Tam n pups winter trip 2022

You’ll be cooked like a roast chicken in that with it been all black and attract the heat so much in summer 🥵 🥵 🥵
Possibly but it is insulated etc . I think it's wrapped anyway so not sure if I'd keep it black longterm .

It has a lot of potential but obviously there's things I would change to suit me.

It's also dvla registered as a motorhome tok which is a bonus

No watch I'm afraid ...

All were in Scotland, few different locations though
This could be fun. Can we just start with the last one then? The first 2 are the same I think.
The last one has really big mountains in the background. Could be Cairngorms. That's why I thought Drumochter because you can see the cairngorms in the distance.

The last one is the very end of glen etive . The road ends just past the photo

That race truck looks good for the money but does need some work.
I couldn't see a length on the listing.

Lovely spot. I have done most of the Monroes, but it's a good few years ago. I didn't recognise it even though I have been there.
Yeah it was one of my old haunts , not so easy these days I believe

It's 7 metres , truck chassis , 6 tonne , 6 speed box , uprated diff and new engine last year.

I'd lose the 2 bunks and just use them as storage areas . Change rear mattress to a thinner memory foam one , change electrics to lithium and fit a good solar system on the roof etc. But it has lots of potential to make it my own . I love the rear deck n garage , and the belly lockers etc. And it looks quite good .

I like the garage. (y)
I have the same van...
The garage can hold a complete kitchen, hob, oven ,sink, units and worktops or a complete 3 piece suite with footstools - how do I know?

I took both to Spain in mine :giggle:

They've not responded to my 10k offer.

It could be a nice van but not willing to pay more for it than that.

The race van does have a lot more potential

Not trying to take over your thread but my 190 is now downrated to 3.5t.
So I could insure no2 son to drive and I don't have to do the C1, easier to sell blah blah....
Well he parked it under a tree and ripped off the (useless) ladder on the back.
Fearing the worst I checked the van - no damage, just pulled off its brackets - says so much for the build quality - 22 years old!

Is the shower separate from the bog and basin? Looks like it might be all in one

I think it's an all in one

But waterproof walls. Looks like the plastic fake tongue and groove that's in the merc

Could be a winner for you Tam. Seems to tick a lot of items on your wish list. Bit of fettling to get it how you want. Not sure I would buy unseen unless you feel you could turn a quick profit.

But a hell of a lot more work required and you might get bored again.

We all like different vans and that’s the way it should be.

Personally I’m not a fan of that horse box conversion.

Now that iconic Hymer was lovely you linked, to me you will always get your money back and possibly make some on the classic Hymer but your resale clientele will be severely limited on the horse box in comparison.

Just my opinion as I say.

Just been having a chat with the owner of that . Its a 2 owner vehicle, engine replaced last year with an 18000 mile one , all new cambelts etc. Everything works , has on board generator , compressor etc . Service history , he races carts professionally. It sounds a good truck to be honest. But it couldn't be further away lol .. its in Cornwall.

Full year mot on it and he's looking for £10k
It all depends, it needs a lot of work to tidy it up, but if it is technically sound that is most important, and for that price you can easily throw 15 grand at it and make it fabulous, love the hydraulic ramp lol, but I would rip the whole interior out and start from scratch, but then I am a fairly confident woodworker with all the proper tools.

It's not a horsebox, it's a purpose built race van
I imagine there would always be a market for one at that price range . But if I buy it I'm planning to keep it at least a couple of years

Lol sod that , I'd be spending a few grand on it at most and apart from a few modifications I'd be keeping it basically like it is . The 2 bunks would go and be replaced with more storage etc. But the garage would be staying and I'd possibly update some of the appliances as and when required. It's perfectly useable as it is and I don't have any intentions of having a vehicle worth more than say 15k at present. I want something useable and not going to be precious about it. I'll make it homely and functional etc but not looking to invest a fortune on it.

Same with whatever I buy this time

That's another reason I'm not building the vario
