We used Google Translate with Arabic sometimes - often it's not your French that's at fault but theirs! French is a second language for Moroccans after all. Next time I'll download the language files at home when I have wifi, in advance. Then you don't need the internet to use it. You can just put it in conversation mode, and each of you speaks and it translates. Sometimes it feels like magic, and I worked in the computer industry!

Just downloaded French & Spanish for our next trip, & tried conversation mode - it’s a game changer! Thank you!

I just paid it through internet banking just as I would any other"invoice". I did have to set up a new payee, again just as I would have to pay someone new. Mine is a building society "bank" account so I did expect problems but none encountered.

We have had a walk around the souk this afternoon with the dogs , they enjoy the smells but it is hard work keeping their noses up off the ground . You get a mixed reaction here , many shy away from the dogs but today there were countless people asking to pet them and others admiring them. They must simply treat pet dogs differently from the thousands of strays. We are going to go round tomorrow without the dogs so we can do some shopping .


Abraem is currently sanding my rear bumper by hand . He's going to paint both bumpers and my front wheel arches for 1500dh ...around £120 which I think is reasonable .

Abraem is currently sanding my rear bumper by hand . He's going to paint both bumpers and my front wheel arches for 1500dh ...around £120 which I think is reasonable .

If he does a decent job then that's more than reasonable. £300 here to paint just a front bumper.

Yes thats my thoughts , although he's now doing the plastic trims along both sides too as the lacquer is peeling on those 2 , so we've agreed on 1800dh . Lol.

He's been out there hand sanding them.
I don't expect them to be perfect but if they are presentable I'll be happy with that.

I must be getting soft in my old age but then I've never liked injustice ...I've found myself on park4night defending this campsite as 3 reviews left for it today I find very unfair ...I mean its Fiddlesticksin £3.23 per night. Its clean and tidy , it's not too crowded , it's very quiet... OK you can here the prayers , the occasional dog bark etc but it's bloody Morocco.

Are people really that petty on campsites usually?

I see the Same on park4night for free spots , complaining about church bells or trains passing etc ...its a bloody free parking spot lol.

Of course it's ALL French and German reviews and having visited both countries they aren't perfect spots on them either

Lol well I might end up on a few on this trip . I will of course be attempting to find free overnight parkups near a beach etc when I can but if I can't and its a choice between a packed guardian parking and a site for the same cost I'm aswell using the site. I don't need the showers etc so as long as it's a decent bit space and cheap enough I'm just aswell.

Not sure if it's a recent thing or not but lots of the parking spots near the coast have reviews saying moved on with police or military at night stating its not safe etc. I think once I head south and then inland wildspots will be easier

They started clearing all the wild parking on the beaches a few years ago. I think it was on orders from the King.

Yes it seems common practice here.im thinking if I do the vario I'll just concentrate on the inside and any welding paintwork I want done ill get it done here or Turkey.

Speaking off cakes , I bought some of these today ...but I'm not keen

They are very sweet but taste like big lumps of fried batter then soaked in honey.

The next place I'm parked that there are kids around I'll be giving them to them .
