Tam n pups winter trip 2022

This is Rashid painting Carol and eddies van in Tagazhoute back in 2014
Looks like his full name is Rashid Nabil.

I like that Rashid painting, but if the van is going I think you should keep it as bog standard as possible.

No one objects to factory spec. A painting is not to everyone's taste, and could be seen as a cover up for damage.

I can't see that a painting would add any £value either, even if it is to the viewer's liking.

Just a link to keep an eye on the weather Tam for any potential for floods.
If the link doesn't work it is on Facebook called Severe weather Maroco. I've posted it on the Maroco thread.

I don't do Facebook.

But happy to say the forecast around here and where I'm heading over the next week isn't too bad ...its not sunny like I had hoped for but no sign of snow or rain thankfully

Dazzlin had this painting done by Rashid in 2015

We thought long and hard about this. I wanted it the year before, Lynne was reluctant the year after.

We don't have that van anymore, but it still has the "van-tat", and is around in North Yorkshire.

It cost about 400 dirhams (£40), worth every penny.

If we ever get over in Noah, I would not hesitate to get the bonnet done.

We were just today discussing getting a mural done on our Villa wall over the pool.

Tam - hope you enjoy maroc as much as we did for 5 years..... 😎

We liked Kenitra for the cheap site fees and the great town.

Be aware, I am sure Andy (funster writer) got bitten near there and needed a rabies jab.

He is still alive and still publishing... 😎

This is a picture I took of him n missus n Gordo in maroc for book cover!

cakey was very badly bitten by the camp site guard dog, he had to have continuing treatment back in the UK from memory.

Abraem has finally finished my bumpers , they're by no means perfect and he has cut corners on the preparation but they are much better than before so I will look on the positive side. I have paid him what we originally agreed rather than the second price with the side bits included as I know the bits he has not prepared properly will probably not last , he seems happy enough with that . I think it may be a learning curve in the longterm that I should have been patient and waited to find a painter who was a bit more dedicated and particular. Once I've cleaned up his bits of overspray etc I'll take some photos .

Jackie has buggered off on her own after much discussion this morning about where we were going next , I hate to say it but she's a stubborn bugger and also very impatient so our paths may go separate ways on this trip . There are places I want to see that differ from hers so I'm just leaving her too it. I prefer a more organised and planned route than zigzagging all over the place at random.

Have you been keeping up with the Morocco 23 thread Tam. There is talk of heavy rain and mountain roads breaking up in some places.

Nah I stopped looking at folk I follow on Instagram in Morocco too as I want to discover things for myself. I won't be near the mountains for a few weeks yet. I'm only watching the weather around where I am and where I'm heading next.

I was advised it was still too early for the mountain areas so I'm sticking to the coast all the way to just past agadir ... then I'll see about going inland

Someone told us a rule of thumb was ‘leave Tafraout off your plans until the end of February at the earliest‘. Heavy rain and snow melt can wreak havoc up there.

Its bloody warm here today , its not blue skies but its easily 25/26° at the minute ...I can feel my skin burning .

I've been chatting with a local girl fatima who was walking around the campsite with her little dog " marshmallow " who is a little cutey , she says it's a lasa apso

She was asking how I liked Morocco, I said I've mixed feelings so far there are good things and bad , she says she does not like living here , as a girl she says she has no rights , women are treated as second class , she wants to go live in Europe so is studying hard , she was visiting a German couple here on the site she has known for 6 years. I was surprised by a lot of what she said as my impression so far has been Morocco seemed quite Liberal towards women compared to what I have seen in the news etc with more Eastern countries.

There's a whole pack of cats over the wall from here ...I managed to catch a pic of some of them ...before I pulled my phone out there was about 10 or 12 sat on the wall .

For £120 it's a big improvement on how it was before PCIMG_2023-02-18_14-52-52_copy_432x432.jpg

Yes I was told to leave going in land till early march . And from where I am now I've quite a few places going south to visit before then anyway . And I will most likely be back to Maroc so I don't need to see everything this time.

I don't want to see snow lol I came south to escape that

This is cakey’s harrowing horror story from his time in Kenitra.

Have you knocked 10 years off your age as you don't get them until you are 60.
