Tam n pups winter trip 2022

Please don't get to anywhere near that state. I am here if you need to talk just message me.

Gina.
Lol I don't think anyone every plans to get anywhere near that state.

I have dogs thankfully

It's quite funny as I took to vanlife originally to escape my life under the illusion it would make.life easier.
Gran canaria was my intended location but never got there and haven't been back since I started living in a van ....not sure if it would have been better or not . Probably never know now .

I'd say I was 90% happy with my life ...which isn't bad to be fair. And I know that really we should not rely on another person to.make us happy etc ....but I just would like to experience being in a relationship again when travelling to a these places , I miss things , moments etc

I have a habit when out in the van saying “look at that” so no fun if no one is listening… its when I start talking back to myself it gets a bit worrying..😆😊

Yeah that's when having dogs is handy. You can talk to yourself and just pretend they are answering

I always post pics that are current. It's not the pics that's the problem it's just the fact I either encounter people who just want to chat online constantly and they never meet up ....or I get the other end of the scale where they just want a hookup.

No one bleeding dates these days there's no in between.

I actually blame all the online dating sites because I think it gives a false impression of so many options ...but then I equally find it impossible to meet anyone without them....no one really meets someone in an aisle in asda these days. ..but I'm fed up being led on , let down, ghosted etc .

I was home and in one place for 6 months too so its not because I move around. Although I did find a few disappeared when I mentioned I lived in a van .

If I was more computer savvy I'd start my own dating site for vanlifers and nomads

Don't give up Tam.

It can work... I have friends, three couples, who all met online... two of those couples have been (and are) happily married for many years. One couple was so far distant, he on the south coast, she up in Thurso, it would have been virtually impossible for them to have met other than online.

I love your photos and your style of travel... there must be someone out there for you!

Aye exactly. I have 2 pairs of jeans a jumper and one jacket here soaked and trying to dry with not much luck ...the jeans I'm wearing now are damp too as we just got soaked yet again ... dogs towel is wetter than them too lol

Sunny and windy just now but don't want to hang them out to dry in a carpark

Unfortunately that's our biggest downfall, 😮 we always seem to be drying washing. 😁
JJ was always telling us Off for camping activities, when we should have been Off site parking. 🤣
When we visited Mizen Head we had washing out. 😎 Bob.

There's someone out there for you Tam, maybe you are looking in the wrong places. When I looked at the latest photos of you on here, I was scratching my head and asking myself why is that man single??!!

Gina.

Kim and I have run our business from our motorhomes for over 12 years and really loved touring/business together. After the mess of convid had on retail, I took semi retirement. Kim, slot younger than me, found a nice job for herself. So now it's when I go out on my own in our motorhome that I miss the interaction we had travelling along beautiful vistas and not being able to share it with her.

Why not take the van to Gran Canaria?

I'm not that big a drinker to be honest but yeah in Spain etc I'd occasionally sit outside a bar and have a pint. Can't say it ever resulted in conversation though , I dunno I think a lot of folk avoid single people for conversation... often feel like the gooseberry when there are couples everywhere.

And aye even I get tired of the same scenery so I have been looking for places other than beaches etc to visit . Not always easy to find though believe me
The inland waterways sounded nice as described earlier on by someone.

I planned to with the frankia but after I was sick as a dog on the 24 hour Portsmouth to santander crossing I was put off the 40 hour crossing from cadiz to gran Canaria. But I might get back there someday . I went several times flying , got offered a job there at one point although that turned out to be a lucky escape as they went bust .

You can see here where I am ( bluedot) and where the waterways and Boyle etc are. So probably go that way after sligo. There's a few wee peninsulas I want to look at though before sligo. I'm going to stay at this spot till Friday anyway as I want a break from driving.

Why!.....is that a bad
Tam, the answer to your dilemma may be closer than you think.
Although I am married I have spent most of my time M/Homing on my own with my dog, because of covid and now not being able to get my C1 from the DVLA I have been unable to do my winter SAD exodus to warmer climates for almost 3 years:rolleyes:

I have never been a lover of large rallies but over the last couple of years I've done a few Fun rallies and lo and behold I've enjoyed them. There is such a diverse cross section of people, single, gay, rich, poor, you name it, it's there.

Above all you WILL find some like minded people and some in a similar position to yourself but perhaps without the courage to go it alone. ;)

I’m not convinced looking actually works, more like just doing activities you like and joing groups that do the same sort of activities. Groups that are not oriented around being in couples. obviously a love of doggies a big thing in your life so maybe finding nice places on your travels and staying put for a while and volunteering at rescue centres, rather like the place in Greece you liked.
Obviously the 90 day rule rather hinders things…. The more people you meet and interact with the more chances there are.

Give the man a break will you. You can see he is struggling.

Gina.
Well said that lady, Exactly why some people don’t go on social media or forums, there’s folk around with no compassion, no empathy and no understanding of what others are feeling.

These pictures will paint a lie of constant sunshine lol but trust me it's wild today ....but

Between ballyshannon and bundorran lies Tullan strand , another beautiful sandy beach that stretches for miles , to the side of that on the cliff tops are the fairy bridges, naturally eroded cliffs that have left some very deep sink holes and arches. Mixed weather again today so dodging heavy downpours , with all the rain and rainbows in Ireland if the myth about pots of gold were true everyone here would be rich. Absolutely stunning scenery. I hope you made use of the Wishing Chair Tam 😉 you never know . I am loving following your travels, thanks for all the photos. Just a thought why not try stopping in a place/town for quite a few days you may get to meet people by doing this.

I haven't read any of your almost 10000 other comments on posts but I hope they're a bit more positive than that. You sound a right charm!!!!!
