trying to worry you Tam, but a few weeks back, I woke up in bed needing a pee, swung legs out the bed, stood up, world started spinning, fell against the bedroom window pulling curtain off its rail. I couldn't walk a straight line, bumping into door frames, walls en- route to the loo.
I went back to bed, slept a while, when I woke the same thing but I had loud ringing in both ears, and a banging headache, still dizzy made it down to kitchen, but just felt crap all that day, feeling sick but not vomiting.
My wife woke up ill also, bad thumping headache, high temperature, and was coughing incessantly, really bad chesty cough, so phoned The GP
I ended up taking her to A&E on the advice of the GP after the phone call to the surgery. He had phoned the hospital ear, nose and throat team, and the general medical team, and they said bring her straight in.
Hell knows how I got the strength to get her up the drive and into the car, as she couldn't walk with the coughing & breathlessness, and I felt so ill also. Luckily the hospital is only a mile up the road.
After an initial triage, we waited 4 hours in reception before being taken into the A&E dept, she had a high temp of 38C plus, and was diagnosed with viral pneumonia and Covid.
They kept her in an isolation room, did all the blood tests, chest X rays, plus a CT scan with dye. She was in for 3/4 days on steroids & anti biotics.
I was told that if she had Covid then I probably had Covid also, but they sent me home with no drugs, I was told to keep hydrated, take Paracetamol and rest.
I slept for 2/3 days for the most part, still dizzy, with headache, and ears still ringing, couldn't eat, just cups of Tea and water.
I got the call to come and collect the wife and bring her home, I was still feeling crap, not quite as bad, but she was much better, probably because the drugs they gave her helped.
I did lateral flow tests for Covid, they were negative, but was told they are not accurate in detecting the current Covid strain of virus.
I needed a blood test, I guess, but was never offered one at the time.
It took a while, just over a week, but I did get better slowly, and the dizziness plus ear ringing & headaches subsided.
I wouldn't want to get that version of Covid again, hope they roll out some new vacs this winter.

Take care Tam don't rely on lateral flow tests for this bout of Covid, they don't always work, go see a GP if you still feel wonky.

Honestly I'm totally fine. , nuts have given me stomach probs before just never made me dizzy like this morning but I've had a thirst on me all day . I think it's just been the nuts and the Warm weather. Also being on the roof in the heat etc.

Once I'd had something to eat and a lot of water this morning I was fine and have been OK all the way up the road today.

I'm quite hardy usually .

How's your mum, Tam?
Not seen her yet , she's still sleeping, so heavy on drugs overnight now. Sister has been staying here overnights now since last week.

Dogs all waiting patiently

Just to put a smile on your face, I forget did your mam ever notice the dog scratches on the door or did you manage to hide them. I hope you have a good day today.

She never saw them as eyesight was always bad since , but I fessed up last year and told her

Apparently she had a living wake with all her granddaughters and great grandsons yesterday , spent the day looking at old photos etc , gave them all money and some jewellery etc , sister says she was quite upset afterwards though as I think she thinks it's the last time she'll see them. I've spent most of this morning bubbling like a child. I don't know but I'm just getting a feeling that it's not going to be a longtime left

Do the dogs sense something is wrong Tam, I know they sometimes sense things.
Yes definitely...ela in particular.

And I think mum's went in to setting her house in order mode.

Had a very tearful morning , she's given me her wedding ring and an old silver pendant with photos of my brother ,sister and I inside
