Tam n pups winter trip 2022

We all like different vans and that’s the way it should be.

Personally I’m not a fan of that horse box conversion.

Now that iconic Hymer was lovely you linked, to me you will always get your money back and possibly make some on the classic Hymer but your resale clientele will be severely limited on the horse box in comparison.

Just my opinion as I say.
The old hymer was lovely and if I'd been able to go view it ,make sure the welding had been done right etc and it drove OK I would have bought that for 10k ...I wouldn't have paid the 12k for it though.

But I liked the layout , chances of another one coming up in the timescale i have is slim though.

I liked the drive of the iveco I had 2 years ago ....it was just too small and a bit shitty inside.

I no longer want an expensive van , I'd rather have a larger savings behind me possibly gaining interest now and a cheaper useable practical van I can live and travel in.

The more I look at the race van the more I like it. Its more vanlife than a motorhome and by the time I'd fettled with it a bit inside and out I think it would do me well .

I'm just waiting for the reg number from the guy so I can check it's mot history then I'm probably ready to make my offer on it.

Lol sod that , I'd be spending a few grand on it at most and apart from a few modifications I'd be keeping it basically like it is . The 2 bunks would go and be replaced with more storage etc. But the garage would be staying and I'd possibly update some of the appliances as and when required. It's perfectly useable as it is and I don't have any intentions of having a vehicle worth more than say 15k at present. I want something useable and not going to be precious about it. I'll make it homely and functional etc but not looking to invest a fortune on it.

Same with whatever I buy this time

That's another reason I'm not building the vario
I expect those lockers to be cleaner then clean Tam, they look filthy and you like a clean van lol🤷🏻‍♂️

Yeah but they'd be carrying tools and outdoor stuff . So not too much trouble . Inside looks OK though I thought .

Take the plane south on Saturday yes?
Not quite that soon . I'd be trying to leave it till around 11th July to collect it as the euramobil should be going a few days after that. Flights from Edinburgh to Newquay ain't simple...but if I fly on 11th via Dublin I can get one for £81 taking just over 3 hours 😁

At the right price he will deep clean it if he gets it 🤷‍♀️
Yeah I'd probably remove all that grey carpet inside too and put something more homely in there but that's the beauty of it . At the price I can change things and make it my own and not worry about devaluation etc. Basically at the price it's almost like a straight swap for the vario and banking the cash from the euramobil

Now where have I heard that before.
Not lately lol. I sold the hymer , bought the iveco only for thar one trip. Bought this euramobil last year and said at the start I didn't think I'd keep it as not keen on tag axles. That's why I bought the vario last July. ... vario was the dream but I think it's just too compact inside. So now I'm just trying to figure out my best option at the money I want to spend right now. I'll feel a lot more secure with £100k In the bank than I do right now.

I’ll be going past the race van on my way back around 28-29th next week, I could look at it and take pictures, video call it for you Tam if you like…👍🏼😎

The only downside is its not lhd which I would have preferred.

Anyway no decision made yet . Still options open till I confirm a few things with it . But has a lot more plus points than negs at the minute.

The guy runs a couple of pubs so not hear from him regarding the new reg number etc till he's home for the night.

If it all checks out good and no lists of lots of corrosion etc then I'll see how it goes.

That might be handy . But I'd probably have committed to buying it by then or decided against it . But will keep you posted

Aye but I can use it while I do it . Unlike the vario
And once you've got it spic and span you can pop in to Uncle Lenny's on your way to the tunnel around September / October time for the Lithium install and put your feet up while he cracks on, until it's time to go and get the Fish and Chips of course!

Put a small holding deposit on it if you do, and I’ll give it a good going over before you travel a long way to pick it up…😎

Although this might put you off , I really like the racevan better than all the others you have mentioned, just the sort of thing I would go for.

That's nice

But I can't access bloody Facebook which is annoying

My thoughts on the Race truck

Garage is good for a motorbike but with the rear lift/deck you could have trouble accessing the motorbike because you would need a lot of space behind to drop the deck.

For the size of it there doesn’t seem a lot of space

Most places I'd use the motorbike is when I'm parked up somewhere away from the town etc. Like a beach .

It doesn't have as much lounge space as this big van does but then again I don't use most of this . I've sat in the front dinette or front sofa in this van maybe 4 or 5 times in the year I've owned it. We always sit in the back lounge .. dogs usually beside me or in their beds. Jade and milo like to lie up on the cab seats.

It's an in-between van , bigger than vario but smaller than this .

But it has way more storage etc than the mobilvetta motorhome has. Although that would have more seating space.

Sorted now , you have his number below , great those old hymers👍
It looks good from the few pictures I can access from the post above. The shower is unusable though which would be one concern but I'll drop the guy a message and see if he can send me photos

He's got a Scottish name I wonder if he's up here somewhere
