If you get to having it remapped, definitely mention the EML light, they should scan it first with a decent scanner, but I would be reluctant to remap it with an undiagnosed fault, big difference between a 50 quid scanner and a multiple '000 scanner.

Aye I planned to mention it and see if they can pinpoint the cause just incase its anything, if it would actually stay on any length of time it would maybe come up on the scanner but it literally comes on a few seconds at 60mph ( sometimes) and goes off again at 62....you could then easily go to 70 with no sign of it .

Other times if for instance going up a hill and you drop to 4th or 3rd and accelerate it will come on around 40mph and stay on till you move up a gear ...on a couple of occasions when you do move up its then hit a dead spot and no power you've to change down again ...but that's only been the odd time.

It's done this since I bought it but it's intermittent so I've no idea what's causing it. I first thought maybe the injector wires but it's not doing the same as my hymer did when one of those went.

Not sure what it is and really I'd need to get someone with a good scanner to be in the van with me on a good test drive.

There is the off-chance that what's causing that is also causing the sluggishness on hills but I do think that's just underpowered fiat for such a big van .

I don't need it to be faster just a bit better at maintaining speed on inclines and Gill climbing

Which is what a good remap should do, although I've only ever had them done on a dyno, it's amazing how much better they can be than out of the factory! Fred in a shed shows the multi million pound manufacturers how to do it!

Rain again!!

I think ireland was a bad idea.

Fed up to be honest, this 90 day bullshit really ruins my plans. Seriously thinking this might be my last trip and vanlife isn't going to work out.

Or maybe I'm just having a bad day who knows, but a lot on my mind just now , fed up doing this alone , feeling old , and fed up trying to figure out my life.

I'm venting ....things may change again tomorrow.

I feel your pain Tam
it's a bad time of year for it mate, we get constant lows blowing in on the jetstream from the Atlantic this time of year, then when it does finally settle we get the Icelandic winds coming down from the north and although sunny & settled its fecking Baltic!
Hence I'm always abroad lol
Pity you haven't any Irish ancestors or you could get 1 of our passports and you won't have any of that 90 days nonsense
I've heard it's to settle a bit towards the weekend and early next week is to be a lot better
Here's hoping for you 🤞

Sorry to hear you're feeling low, the rain won't help. I hope you can get your moho mojo back.

So sorry and shocked to hear you say that. Maybe it is just the rain getting you down. I do hope you feel better soon. Take care.

Gina.

That's the annoying part , my mums side were from Galway but my granny was born in Scotland so I wouldn't qualify for Irish passport or I would so I could get round the 90 day bollocks.

I know exactly what you mean Tam, I’m going through the same thing at the moment, wether it’s because I don’t have a van at the moment I don’t know but I’m not bothering to look for one so much now… beginning to think my money may be better spent elsewhere where…
My life is a bit up in the air at the moment too, health and personal wise so that’s not helping either…

Just feel like I’m on hold and everyday is Groundhog Day…..

It’s nice to get out a good moan too sometimes..👍🏼😎

I feel your pain Tam, we had a month in June 2015 fabulous weather and free Parking and water and toilets was easy. 😁
😜 Still let's put some suggestions in your head 🤔 Spain Morocco and or Tunisia and a ☀️☀️☀️ sunny ride home. 😎 Bob.

Nowt wrong with a vent, we all need one every now & then.

I could have screamed when the pensioner whose garden backs onto mine, who was a very strong Br**it supporter, moaned at me recently about the 90 day rule and how it was spoiling his winter trips to Spain.

Mrs F has Irish ancestry, but it's too far back to qualify for the passport. Me, I'm as English in ancestry as can be, even got part of Norfolk named after us since the middle ages!

We all feel worse when the weather is crap. I feel very directionless at the moment, difficult to get up enthusiasm to do anything. It's easy to say "chin up, it'll improve" - but it always does in the end though, doesn't it?

I've been quite jealous of your Irish jaunt, as it happens. Great pictures, I love a bit of rugged coastal scenery.

Are you still in contact with Jackie. Rain in Ireland is normal but the good days are fantastic. When I used to go there for the surfing I would be soaked anyway. Surf, Pub, Sleep, repeat for two weeks. (y)

Aye sporadically, she isn't the best at keeping in touch . We do have a sort of vague plan to meet up in Spain and she wants to go to Morocco but not on her own so I've no doubt ill hear from her closer to that.

Hi Tam, we knew if we came to Ireland at this time of the year and we went home brown it wouldn't be a sun tan but rust. would have loved to have met up with you but I think we are a long way south than you as we have to be back in Belfast to get the ferry home on the 25th, chin up mate a few sunny days and things will look better.
Kev &Teresa and Mollie.

The sun is out just now between heavy windy showers .. parked up at yet another beach . There's 2 other motorhomes here so maybe I'll see if they are sociable.

But to be honest ...as clichéd as it sounds you can be surrounded by people and still feel lonely sometimes. I think I just get fed up seeing all these couples travelling both in real life and on YouTube and Instagram etc and I just think why can't i seem to find someone who wants this lifestyle....I've tried 🤷‍♂️ jees I've been on various dating sites/apps .. I'm even feckin bisexual for gods sake youd think id have more choice but nope i only meet idiots or folk that are scared of takimg chances ...so i cant help but think whits wrang wi me?

And I'm no getting any younger.

6 years I've been single now with not much more than a few dates here and there .

It gets old very quickly

Anyway

A spot of lunch then going to walk yet another beach on my own while my 3 dogs go do their own thing .

Ireland is always a bit hit and miss and this time of year more miss.
It's a beautiful country & with good weather it's brilliant & the people really friendly. A few years ago I did quite a bit of work in Ireland and it rained more often than not. We were lucky when we took the Motorhome for a couple of weeks we had really good weather.

Persevere Tam Ireland is a great country & in a few weeks you will be in sunny Spain & back on form.

Aye I can't fault it for scenery and the locals all seem friendly etc , tbh the weather hasn't been bad all the time , just when it is it's bleak and depressing.

Like I said just feeling a bit down today but I'll bounce back as usual .

I might give monzer idea a try and check out the local singles on tinder lol

Find me an Irish gypsy ...🤣🤣

I like my own company, but to find a chance of meeting people you have to get out there.. and that Tam means maybe going to a pub/bar one lunch time or early evening and chatting to the locals, and of course familiarity with people helps so moving around and not staying in one place doesn’t help…

Strangely I quite like it when it’s wet and windy outside but in the van being nice and cosy, just love watching the rain…😎

I'm the same, I need to get out there, but I can't be bothered.

Gina.
