Great! Did it all go ok with the vet and the PIF people re the dogs? If you were happy with the vet do you mind posting the details?

Yes vet was great. Turned out not to be €30 per dog but €30 per certificate so all 3 dogs on one certificate.

Then down to pif. That took about an hour and issued with another certificate

Slight worry with jade as I had her given a dhppi booster and she's taken a reaction and face swollen but spoke to vet and said not to worry I've given her an antihistamines and if any problems I'll see a vet in Morocco in the morning

I've been very disappointed with your Spanish part of your winter trip, we all know there is much more to Spain than hanging about on streets, waiting for paperwork.

Just to put a bit more of the nice part of Spain out there. We're here tonight. Inland Spain, in Don Quixote country! 48 hours free parking in the pines, but still some are parking near the no motorhome signs .

(I'm planning a five day Ruta de Don Quixote cycle tour in April, it come right through here).

We used to wear shorts most of the winter when we first came over to Spain. Now we're in almost as many layers as the locals.

It was very sunny but with a very bitingly cold breeze.

Riding tomorrow we are reckoning on four layers.

Just to let you all know Tam safely in Morocco parked up at Asilah getting his Moroccan sim card sorted then he'll be back on in all his glory! nice sailing across to Tangier Med (although Tam might disagree a wee bit)... ...... the wee dog Hady now back to her usual self which is great, so in the meantime I'll deputise for him with a couple of pics & one I know he'll approve of as he loves all these old yokes!....

Hola , bonjour , hows it gaun and whatever they say here in Morocco. As the captain said we arrived in tangier probably about 7.30 last night, the crossing was a little rough to start and I was feeling a little queasy but it settled down and I was fine in the end , but as my sea legs were playing up there are no photos from the boat etc as I just stayed seated. One pic of the boat once I'd disembarked while waiting on the capn

then we had to queue for ages for the big x Ray machine which was a farce but smooth running.

Then by the time I'd sorted insurance €155 for 2 months and exchanged some pounds for dirhams it was around 10pm so we just stayed overnight in the port. Very very windy last night and still blowing a gale now.
We drive to asilah this morning on a toll road ( gasp ) cost 86 dirhams which I reckon is about £7 odd . I'm parked up in a wee street next door to the campsite , it's a dead end and probably OK to just park up here overnight in true flt fashion. But I think the campsite is about 70 dirhams so I could go on there if need be but then I'd have loads of neighbours etc so meh I'll see how I get on here for now. I'll stay around here till Jackie catches up so I don't want to be on a campsite etc for 4 or 5 nights if I can avoid it.


So once I'd parked up I took the dogs for a well needed run on the beach as they hadn't been off the lead in 3 days

Cracking flat sandy beach but you can see the wind really chucking the sand up , when we were leaving the beach I saw a couple of stray dogs about but they seemed friendly enough

And then I noticed that what I initially thought was large stones /rocks was actually a pack of around 10-15 dogs all curled up sleeping on the beach. They hadn't moved a muscle the whole time my lot were running around , never made a sound

I think I'm going to struggle with the dog situation but we will see. The capn did say he had seen all those dogs and someone was feeding them just after I had seen them so that's not so bad if they are being fed at least.


Planning to have a walk to the old town later on so I'll get more photos then .

My polar steps seems to.be playing up but I have started a new one for Morocco so if those who follow it can let me know if they can see that or not I'd appreciate it

After having read the reviews on park4night thinking about it is as far as I'll get I think lol. Although it will be interesting to see how I get on with free parking here. As some of the guarded parking looks dodgy too going by p4n reviews.

It doesn't help that my satnav doesn't work over here at all so I need to find an alternative way to find my way around .

Here's the pack of strays on the move , 2 local lads with 2 dogs of their own were on the beach throwing stones at this lot and setting their dogs on them .. .THIS Is something I'm going to struggle with. I can't stand and watch that so I can see me getting in to a few arguments with people. On this occasion the pack all ran away from them so I didn't actually see any stones hitting them. But the poor dogs were bothering no one and just lying on the beach before the guys stirred them all up. In the end they all ended up running about on the road etc and the cars don't really stop for them. This part I am going to struggle with I know it.

Had a look around the 5 star campsite next door lol ... no ta

But a couple of nice motors on it .

This old right hand drive truck from Switzerland, its 55 years old , only one in the world , the guy built it himself . Its small and compact but very very cool .

This one is anything but small , a French owned ex military truck with a repurposed pilote motorhome body mounted on the back, its an absolute beast , they've been right down to Mauritania and guinea with this thing ...at least it actually does the job they built it for and goes off road and isn't a shiny toy.

Then we went for a walk to the old medina and souk, within a few minutes I had a guy trying to sell me hash and other substances , when that failed he tried selling me necklaces lol ...took ages to shake him off. Lovely rustic old town , very friendly people who all greet you with a hello, bonjour or a wave and a smile , I got several thumbs up and points etc to dogs , many were intrigued or making coo coo noises to them others just stare like you're mad lol. Very pretty carriages which are actually old wrecks but look pretty ...the horses look well cared for and were having their dinner as we passed . Lots of colours and charm , sheep with a few new born lambs just learning to walk. Lots of creative items made from repurposed barrels , tyres , you name it . Lots of ceramics and traditional clothing ...I'll be getting a few items at some point but when I don't have the dogs with me.
